Greece: I am Zeus!

Chapter 135 Goddess of Water

Chapter 135 Goddess of Water (Seeking monthly votes at the beginning of the month~~~)

Oceanus knew perfectly well that if he pleaded with Zeus, Zeus would most likely grant him the favor.

If it were a plea for Iapetus, Oceanus himself would have refused his daughter's request.

But they're just two minor characters; this is a small problem.

However, Oceanus was worried about another problem.

What if Atlas and the other two cause trouble after we release them?
That would have been very undignified.

Based on Oceanus's understanding of these two fools, he knew that once they were released and regained their freedom, they would inevitably cause trouble again.

By then, they'll probably be driven directly into Tartarus.

Oceanus looked at the children in the palace, especially his two beloved daughters—Clymene and Pleone.

There are also the children of Pleone: the beautiful, bright, gentle, and graceful Pleades; the melancholic and graceful Hyades; the innocent and handsome young son Hyades; and the charming and adorable young girl Calypso, who is a little willful.

These lovely and beautiful children will now never see the light of day again because of the mistakes of their parents.

Oceanus sighed slowly, having already made up his mind!
I'll risk my reputation to help the children!

This is the responsibility of a father and grandfather!
Although the whole universe knew how much Zeus loved Metis, Oceanus, who possessed great wisdom, never considered asking Metis to plead for him.

Good steel should be used where it's needed most; His own reputation is good enough now.

The majestic and powerful Oceanus, seated on his divine throne, spoke in a loud and authoritative voice: "Clymene, my daughter, Iapetus has committed an unforgivable sin, and you must understand this."

"From this day forward, no god in the ocean shall ever mention Him again, nor shall He ever do anything foolish!"

Even though he was saddened, the wise and resilient Clymene knew what was important and nodded gently.

Oceanus secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

He then slowly said, "As for Atlas and his brothers, I will plead with His Majesty the God-King. His Majesty the God-King should grant me some leniency and give them a chance."

"However, they are both violent and reckless, and even more arrogant. You must discipline them properly from now on and never allow them to do anything foolish again, otherwise, the wrath of the God-King will be unbearable for you!"

Overjoyed, Clymene nodded emphatically, “Dear Father God, thank you for your mercy and sacrifice! Rest assured, I will discipline them well and never allow them to do anything foolish. I will never let you down!”

Pleone was also overjoyed, her dignified face filled with gratitude, and she nodded repeatedly: "Dear Father God, thank you for your mercy and grace! I will also persuade Atlas to abide by His Majesty the King's order, to be loyal to His Majesty the King, and never to commit the same mistake again!"

The Lord of the Ocean nodded slightly and looked at Pleone, saying, "His Majesty the God-King has implemented a new order. He has generously bestowed glory upon the gods, and they all enjoy the world."

"But your children, they are implicated by Atlas and can no longer enjoy the beautiful world."

Oceanus sighed deeply: "Alas, the lovely children are innocent. I will plead with His Majesty the King of Gods to forgive them."

"I don't ask His Majesty the God-King to bestow honor upon them, but simply to allow the children to live openly and honestly in the world, that would be enough."

Upon hearing this, Pleone was overjoyed. She ran to the throne of Oceanus, knelt before His majestic body, and lay down on His lap.

The beautiful daughter of the ocean, her eyes brimming with tears, choked back sobs as she thanked her loving Father God: "Father God, thank you for your mercy and love. Your kindness will be forever etched in the memories of your daughter and children, sob sob sob—"

Before she could finish speaking, the gentle and serene Pleone was already sobbing uncontrollably.

Oceanus gently stroked her hair with his broad hand, letting out a soft sigh.

His hatred for Cronus grew even stronger!

It's all Cronus's fault!
Everything was fine until His stupidity and tyranny ruined it all!
And Iapetus!

That hopeless bastard!
Must we insist on going down this one path to the bitter end?

Thetis, the goddess who nourishes all things, felt extremely saddened as she looked at the sobbing child. She gently held the child in her arms and whispered comforting words, her voice as gentle as a spring breeze, trying to soothe the sorrow in her daughter's heart.

All the gentleness and intellect of the daughters of the ocean originate from her; she is their role model and soul.

She taught all her daughters to love their husbands and treat them with tenderness and care; to care for and love their children, to think more about their children, and to put family and responsibility first.

She not only taught in this way, but also led by example, integrating these virtues into her own divinity.

She will always love her husband Oceanus faithfully, always support Him wholeheartedly, and take care of Him tenderly, serving as his strongest support and making everything right for Him.

