"Let's just make do on the sofa for the night. We'll buy a bed for the second bedroom tomorrow," Su Miaoyi said.

“I want to sleep on the bay window in your bedroom,” Xi Xian said.

"Whatever you want." Su Miaoyi went to the bedroom to find a new quilt and tidied up the bay window as well.

I found her two more sets of clothes that she had never worn before.

The two took turns showering.

With the lights off, Su Miaoyi lay in bed, completely unable to fall asleep.

She opened her eyes, stared at the dark ceiling, and went through everything in her mind.

She knew that Xi Xian was not asleep either.

But it was very quiet; no sound was made.
