Chapter 343 Non-cooperation

After Brother Zheng finished shouting, the interrogation room was quiet for a while.

Lu Xian lowered his eyes and remained silent for a long time.

Zhuang Yanzheng didn't say anything either, just quietly watched him.

After a while, Lu Xian said, "Let me tell you, with your mouth, I've never seen you keep anything a secret except for official business. You exaggerate even the smallest things like the sky is falling. How can I talk to you about it? And what good would it do? Would I owe you a huge favor? From now on, I'll never be able to hold my head up in front of you!"

"You!" Brother Zheng was so angry he couldn't speak.

"I, Lu Xian, have worked my way up from a small town to the Jinghai Municipal Public Security Bureau, always relying on myself and my own abilities. I have never accepted any help from anyone; I earned this through sheer grit!" Lu Xian said resentfully. "Unlike you rich kids who have family support, I don't need anyone's help. I can do it all myself. I can do my job, and I can do everything else!"

"I don't need anyone's charity or pity. I look down on those who rely on their families, and I won't accept any help from them!"

"So you went and killed someone?!" Brother Zheng stood up and roared, "You cheated people out of money! You brainwashed people! You destroyed one family after another! Money laundering! Murder! You did it all! Is this what you call relying on yourself! If you think the salary here is too low and you don't want to stay here, quit your job and find another way to make a living! Why did you have to kill someone! Why should others die just because you rely on yourself!"

Lu Xian's angry and agitated expression froze.

"Are you really relying on yourself? Do you even think you are?" Brother Zheng slammed his fist on the table. "I can understand your pride, I can understand your reluctance to ask for help, but why! Why did you kill someone! You used to hate criminals the most! Why have you become like this!"

"It's all your fault!" Lu Xian suddenly shouted, looking at Zhuang Yanzheng. "It's all your fault! It's all because of you! If it weren't for you, how would I have been exposed! If it weren't for you, I would still be working at the Municipal Bureau. How would I have left here and ended up killing people!"

"You, you!" Brother Zheng slammed his hands on the table, his chest heaving, his eyes bloodshot as he stared at him. "You actually think like this! You're here, obstructing the investigation, acting as their protector, covering for those people to do more evil deeds? Does something not done by you mean it wasn't your doing? You're just as heinous as they are for covering for them!"

Brother Zheng slammed his hand on the table again: "If you have difficulties and don't want to talk to us, you can talk to the bureau, you can talk to the higher-ups, there's always a solution! Why kill people! Those who were killed, those who were swindled out of their money! Aren't they innocent! Some people have saved up their entire lives, even their whole lives, and you just swindle them out of it. You specifically target those who are out of touch with society, uneducated, in urgent need of money, wanting to make money quickly, and the elderly. You're deliberately trying to drive them to their deaths. You have difficulties! Aren't those people innocent!"

As Zheng Ge spoke, he became increasingly distressed, and finally raised his hand to wipe his eyes.

There was a knock on the interrogation room door.

Zhuang Yanzheng turned his head, and Lu Zhishen came in, walked to his side and whispered to him, "We found Fan Hui, but he was already dead at home when we found him."

Zhuang Yanzheng nodded.

Lu Zhishen showed him the photos on his phone again, then left the interrogation room and went outside to listen.

Su Miaoyi and Chu Xingrou looked at him.

“Fan Hui is dead,” Lu Zhishen said. “When we broke down the door, he was lying in the living room with a lot of blood on the back of his head. I did a quick check and found he had been struck hard with a round blunt object. When I came up, I checked the trunk of Lu Xian’s car. There was blood, but not much.”

“After Lu Xian brought Fan Hui home, he committed secondary harm,” Su Miaoyi said.

“It’s been sent to the autopsy lab.” Lu Zhishen took out his phone to show them: “We also found strange letters and numbers in the car. They were written in blood.”

Su Miaoyi and Chu Xingrou both took a look.

Chu Xingrou asked, "E?S? Direction?"

“Fan Hui wrote it, and I saw this scene,” Su Miaoyi said. “The numbers represent time. I found Fan Hui’s neighborhood and discovered Lu Xian by following this direction and time.”

“I see,” Lu Zhishen said. “He didn’t know where Lu Xian was taking him. Maybe he knew he was dying and wanted to leave some clues. Although at the time he thought these clues wouldn’t be discovered and Lu Xian would just leave after killing him, it was the only thing he could do.” Su Miaoyi nodded.

The three then looked toward the interrogation room.

Zhuang Yanzheng asked Brother Zheng to sit down. Brother Zheng didn't say anything more and calmed himself down.

"Why did you kill Fan Hui?" Zhuang Yanzheng asked.

"He's made enough money, so he wants to quit? He knows a lot of things. How can we let someone so fickle live?" Lu Xian said.

"So you had Congyu, Mia's subordinate Twenty-One, kill him three years ago?" Zhuang Yanzheng asked.

“You know quite a lot,” Lu Xian said. “Yes. But Fan Hui realized it too, so he ran away beforehand. We’ve been looking for him all these years. Twenty-one also came to Jinghai to look for him, but couldn’t find him. I don’t know if Fan Hui hid too well, or if Fan Hui wasn’t in Jinghai at that time.”

"Then why did you come by yourself this time?" Zhuang Yanzheng said. "Didn't you say you didn't want to come to Jinghai?"

“I didn’t want to come, I really didn’t want to come,” Lu Xian said. “But I had no choice. I couldn’t find a suitable assassin for the time being, so I had to come in person.”

Su Miaoyi listened to his words from outside.

Their organization recruits new members; it's huge, with many people and a lot of money. However, they probably don't have many capable fighters.

They have plenty of money, so when they need to get rid of someone, they just pay an assassin.

Mia's assassin organization has essentially been wiped out; Lu Xian may simply not have found a suitable assassin.

"With so many assassin organizations on the dark web, why haven't you found a suitable assassin?" Zhuang Yanzheng asked.

“I haven’t found one as good as Mia,” Lu Xian said. “If it’s not as good as Mia, I wouldn’t use it now. I was 21 back then, and I found it very difficult to use.”

That's true, there aren't many who can rival Mia.

Tian Min could be considered one, but Tian Min is not on the dark web.

Su Miaoyi closed her eyes, and suddenly the image of Sister Ying appeared in her mind, and a voice suddenly came from the bottom of her heart.

Sakura is amazing, much more amazing than Mia.

"What about Zhao Yongliang from Changshi?" Zhuang Yanzheng asked. "What happened to him? Why was he able to withdraw safely without being killed?"

Lu Xian looked at him, and after a while, a smile appeared on his lips, but there was no smile in his eyes, only hatred: "I don't know."

"Don't know?" Zhuang Yanzheng looked at him.

“Yes.” Lu Xian raised the corners of his mouth. “I don’t know.”
