Chapter 87 Are you this arrogant in front of everyone, or just in front of me?
With Huo Jingcheng present, the police officers at the police station said they would review all the surveillance footage again carefully and do their best to help Su Ruoyun find her handbag.

After leaving her contact information, Su Ruoyun followed closely behind him as they walked out of the police station.

"How did you know I was at the police station? Did you check up on me?"

Huo Jingcheng walks with long strides, and Su Ruoyun has to jog to keep up with him. Realizing this, he immediately slowed down.

Huo Jingcheng glanced at the puzzled look on Su Ruoyun's face, but did not deny that he had investigated Su Ruoyun's location in private. He lazily explained, "I was afraid you would get lost in Da Shencheng."

“I’m not a child,” she denied Huo Jingcheng’s claim that she was “lost,” frowning before questioning, “What right do you have to investigate me?”

"Yes, yes, you're not a child. I'm just afraid my darling will get lost." Huo Jingcheng said casually, his hands in his pockets, glancing at her with a smile.

After a couple of seconds, Su Ruoyun realized that the "baby" Huo Jingcheng was referring to was herself. Goosebumps instantly rose on both arms, and she took a small step to the right in disgust, putting some distance between herself and him.

Huo Jingcheng took in all her subtle movements.

Standing at the entrance of the police station, Su Ruoyun intended to say goodbye to Huo Jingcheng and take a taxi back to the hotel, but unexpectedly he shoved her into his car. It wasn't the Cullinan in Beijing, but it was still a luxury car.

As night falls, the lights are on.

A Rolls-Royce moved gracefully forward like a black phantom, its body lines sleek and dynamic, its interior luxurious. The car drove smoothly through the city at night, and by the time it arrived at the hotel, it was already seven o'clock in the evening, and the city lights were gradually being turned on.

Su Ruoyun touched her slightly sunken stomach. She hadn't eaten for nearly five hours and was already feeling hungry. So, she decided to go back to her room and order dinner to appease her rumbling stomach.

The Rolls-Royce drove straight into the hotel's basement level and parked in an empty spot. The driver didn't rush upstairs; the two of them took the elevator, which went straight up without stopping on any other floors. There were only the two of them in the elevator car.

Su Ruoyun leaned against the elevator wall, holding her phone in one hand, chatting with Su Mingyan. He had just finished a meeting and was asking Su Ruoyun why she had called him.

The police had already made a guarantee, and Su Ruoyun didn't tell Su Mingyan about the matter again. She simply glossed over it, saying only that something had happened, but the matter had been resolved.

She suddenly realized that Su Mingyan's meeting had been going on for a long time and he hadn't eaten dinner either, so she stopped chatting and hurriedly urged him to go eat.

No new messages popped up in the chat box. Su Ruoyun deleted the chat from the background, straightened up slightly, and watched as the numbers on the elevator display kept changing. Soon they arrived at the top two floors.

With a "ding," the elevator doors slowly slid open. Seeing Huo Jingcheng about to step out of the elevator, Su Ruoyun hurriedly said goodbye.

Huo Jingcheng raised an eyebrow, his fingertips firmly pressing the door open button. He turned to look at her, his voice languid, "Don't you want the things anymore?"

Su Ruoyun was taken aback for a moment, then realized he was referring to the bag. Her eyes lit up instantly, filled with joy, and she blurted out, "You found it?"

Huo Jingcheng did not respond. He walked slowly and leisurely out, each step showing nonchalance.

Seeing this, Su Ruoyun quickly stepped out of the elevator and followed.

Entering the room felt like stepping into Huo Jingcheng's private space. With a "snap," the lights in the room turned on, illuminating the room.

Huo Jingcheng reached out and unbuttoned his trench coat, taking it off one by one from top to bottom. He casually draped the coat aside, rolled up the sleeves of his shirt to his forearms to reveal a small section of his muscular forearms, and walked leisurely to the sofa by the French windows. He sat down, leaned back slightly, and crossed his legs naturally, adopting a rather casual posture.

In stark contrast to Huo Jingcheng's casual demeanor, Su Ruoyun was noticeably more nervous. Her heart was pounding like a rabbit's, and she felt uneasy, deliberately keeping a safe distance from him.

Huo Jingcheng stared at her slow movements, flicked the cigarette case, and a cigarette was knocked out. He skillfully lit the cigarette, and as the spark flickered, bluish-white smoke rose from the slender cigarette, lingering around his long fingertips and creating a halo.

Su Ruoyun secretly regretted that she had been too hasty in following him into the room without thinking. A sense of unease welled up in her heart, and she quickly asked, "Where's my bag?"

"They're on their way," Huo Jingcheng said truthfully, stubbing out a cigarette.

Hearing him say that, she breathed a slight sigh of relief and then said, "Then I'll go back to my room first. If the package arrives, please..."

Before she could finish speaking, Huo Jingcheng interrupted her, saying, "I'm too lazy to bother."

"Come here." His deep voice rang out, carrying an air of unyielding authority.

Su Ruoyun hesitated for a few seconds before finally stepping forward, her tone indifferent: "What are you doing?"

Huo Jingcheng stretched out his long arm and pulled her into his arms. The unique fragrance of gardenia wafted in, like a wisp of soft mist, into his nostrils. The fragrance was delicate and cool, just the right amount of subtlety.

Instead of the awkward face-to-face sitting posture from before, this time, Su Ruoyun sat sideways between Huo Jingcheng's legs with her legs together.

After many 'trials', Su Ruoyun had almost gotten used to it, her expression indifferent and calm. "Let go, release me."

As soon as she finished speaking, she felt a warmth on her neck. The man buried his head in the side of her neck, his breath spraying onto her fair skin, as if an electric current was running through her. Then, her collarbone was bitten, and she felt a faint pain.

"You pervert!"

“You kissed me last time too.” Huo Jingcheng raised his head slightly and glanced at her.

"I...I was having an accident," Su Ruoyun hurriedly explained, her cheeks flushing slightly, but her explanation was reasonable and well-founded.

Last time, she accidentally turned her head and happened to touch Huo Jingcheng's lips.

Huo Jingcheng gave a meaningful "Oh" and nodded seriously. "If I kiss you, I'm a pervert; if you kiss me, it's an accident. I think you shouldn't be a teahouse owner; it's a waste of your talent. You should be a judge in the High Court, a presiding judge."

"You talk back when I say something to you. Are you this arrogant in front of everyone, or just in front of me?"

His eyes closed slightly, his long, narrow eyes narrowing into a handsome arc as they met her flustered gaze. "Or are you so confident that you know I can't do anything to you?"
