Kyoto kisses her

Chapter 91 Really Want to Confess

Chapter 91 Really Want to Confess
Su Ruoyun held the slender stem of the wine glass, raised her hand to bring the rim to her lips, tilted her head back and took a sip. The rich aroma of the wine spread freely in her mouth, before she could even savor it properly.

Caught off guard, she coughed upon hearing Li Li's words.

"Cough, cough, cough——"

Seeing Su Ruoyun's strong reaction, Li Li realized he had misspoke, cleared his throat somewhat embarrassedly, and quickly changed the subject: "I was just guessing, don't take it seriously, you never know, you never know."

“He just used going out as an excuse to skip out on the bill…” Li Li hurriedly came up with an excuse.

Su Ruoyun casually grabbed a few tissues, gently pressed them to her lips, and carefully wiped away the wine that had dripped onto her lips. After listening to Li Li's words, a few subtle thoughts popped into her head.

Li Li didn't know that the male customer tonight was Huo Jingcheng, so the possibility of him skipping out on the bill is basically zero.

Upon closer examination, what she said seemed to make some sense. Tonight's scene resembled a classic confession scene from a TV drama: a Western restaurant, a violinist hired, and then she excused herself to leave halfway through...

The more Su Ruoyun thought about it, the more uneasy she felt. With this thought in mind, she drank the entire glass of red wine in one gulp.

Her thoughts were interrupted when Huo Jingcheng pushed the door open again, holding his phone in one hand.

"What are you thinking about?" Huo Jingcheng asked.

He pushed open the door and entered, and this was the scene he saw: Su Ruoyun held a wine glass, her delicate fingertips touching the crystal-clear glass. The crimson wine swirled gently in the glass, splashing onto the glass and creating tiny ripples. This vibrant color made her fingertips appear even whiter and more like jade.

Her gaze was lowered thoughtfully, her eyes vacant, as if she were pondering something.

Upon hearing this, Su Ruoyun calmly composed herself and met his gaze. "It's nothing."

Huo Jingcheng looked at her for a couple of seconds, then tugged at his lips, "Have you finished eating?"

"Alright." With that, Su Ruoyun placed the crumpled paper in her palm on the table, then stood up, bent her fingers and ran them through the hem of her skirt, smoothing out the wrinkles left from sitting.

Su Ruoyun paid the bill for tonight. The waiter stood to the side, and she took out her bank card from her bag and handed it over.

The woman paid with the black gold card. The waiter's well-trained face remained expressionless, but an unsettling feeling crept over him.

After the bill was processed, the waiter handed the black gold card back, smiling and saying, "Welcome to visit again." There wasn't a single flaw.

Stepping out of the private room, the two took the elevator downstairs together. Su Ruoyun was still immersed in what Li Li had said and her own thoughts, her brows furrowed slightly, her expression conflicted.

On the other hand, Huo Jingcheng leaned lazily against the elevator wall, occasionally glancing at Su Ruoyun, as if he was thinking about something.

As the elevator slowly descended and the floor number on the display screen gradually approached the first floor, Huo Jingcheng suddenly spoke, breaking the silence in the elevator. His voice was deep and magnetic: "Shall I take you back?"

Since the two were staying at the same hotel, Su Ruoyun did not refuse the invitation and nodded in acceptance.

The elevator descended to the second basement level, and the two stepped out.

Huo Jingcheng, hands in his pockets, strode casually to the car door. He opened it for Su Ruoyun first, then gently placed his large hand on the top of the door, a gentlemanly and considerate gesture. Su Ruoyun gathered her skirt, bent down, and sat in the back of the Rolls-Royce. Looking at the luxurious interior, she saw the gloved driver with his hands on the steering wheel, preparing to start the engine. She muttered to herself, "Just like that?"

Although her voice was barely audible, the space inside the carriage was enclosed and quiet, and Huo Jingcheng, who had sat in the back, still managed to catch the faint sound. He turned his head slightly, his gaze falling on her, and asked with interest, "Otherwise what?"

"What else do you want to do?"

Su Ruoyun opened her eyes wide, glanced at him sideways, turned to look out the car window, and replied indifferently, "It's nothing."

I can't exactly say... I'm wondering if you'll confess your feelings, can I?
As the Rolls-Royce emerged from the underground parking garage, it resembled an elegant behemoth, its sleek lines blending silently into the city's nightscape as it cruised smoothly along the road.

The dim yellow streetlights on both sides shone into the car, illuminating a corner of the interior. Su Ruoyun gazed at the bright lights outside the car window, the dappled light from the streetlights casting dappled shadows on her face, revealing her serene profile.

The journey wasn't long; it took the two of them a little over half an hour to get back to the hotel.

Huo Jingcheng did not bring his assistant Lin Cheng with him tonight. Apart from when there was a driver in the car, it was just the two of them the rest of the time.

Su Ruoyun wondered if she was overthinking it, but ever since Li Li said that, she felt the atmosphere was strange.

"I'm leaving now." Huo Jingcheng's deep voice rang out clearly in the quiet space.

Su Ruoyun casually glanced to the side, but unexpectedly her gaze met his in the bright mirror of the elevator. After a brief eye contact, she looked away and replied, "Okay."

Su Ruoyun stared at Huo Jingcheng's back for a long time without looking away, until the elevator doors slowly closed, cutting off her view.

The elevator smoothly ascended to the next floor, and a crisp "ding" broke the brief silence. Only then did Su Ruoyun come back to her senses and step out of the elevator car.

After returning to her room on the top floor, she planned to remove her makeup and take a shower. However, just as she stood by the coffee table, picked up a glass, and took a sip of water, the cool liquid flowing down her throat, the doorbell suddenly rang.

She subconsciously looked up at the digital clock on the wall, which showed 10:15 p.m.

Su Ruoyun frowned in confusion, wondering who was looking for her. She put the glass back on the coffee table, slipped on her slippers, each step making a slight rustling sound. The carpet seemed to absorb all the sounds as she slowly walked towards the door and opened it.

As soon as the door opened, Huo Jingcheng was standing outside.

Huo Jingcheng leaned against the door frame, arms crossed, his tall figure exuding a casual aura. Seeing the door open, he didn't wait for a greeting, but naturally lifted his foot and prepared to step into the room.

Su Ruoyun was startled and instinctively reached out to block his path: "Hey, what are you doing?"

Huo Jingcheng's steps suddenly halted as she stopped him. His gaze fell on the fair arm that was blocking his way, and for a moment, time seemed to stand still.

Then, he lifted his eyelids, his deep, dark peach blossom eyes looking directly at her, his tone unhurried: "Are you sure you want me to say something very private here?"

If it's private...

Su Ruoyun blinked, her heart leaping into her throat. Could it be... he was really going to confess?
