Chapter 124 I'll Always Be Behind You

An Min's calm voice came through the microphone.

Qian Xue's heart tightened the moment she heard her voice on the other end of the phone.

"What are you talking about? I don't know."

"Stop pretending. I've already got the stuff. I'm in the Northwest right now, waiting for you to come. If you don't come, I'll hand this evidence over to the police immediately."

After saying this, Anmin placed her hand on her stomach, as if she could feel boundless power by being in close contact with her child.

"I have nothing to say to you. Since you've already obtained the evidence, you should hand it over to the police."

After saying that, Qian Xue hung up the phone.

She didn't believe that Andy On would tell An Min everything; after all, he was involved in this matter.

That idiot, does he want to die?
Qian Xue was certain that An Zhijie wouldn't say it, but in reality, the two of them were already fighting like dogs.

In order to survive, Andy On would naturally tell Min everything.

Only Anmin can save him now and get him out of the detention center.

If he doesn't tell Anmin, does he want her to wait until she is convicted of murder, spend her life in prison, and end up eating peanuts?

Qian Xue's mistake was that she was too confident.

But things have come to this point, and Andy On has no other choice.

He could only survive by clinging tightly to Anmin.

After the call was disconnected, Anmin looked at the scenery outside, a hint of ruthlessness flashing in her eyes.

Since that's the case, she'll give him a big gift.

She's been jumping around for so long, she should die by now.

An Min returned to the hospital, and Liang Yi went up to her and asked her a question.

"How's it going? Has the police accepted the case?"

"It's been accepted, but we still need to wait for him to wake up. There are some questions we need to ask him in person."

An Min sat down in the hospital corridor and, seeing Liang Yi's concerned expression, reached out and wrapped her arms around his waist.

“I just called Qian Xue. I wanted to trick her into coming over, but she seemed certain that Andy On wouldn’t reveal these secrets.”

Actually, Anmin was worried about something else: what if An Zhijie didn't wake up?

Or perhaps, his brain was damaged as a result of this incident.

Can he still provide evidence to the police to bring Qian Xue to justice?
Most importantly, this happened decades ago.

The reason this physical evidence was found was because of Andy On's paranoia, which is why he left these things behind.

He wasn't sure whether there were any other witnesses or physical evidence left from what happened back then.

“Don’t worry, justice will never be late. We have so much evidence in our hands now. Even if Andy On wants to mitigate his crime, he will tell us everything.”

"I just asked the doctor, and thankfully he was rescued in time and is not seriously injured. So, the time to bring Qian Xue to justice will be when he wakes up."

Liang Yi reached out and gently patted An Min from behind to comfort her.

Hearing Liang Yi's words, An Min nodded gently and looked up at him.

"I'm sorry, Liang Yi, I didn't expect there would be so many things, and I'm sorry to have troubled you to come with me."

His wife's words sounded so fragile, yet filled with dependence, which melted Liang Yi's heart with tenderness.

“If you say things like that to me again, I’ll get angry.” “As your husband, am I only supposed to share your joys and not your sorrows? Am I only supposed to enjoy the good things you bring, but not face the bad things with you?”

After saying that, Liang Yi squatted down in front of him.

He gently tucked Anmin's disheveled hair behind her ear with his hand, then pressed his forehead against hers and spoke softly.

“Minmin, I have never seen through you just because you are a woman. I am glad that you are able to do what you want to do.”

“I would much rather see the intelligent and quick-witted you, and I will always stand behind you, ready to help you when you need it. You don’t need to worry about so many things, you just need to think about one thing.”

"I'll take care of everything, so you can just go ahead and do it."

It was those words of thanks and concern about being implicated that truly upset Liang Yi and made him feel alienated.

How can a husband and wife talk like that? If she says that, doesn't it mean she doesn't consider him her husband?
Liang Yi's words made An Min's nerves, which had been tense for days, finally break down, and she buried her face in his arms and cried loudly.

She had always believed that although her parents had no affection for each other, they treated each other with respect, and that her mother had died of natural causes.

But in the past few days, the truths she learned from Andy On have been impacting her already troubled heart, one after another.

Even Anmin was confused. Who was she? Who was her father? What happened back then?
He couldn't even find his own relatives in this world.

The man before her was the only one she could rely on and confide in.

His words gave An Min a sense of peace she had never felt before.

It seems that as long as Liang Yi is around, everything in this world can be resolved.

Liang Yi didn't say anything, but gently patted An Min's back again and again.

After Anmin had vented her emotions, Liang Yi took out a clean handkerchief from his pocket and wiped away her tears.

"It's good to cry it out; it's not good to keep it bottled up inside."

"Oh, right, there's one more thing. I just called my aunt from the hospital, and she knows about this and is on her way."

No matter what, An Min's aunt, An Qing, is An Zhijie's only relative in this world.

Since such a big thing happened, his aunt had the right to know, so Andy On called her.

“You did the right thing. That’s what I was thinking too. Maybe Auntie knows something.”

After he finished speaking, the police officers came over.

With them here tonight, nothing else will happen, so Anmin and Liang Yi can go home and rest.

Returning to her old home, Anmin looked at the furniture covered with white sheets.

In the blink of an eye, it seemed as if she had returned to the time when she and Liang Yi had just gotten married.

Who would have thought that two people who used to dislike each other would now be living such a good life?

"Please sit here and rest for a while. I'll tidy up the house a bit."

After Liang Yi pulled An Min to sit down, he rolled up his sleeves and got to work.

As Liang Yi bustled around the room, An Min suddenly felt her baby kick her gently.

Her eyes widened slightly, and she quickly called Liang Yi over.

"They...they just kicked me."

Upon hearing this, Liang Yi felt a strange sensation. He wanted to reach out, but seeing the dust on his hands, he withdrew them.

"They must think you're bored sitting here and want to keep you company."
