Chapter 55: A Blatant 'Threat' from Huo Jingcheng

Su Ruoyun's head felt like it had been hit by a heavy hammer, and with a "boom," it exploded instantly. She opened her eyes wide and said seriously, "I didn't."

"How can you guarantee you didn't?" Huo Jingcheng raised an eyebrow and glanced at her, observing her reaction.

“I—” Su Ruoyun pursed her lips, momentarily at a loss for words, and could only dryly explain, “I’m not that kind of person.”

Upon hearing this, Huo Jingcheng let out a soft chuckle, the corners of his mouth curving into an obvious expression of disbelief.

Seeing his expression, she frowned and tried hard to search her memory of last night, but she really couldn't recall ever touching Huo Jingcheng inappropriately.

After bumping into Huo Jingcheng at the corner, it seemed like they ended up in the parking garage. Then, she remembered Huo Jingcheng carrying her on his back, and then...

Su Ruoyun couldn't remember.

Just as her thoughts drifted away, Huo Jingcheng, sitting on the sofa, spoke again, his tone carrying a hint of accusation, "Then how do you explain what happened at the bar last time?"

"Last time what—" The bar incident?

Before Su Ruoyun could finish speaking, corresponding memories automatically popped into her mind—scenes she thought were from a dream.

A wave of unrest, a wave of up again.

She immediately looked up at him, glanced quickly at Huo Jingcheng, and then lowered her eyes somewhat guiltily, her curled eyelashes fluttering gently like butterfly wings.

Seeing her guilty look, Huo Jingcheng understood that she had remembered what had happened.

"You remember everything now, right?" he asked her, raising his chin in a lazy tone.

There was a brief silence in the air.

"...I don't remember." Su Ruoyun lifted her eyelids, speaking with a self-righteous but unconvincing tone.

After much deliberation, she decided to deny it. She tilted her head back, glanced at him sideways, and casually tossed out, "Where's the evidence?"

Upon hearing this, Huo Jingcheng leaned over, reached for his phone on the coffee table, and a meaningful smile appeared on his lips. As he tapped the screen, he asked, "Do you really want evidence?"

“If I were to take it out, you might not be able to leave here today.” He deliberately dragged out the words.

Faced with Huo Jingcheng's blatant 'threat,' Su Ruoyun thought for a moment and quickly changed her mind: "Then forget it."

Seeing this, Huo Jingcheng nodded slightly, his dark eyes fixed on the girl half-lying on the bed opposite him, and asked in an unquestionable manner: "Tell me, how do you plan to take responsibility?"

Responsible? Responsible for what?

What responsibility does she have to bear towards a man who has been with countless women?

Su Ruoyun blinked, her eyes widening slightly as she sensed something was wrong. "Why didn't you stop me last night and before?"

After he finished speaking, Huo Jingcheng paused for a moment, his slender fingers tapping lightly on the sofa armrest.

He thought for only a second before raising his eyebrows, looking calm and casual, and said, "With your strength, how could I stop you?"

Su Ruoyun knew she had a strong grip, so she glanced at Huo Jingcheng suspiciously. Seeing his serious expression, she subtly pursed her lips, seemingly believing him.

Then I heard him ask again, "How can a girl like you have such a strong grip?"

Su Ruoyun briefly mentioned, "I learned a few moves from my second aunt before."

Huo Jingcheng was also familiar with the relationships within the Su family. Su Ruoyun's second aunt, Lin Zi, had a military background. No wonder he stared thoughtfully at the glass on the coffee table.

As she lifted the covers and got out of bed, putting on the shoes by the bedside, she continued, "Later, I learned to play the piano. I carried the piano with me all day long, going on and off stage to perform and practice. Gradually, I became proficient."

As she spoke, Su Ruoyun bent down, her slender hands tying her shoelaces into a tight bow. Then, she straightened up, reached for her car keys on the bedside table, and prepared to leave. Before she even reached the door, a man blocked her path.

After getting used to it, Su Ruoyun felt that his naked body was not so eye-catching anymore. Her eyes swept over his unusually good figure, and she cleared her throat, pretending to be calm. "I'm going home. Don't block my way."

"Do you have a car?"

No, the car should still be parked in the parking lot.

She looked up, her tone slightly polite, "Could you please have the driver give me a ride?"

"Don't drivers get weekends off?" Huo Jingcheng's tone rose at the end, carrying a hint of arrogant questioning. Then, before Su Ruoyun could respond, he continued, "I'll take you."

Su Ruoyun forced a stiff smile and squeezed out four words: "There's absolutely no need for that."

But Huo Jingcheng wouldn't let her refuse. He picked up the clothes from the sofa and casually put them on. When he was about to put on his trousers, he was about to pull off the bath towel. Just as his fingertips touched the edge of the towel, he glanced at Su Ruoyun beside him.

Their eyes met unexpectedly. Su Ruoyun, bewildered, raised an eyebrow, somewhat puzzled.

Seeing this, Huo Jingcheng smiled faintly and said in a low voice, "Want to see?"

His deep, husky male voice carried a hint of elusive ambiguity.

Upon hearing this, Su Ruoyun's eyes involuntarily darted downwards, and suddenly, her ears turned red, and she hurriedly turned around.

A dozen minutes later, inside the car, all the windows were tightly closed.

Huo Jingcheng rested one hand on the steering wheel, turning it casually, and glanced at her sideways. "Does what you did to me at the bar that time even out with what I did to you before?"

Su Ruoyun let out a muffled "hmm".

Huo Jingcheng then said, "If you ever take advantage of me again while drunk..."

She quickly assured them, "Don't worry, I won't get drunk again. From now on... I won't drink anymore."

He casually tossed out a sentence: "Who knows?" His tone was as light as a feather, both casual and alluring.

"..." Su Ruoyun simply closed her eyes and chose to play dead.

A dozen minutes later, the Cullinan stopped in front of the apartment building. Su Ruoyun deftly unbuckled her seatbelt and politely thanked him, "Thank you, Mr. Huo."

After she finished speaking, she reached for the car door, only to find it locked.

Su Ruoyun frowned slightly and turned to look at Huo Jingcheng, "Excuse me, could you open the car door?"

Before he could finish speaking, the man in the driver's seat suddenly leaned over and kissed him.

Suddenly, a powerful force swept over her, and a man's thin lips pressed heavily against hers, their noses touching. Su Ruoyun instinctively closed her eyes.

But the next second, without any hesitation, all notions of settling the score or being even were forgotten. She raised her hand and slapped Huo Jingcheng across the face.

A loud "smack" quickly spread throughout the car.

Seeing her resentful expression, Huo Jingcheng pressed his tongue against the roof of his mouth, calmly picked up the phone from the dashboard, and tapped the recorder.

Immediately afterwards, the audio recording from last night came out, with ambiguous conversations and faint sounds of water splashing, instantly spreading wildly in the enclosed car.

Mr. Huo had a mental tally: one time at the bar, two times at the bar (crossed out), one time at the teahouse, one time in the car (crossed out), oh~ there were two more times he could kiss her.