She respected and supported her husband so much that she would never overstep her bounds and speak in any public setting unless Oceanus spoke.

She would never contradict any decision Oceanus made, even if she disagreed with it. Even if Oceanus was wrong, she would only offer advice tactfully in private.

If Oceanus insists, then even if she disagrees, she will wholeheartedly support him and consider his decision as her own. Only a mother goddess of such utmost gentleness and wisdom could nurture the ocean goddesses loved by all the gods.

Like water, the goddess of freshwater, with her absolute gentleness and wisdom, kindness and tolerance, she earned the respect of the gods, as well as the unreserved love of Oceanus.

Among all the gods in the universe, Oceanus is an extremely rare male god who is devoted to Thetis alone.

Let alone finding a lover, He would almost always bring Thetis along when He met any other god.

He loved and cherished Thetes deeply, and could not bear to be separated from her for even a moment. Her existence was the most beautiful melody in His life.

His love and respect for Thetis were no less than that for Thetis.

Just as Oceanus was considering what to do, the Mother Goddess and the Deep Sea arrived.

The primordial gods didn't need to think much; they simply exchanged glances and understood each other's intentions and purposes.

Thetis, who was silently comforting her daughter, changed her expression upon hearing the news that the Mother of All Things and the Deep Sea had arrived. Her expression became unnatural and somewhat ugly.

She sighed inwardly. Originally, she might have been able to try pleading for leniency, but now, it was impossible; the situation had become complicated.

After a brief discussion, Gaia, Pontus, and Oceanus felt more confident, believing that the combined power of the three primordial gods would be enough to sway the King of Gods.

So they prepared to take the children to Olympus, hoping that the King of Gods would show leniency.

It was at this moment that Thetes intervened.

Even though she didn't want to stop her husband's decision in front of so many gods, at this moment, she had no choice but to stop him.

If they just left like that, the consequences would be unimaginable.

Her uniquely gentle and sweet voice rang out: "Dear Mother Goddess, mighty Pontus, my love, please wait, perhaps you should not go to Olympus together."

The gods were all taken aback, and Oceanus was especially startled. He knew that his wife wouldn't stop him so easily unless there was a serious problem.

With a hint of doubt, He asked gently, "My love, why would you say that?"

Tethys smiled and gently shook her head. She said softly, "Arno (Tethys's nickname for Oceanus), I have some basic thoughts that I hope you will consider."

“My love, you, Mother Goddess, and the deep sea, let us go to Olympus together to ask His Majesty the King of Gods to forgive the children. Perhaps we can succeed.”

"However, this is not appropriate."

"Because there are too many gods."

Upon hearing this, Oceanus was startled, his face showing a thoughtful expression, and a chill inexplicably welled up from the depths of his heart.

Pontus asked in bewilderment, “Gentle and merciful Thetes, isn’t it good to have many gods? Many gods are powerful, which better demonstrates our sincerity and the importance we attach to this matter.”

Thetis shook his head and said, "Yes, the fact that you all went together to plead with His Majesty the God-King certainly shows how much importance you all attach to this matter."

"However, His Majesty the God-King may feel that he is being coerced."

"We should be asking His Majesty the God-King for mercy and forgiveness, not forcing His Majesty the God-King to grant forgiveness."

“Compassion is a plea, forgiveness is a gift; those are the supreme power and grace of the divine king. But for everyone to go together is too much like an invisible coercion.”

Pontus was horrified upon hearing this and hurriedly said, "Thetes, I have no such terrible thought. I swear by my divinity that I would never dare to have such an extremely foolish idea!"

"I am only heartbroken for those poor children, and I sincerely beg His Majesty the God-King for forgiveness. I have absolutely no intention of offending His Majesty the God-King!"

Tethys gently shook her head and said slowly, "Please don't be anxious. I believe you don't have this thought, and neither do we. However, the way we do things shouldn't look like coercion."

“It’s one thing if it doesn’t exist, but it doesn’t seem like it can be either. Neither His Majesty the God-King nor any of the gods in the universe can allow them to have this view.”

“The Atlas brothers and their children are not important figures; they are just insignificant juniors, and forgiving them is not an urgent matter.”

"This matter shouldn't have required the Mother Goddess to personally intervene, especially now that the gods of the Inner Sea and the Ocean are also involved."

"No matter how you look at it, this seems like an overreaction. Won't this make the God-King think that the Sea and the Ocean have a problem with His Majesty the God-King?"

"Could it be that Hai and Yang are taking this opportunity to rebel, dissatisfied with the honors bestowed by His Majesty?"

"And, there's also the Mother Goddess."
