Chapter 57 Answers a Few Questions [Important!]
Is the author a literary youth?
First of all, I want to say that being a "literary youth" and having "literary youth syndrome" are two different things. Secondly, the idea that I am a "literary youth" is a huge misunderstanding.
When I write each novel, my goal is always to serve the readers. In this process, I strive to capture the atmosphere of a particular moment, which may be different from the novels you've read before. To create that atmosphere as effectively as possible, I often revise a chapter repeatedly.
However, regarding the ending and the characters' fates, I've always sought happy endings and good destinies. This is because I personally find tragedies particularly unbearable.
Regarding the strength of the skill?
Actually, the strength of the skills was roughly outlined in yesterday's updated chapter. Some readers asked, "With such strong skills, what if you mess up the writing?"
I understand this concern, but it's trying to fit my book into the mold of traditional fantasy novels. None of my books have ever collapsed because the protagonist's abilities were too strong, and this book will be no exception.
Because I didn't use the leveling-up and cultivation-based thinking found in traditional fantasy novels to conceive this story. It's easy to understand: humanity has an incredibly vast skill pool; just unlocking all the common skills would require a huge amount of space. Even if you did unlock every single skill, it wouldn't collapse, because it's not a leveling-up and cultivation system at all. Without combat power, how could it collapse?
Regarding the romantic scenes
I must admit that I did revise the outline. As for who the female lead is, how she appears, or whether she even appears at all, I cannot reveal any spoilers for now.
There must be beautiful women. In my opinion, an urban novel without a decent female protagonist is like the West not being able to do without Jerusalem.
Some friends say that solo travel is a must. In fact, solo travel and pets are definitely elements in my plans, and they take up a significant amount of space. But ultimately, it all comes down to comfort and warmth.
I understand that some friends seek a leisurely lifestyle, but in my opinion, while solo travel is relaxing, it lacks warmth and emotional connection. If you can't accept the inclusion of a female protagonist, I can only apologize!
Does the author listen to advice?
I'm a seasoned writer, and I've stumbled quite a few times in terms of writing, character development, and plot progression. All of these things combined are what I call experience.
I understand that some readers are doing this for the good of the book, but some viewpoints from a reader's perspective may not represent the greatest common denominator of public demand, something I can control. As I've said before, I'm an author who serves readers, but I can only serve the vast majority. And most readers won't voice their opinions. Perhaps some details or certain settings won't suit everyone's taste; that's unavoidable.
In addition, an author's knowledge cannot be all-knowing and all-powerful. I have read many books by authors that were originally very good, but when they started writing about areas I was familiar with, there were some awkward parts. This is due to the author's limitations.
I've tried my best to research and avoid making common-sense mistakes, but if I do, please be lenient and forgive me; there's no need to keep yelling at me.
Does having more free time mean you stop showing off?
No, in my opinion, online writing without showing off is no better than live-streaming yourself eating cement. I've never considered leisure and showing off to be contradictory.
I can understand that some readers imagine the protagonist of this book to be like a hermit, pursuing inner peace and a strange atmosphere, and that any hint of passion in the book would disrupt that atmosphere...
I'm really sorry, but you can't write a novel like that. No matter what kind of novel it is, you can never write one without conflict and plot twists. And in that process, you have to act cool, that's what online novels are all about.
As I said before, I must serve the greatest common denominator! I will add some appropriate and exciting scenes in the later episodes, and then see everyone's reaction before deciding how to arrange this part of the plot.
I'll just write down whatever comes to mind for now and answer these questions. If you have any other questions, feel free to post them under this chapter. I'll organize them and consider writing a separate chapter to answer them later.
Summer vacation is about to begin, and I hope Orange can stay with you all the time.
