Chapter 130 Little Bamboo, you're so clever! You won't let me stay overnight?

Huo Jingcheng, with an air of nonchalance, casually twirled a strand of Su Ruoyun's hair with his long, slender fingers, gently twisting it between his fingertips, the smooth texture of his fingers touching it. "Yes, so what?"

"How did you snatch it from him?" Su Ruoyun blinked, her bright and beautiful eyes filled with curiosity.

The business world adheres to the principle of relying on one's own abilities and prioritizing interests. Business people operate independently, and even among relatives and friends, it is inevitable that they will fight tooth and nail for a little bit of profit.

Therefore, Su Ruoyun had no intention of questioning Huo Jingcheng about winning the project; she was simply curious.

Huo Jingcheng smiled and slowly raised an eyebrow, asking, "Guess?"

His feigned mystery only fueled Su Ruojun's annoyance.

Her glassy eyes darted up and down, and she could only think of one possibility: "Are you deliberately lying to him, playing dirty tricks behind his back?"

Upon hearing this, Huo Jingcheng frowned slightly, clicked his tongue in dissatisfaction, and gently tugged at Su Ruoyun's hair, which was tangled between his fingers, without daring to use too much force. "In your eyes, is this the kind of person your boyfriend is?"

Seeing her bewildered expression, Huo Jingcheng loosened his grip, gently lifting his fingertip to stroke her eyelids with an indescribably tender and affectionate gesture. "Do you remember last time in Shanghai?"

Under the gentle touch of his fingertips, Su Ruoyun fell into thought, her eyelashes trembling slightly.

It wasn't long ago, and she remembered it after a moment's thought: "The time my bag was lost."

My trip to Shanghai was unforgettable, except for the memory of my bag being stolen.

“Yes.” Huo Jingcheng guided her, saying, “Think about who’s in Shanghai, and who have you met?”

Who are the people she's met who can be connected to Huo Jingcheng?
Su Ruoyun tilted her head, her almond-shaped eyes slightly narrowed, as if searching her mind for relevant memories, and asked with a hint of uncertainty, "Meng Lizhou?"

Xu Erhan's childhood betrothed was a man who "splurged a fortune" at the auction, but whose health wasn't very good.

Su Ruoyun had a deep impression of him and was afraid that Xu Erhan would become a widow.

As he finished speaking, Huo Jingcheng twirled a strand of her hair between his fingers and praised her, "Yes, Little Bamboo, you're so clever."

It was a tone of voice used to coax a child.

The faint scent of irises, like lingering, tender threads of love, wrapped around his long, slender, fair fingers. Huo Jingcheng couldn't help but lower his head and take a deep breath near her hair. The delicate, sweet fragrance filled his nostrils and permeated his lungs.

Su Ruoyun's ears turned red at his tone and words. She clutched his shirt sleeve, twisting the pristine fabric into swirling vortexes. Forcing herself to straighten, she continued, "So you teamed up with him to 'manipulate' my brother?"

Huo Jingcheng was amused by her words, a smile curving his thin lips. He embraced her, and the two of them fell back onto the sofa. The downy sofa sank in, steadily supporting the two of them and the cat.

The two lay on their backs, facing the ceiling, their sharply defined jaws tracing a graceful arc in the air, the dazzling, cold light of the crystal chandelier above reflecting in their dark pupils.

Su Ruoyun turned to the side, carefully avoiding the glaring light, and rested her head on Huo Jingcheng's strong arm, her posture like that of a docile fat cat nestled in her arms. She commented with a half-sigh, "You're so unfair."

Two people against one, how could one possibly win? Su Ruoyun felt sorry for her brother. Huo Jingcheng's eyes flashed with a barely perceptible smirk as he deliberately teased her, his voice carrying a lazy air: "That's not fair. Then I'll ask him what he wants to build in the new city another day, and I'll build him a skyscraper?"

His tone was sarcastic.

"That won't do." Upon hearing his words, Su Ruoyun raised her chin and responded without hesitation, her voice crisp and clear, conveying a sense of self-righteousness despite her lack of conviction.

She quickly reached out and pressed his forearm, straightened her back, and turned her head to meet Huo Jingcheng's deep peach blossom eyes, the corners of his eyes curving upwards.

Fearing he hadn't taken her words to heart, Su Ruoyun slowly repeated to confirm, "No, you can't, do you hear me?"

What kind of talk is it for her boyfriend to build a landmark building for her brother?

Seeing that he remained unmoved, Su Ruoyun couldn't help but frown and click her tongue lightly as a reminder.

Before she could react, her vision went completely dark, the light was mercilessly taken away, and the surrounding air disappeared. Huo Jingcheng raised his hand and grabbed her chin, applying a little force to make her tilt her head back. Then, he leaned down and kissed her with his hot, thin lips.

The attack was fierce, and Su Ruoyun leaned back, only able to tilt her head back to endure it. Her hands subconsciously rose up and wrapped around his neck, clasping together behind his neck.

By the end of the kiss, Su Ruoyun felt as if her entire chin was wrapped in a wet and sticky film, which was very uncomfortable.

She turned her head away slightly, but Huo Jingcheng immediately turned her face back, stared at her with deep eyes for a while, and then lowered his head to kiss her rouge-colored lips.

After a while, he finally left, a slight smile playing on his lips, revealing his good mood. Under Su Ruoyun's resentful gaze, Huo Jingcheng raised his hand and gently wiped away the stain with his thumb.

Su Ruoyun still felt uncomfortable. She kicked her legs like a kitten and broke free from his embrace. She put her hands on the edge of the coffee table, picked up the tissue box, took out a tissue, and slowly wiped herself clean.

On the other side, Huo Jingcheng released his large hand, leaned over to reach the phone from the coffee table, held it with one hand, pressed a button, and the screen lit up. The time was already 11:15.

Sitting to the side, Su Ruoyun also noticed the time. It was getting late, so she politely asked them to leave, "It's getting late..."

The implication is that you should leave.

Huo Jingcheng understood what she meant. He lightly raised his right hand, which was resting on the sofa cushion, and decisively took his suit jacket from the sofa armrest.

The custom-made suit is of superior quality, with the black fabric subtly gleaming under the light. He casually smoothed out the wrinkles with both hands and draped the suit jacket over his elbows.

Su Ruoyun saw him to the door.

The wall lamp in the entryway cast a dusky glow, enveloping the two people and creating a late-night atmosphere.

Su Ruoyun gathered her hair, her long, smooth hair cascading down her back, her appearance delicate and gentle. She reminded her, "It's so late, drive carefully."

Upon hearing this, Huo Jingcheng turned around, leaning against the doorframe with one hand. Instead of leaving immediately, he trapped her in the narrow space between him and the wall, his voice extremely low, "It's so late, aren't you going to let me stay the night?"
