sister?
The young men present had just been struck by Su Ruoyun's words about the Sydney Opera House and the Vienna Golden Hall, and before they could recover, Su Jiayi's affectionate "sister" left them even more bewildered.

Weren't they supposed to be a sister by blood or a god-sister? How did they become a biological sister?

That "sister" came out so naturally.

Su Jiayi's temperament meant that not everyone was willing to call him "sister." Among his cousins, everyone called him "brother." Only his cousin from his own family, plus the "sister" that Su Mingyan had introduced earlier, and the "singer" that Su Ruoyun had mentioned—that Madam Su was a representative figure in national-level arts performances before her retirement.

Combining the three factors, the young men present were finally certain that the person before them was the Crown Princess of the Su family. After much deliberation and careful consideration, they came to their senses.

"It's nothing, just chatting." Su Ruoyun smiled slightly, without revealing the content of their conversation.

Su Jiayi casually dragged a stool over from the side, slung it behind Su Ruojun, and plopped down in a lazy and unrestrained posture, his long legs crossed, exuding a relaxed aura, clearly indicating that he was 'backing her up'.

He had just gone outside to answer a phone call. As soon as he came back in, he heard these people asking him all sorts of questions, like the police checking household registrations. And his sister was surprisingly patient and answered them all.

After the game ended, the other three losers willingly gave their chips to Su Ruoyun.

Su Ruoyun neatly placed the winnings on the chess and card table, sensing the unspoken words between them, and took the initiative to get up and leave.

Everyone's eyes seemed glued to Su Ruoyun, watching her gracefully walk out of the private room until the door closed. In an instant, the previously oppressive atmosphere was released like a flood bursting its banks, and the room erupted in chaos.

"Is this really your sister?"

Su Jiayi crossed his legs, raised an eyebrow, and said in a nonchalant tone, "Otherwise what? Didn't my brother introduce you a long time ago? Why are you still asking him so many questions? What, are you planning to start working as a police officer tomorrow?"

His tone was so intimidating that the people around him quickly denied it: "No, we thought that President Su brought the boss's wife."

Su Jiayi was stationed in the military region and was not very aware of the rumors circulating outside. Upon hearing this, he couldn't help but ask, "What boss lady?"

"She's the owner of that 'Yichuan Tobacco' teahouse. We thought it was your brother who brought Xiaoxing'er, whom he was raising outside, here."

As soon as he finished speaking, Su Jiayi's face darkened, a storm cloud looming over him. His voice was low and menacing: "What little Xing'er? That teahouse is owned by my sister. Where did you get all this nonsense from?"

The speaker's tone was full of shock, with an involuntary rise in his voice: "The teahouse owner is your sister?!"

Su Jiayi nodded slightly, picked up the wine glass placed on the black walnut square side table, and gently swirled it while warning again: "If I hear you spreading rumors again, I'll have the police arrest you all."

The group cautiously pressed on, unsure: "Is your sister really running the teahouse?"

After receiving Su Jiayi's confirmation, everyone was stunned for a moment, and only then did they realize that the Su family had made all the money.

Another rumor came to mind.

"And that three-courtyard house is...?"

"That courtyard house was a gift from my grandmother to my sister when she turned eighteen, a gift that marked her coming of age."

"..." One by one, the rumors were debunked.

"..." The people around them were discussing it all at once.

Su Ruoyun, who had already left the private room, was completely unaware of what had happened inside. She had just drunk three large glasses of alcohol and was feeling a bit tipsy and dizzy. She found a quiet place to sober up.

The private club was quiet and elegant, with lush bamboo groves swaying gracefully and layers of bamboo shadows. She strolled leisurely along the cobblestone path and finally sat down on a plastic wood bench in the courtyard.

After the evening breeze dissipated the smell of alcohol, Su Ruoyun didn't rush back to the private room; instead, she went to the restroom first.

Stepping out of the restroom, she turned on the tap, letting the running water drip onto her fingertips. As she reached for the hand sanitizer, a thick shadow appeared beside her.

In front of the public washbasin, a tall and slender figure was clearly reflected in the large mirror.

It's common to bump into people in the handwashing area, so Su Ruoyun didn't pay much attention and focused on washing her hands, carefully following the seven-step handwashing method, rubbing her palms and the backs of her hands until they were covered in clean white foam.

In the cramped space, there was only the sound of flowing water from two places. Suddenly, a low laugh drifted to her ears. The fleeting laugh seemed to carry an invisible hook, gently pulling at her. Su Ruoyun subconsciously turned her head, lifted her eyelids, and looked directly at the person next to her.

Their eyes met, but in just a second or two, the warm yellow light from the chandelier above cast dappled shadows. The moment Su Ruoyun saw the other person's handsome face, she instantly turned her head away expressionlessly, lowered her eyes, and put her hands underwater to rinse them clean.

Seeing this, Huo Jingcheng's lips curled into a faint smile, his deep eyes filled with mockery.

After washing his hands, he pulled out a tissue to dry them, slowly wiping away the water stains. Then, he leaned casually against the sink, knocked a cigarette out of his pack, chuckled, and looked up at her: "I didn't expect that Miss Su and I would be so destined for each other."

The double sink was close to his, and the delicate, sweet scent of mimosa blossoms wafted into his nostrils, along with a subtle hint of citrus.

Su Ruoyun lowered her head, her eyebrows and eyes drooping, her long eyelashes drooping like butterfly wings. She stared at the handful of water in her palm and retorted lightly, "Isn't it just a case of enemies meeting on a narrow road?"

As soon as she finished speaking, Huo Jingcheng deliberately misinterpreted her meaning, his words carrying a hint of ambiguity, "You want to be my enemy?"

"..." Su Ruoyun.

"Enemies" can refer to lovers who are deeply in love or to mortal enemies.

Su Ruoyun meant "enemy," but Huo Jingcheng insisted on calling her "lover."

She rolled her eyes without hesitation, turned off the tap, and without even drying her hands, prepared to leave.

Huo Jingcheng didn't light a cigarette, but just held the slender cigarette in his hand and played with it, lighting it one after another on the edge of the sink.

As they brushed past each other, a wafting fragrance wafted to his nose. In an instant, Huo Jingcheng detected a hint of rich wine. He called out to her in a leisurely tone:
"Miss Su,"

Suddenly called by name, Su Ruoyun stopped in her tracks and turned to look at Huo Jingcheng.

He spoke slowly, his lazy tone carrying a hint of certainty: "You've been drinking again."
