Chapter 34 Politics is about making lots of friends

Metis nodded slightly: "Although the great gods cannot directly intervene, their children can. They do not need to break their oaths, yet they can still provide us with tremendous assistance."

"As long as we give them hope of victory, our support will increase."

"After gaining the support of the Titans, you can no longer hide. You must establish your own foundation, set up your future divine court, and truly contend with the God-King."

"Only by withstanding the attacks of the God-King and letting the world see your power will the gods be fully determined to help you, abandon their old loyalty, and welcome a new era."

Zeus punched the air hard and laughed loudly, "That's enough!"

Metis hesitated for a moment, then softly advised, "Zeus, I know you are strong, but the power of the King of the Gods should not be underestimated. Even though you have greatly weakened him, the King of the Gods is still the strongest god. The gods will not openly support you until the very last moment."

"The support of the gods is now completely illusory. Everything still depends on yourself. You must not be careless or underestimate your enemy."

Zeus laughed heartily, nodded emphatically, and said with a firm look in his eyes: "I know, I will not underestimate any enemy, and I will not let the mistake of underestimating the enemy be repeated!"

He paused, winked at Metis, and smiled brightly, full of trust: "Besides, aren't you here to fill in the gaps and guide me?"

A little flustered, Metis looked away, no longer looking at Him, a barely perceptible blush creeping onto his cheeks.

Watching the two gods flirting, Rhea's beautiful face beamed with an even deeper smile. In every respect, this goddess of wisdom was the most suitable match for Zeus.

Now that the plan has been set, let's execute it immediately!
For safety and secrecy, the mother goddess Rhea first asked the Lady of Night to help conceal their presence, and then the three gods secretly went into the world to meet the sea god Pontus.

In the cause of overthrowing the Father, the only one among the great gods of that time who did not contribute was Pontus, the god of the sea.

He has done nothing to contribute to the new order.

When Cronus redefined the world order, the established order of power was centered on the twelve Titans, and Pontus, the god of the sea, had no right to it.

If not for the protection of Gaia, the mother of all things, He would have been devoured by Cronus long ago, and the other Titans wouldn't have cared much about His fate.

When the three gods arrived at the Inner Sea, Pontus personally went out to greet them in a very humble manner.

Despite his enormous size, he bowed to greet Zeus and his entourage, displaying extreme caution and humility.

Although both are seas, He is completely different from Poseidon's capricious and volatile outer sea. He is a truly honest god, with a gentle temperament and good character.

Even if He were not good, He wouldn't be able to do anything; if He had a bad temper, the Titans would have dealt with him long ago. Zeus also showed Him full respect, taking the initiative to embrace Pontus with a sincere smile on his face: "Honorable and great son of the Mother Goddess of All Things, it is an honor to meet you. Your existence brings beauty to the world."

Pontus was even somewhat flattered. For so many years, he had kept a low profile as a god, so low-key that he couldn't be more so. Pontos was a robust, middle-aged man with handsome features and deep blue eyes, giving him a very upright and gentle appearance.

He smiled very gently, and his tone was even more humble: "Respected and great Queen Goddess, Son of the Queen Goddess, Daughter of the Ocean Goddess, welcome to your arrival. The sea shines because of you."

When He saw Metis, the daughter of the ocean, accompanying Zeus, He already knew Oceanus's attitude and was fully aware of Zeus's intentions.

Pontus invited Zeus and the others into the underwater palace, and even strongly insisted that Rhea sit in His place of honor.

After the gods were seated, Pontus was the first to ask, feigning ignorance: "Honorable Son of the Universe, may I ask what brings you, a god, to the sea?"

Zeus smiled and recounted his plans (political program) for the future cosmic order, then sincerely invited Pontus to join his side.

He made a political promise: "Your Majesty Pontos, I assure you that in the new order you will receive the honors you deserve fairly, and your contributions will no longer be overlooked."

After listening to Zeus's long speech, Pontus was naturally tempted by the new order. He knew that if the situation wasn't improved, he would eventually be devoured by Cronus.

However, participating in a rebellion was impossible.

At least openly, they would never dare to do so.

Getting involved in this kind of thing means that He, an Outer God in every sense, could be completely destroyed if He is not careful.

He replied cautiously, “Great and wise Son of the Universe, I admire your magnanimity and wisdom, and I look forward to the day when you plan the order of the universe.”

“But I swore an oath of allegiance to the King of Gods, and I cannot break my oath. Likewise, I am loyal to the great and benevolent Queen of Gods, which is my duty.”

"My abilities are so insignificant, I'm afraid I can hardly help you with the great cause you want to create."

Pontus's polite refusal was exactly what Zeus expected. Upon hearing this, Zeus laughed heartily, making Pontus feel a little uneasy.

Zeus stopped laughing and smiled, saying, "Honorable Pontus, I respect you as I respect all the great gods. I understand your difficulties. You are a benevolent god who abhors war and longs for peace."

“I am not like the cruel and tyrannical God-King. I am the benevolent son of Rhea and will not force anyone.”

"I have come here today only to tell you my thoughts, only to let you know that the world should have a better order, and that all the gods should receive their share of honor."

Zeus spoke with utmost sincerity, “A righteous god should not force any god to break his oath, so my visit is not to ask you to break your oath.”

"I just want you to know that whatever choice you make, as long as you don't make the wrong decision, your honor will always exist in the future universe, and no one can take it away from you."

"As for Poseidon, the laws that have already been conceived are justified by their existence; they are part of the universe. However, he will only be in charge of the seas beyond the earth, and your authority will be respected and upheld."
