Douluo: This Legend of the Dragon King is not quite right

Chapter 574 Taking a Few Immortal Herbs

His voice trembled slightly, almost imperceptibly, stemming from a deep fear of the power of heaven and earth:
"As you said, we are just lucky. We have the skill, but we lack the foundation and potential accumulated over many years to match it!"

"We plant-type soul beasts are inherently more fragile than animal-type soul beasts, making it even more difficult for us to withstand heavenly tribulations. In the first tens of thousands of years after the birth of the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well, almost all plants with a cultivation level of 100,000 years were reduced to ashes under the heavenly tribulation, with less than one in a hundred surviving!"

"It wasn't until many years later, thanks to incredible luck and extremely unique inherent attributes, that some of my companions began to successfully transcend their tribulations and advance to become ferocious beasts. But the proportion was still despairingly low!"

The sound of the tulip was filled with sorrow.

"It can be said that if one out of a hundred 100,000-year-old soul beasts were born here, it would be considered extremely lucky if even one of them successfully survived the first tribulation!"

"And those who, like me, are fortunate enough to survive the second Heavenly Tribulation are extremely rare. As for the third Heavenly Tribulation..."

He gave a bitter smile and shook his head:

"I am absolutely certain that I will never be able to get through this. The only outcome is the complete annihilation of my body and soul."

“That’s why…” He looked at Hyotei, his eyes filled with a desperate rationality, “If we have no certainty whatsoever, we would rather use a secret technique to suppress the emergence of higher intelligence in our companions who later reached the 100,000-year level!”

"Without wisdom, they will not incur the wrath of the heavens. Even if the heavenly tribulation still descends due to the energy level, its power will be much weaker. Only with the joint protection of the six of us can they survive and live a little longer."

"The Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well now has six ferocious beasts that have broken through the 100,000-year level, which is the largest number and the most prosperous period since its birth."

"Even so, ten thousand years from now, when the next Heavenly Tribulation cycle arrives, how many of us six will still be left... no one can say for sure." His voice finally lowered, filled with endless desolation.

Upon hearing this, everyone suddenly understood why those immortal herbs in the valley, whose energy fluctuations had reached the level of 100,000 years, were so ignorant of their spiritual intelligence.

It's not that they are inherently stupid, but rather that they are deliberately suppressed, living in a state akin to the living dead, in exchange for a longer lifespan.

This is a tragic choice made out of necessity under the cruel rules of nature.

Lu Jun ignored the grief of the immortal herbs and ferocious beasts, and turned to look at Harosa, who stood silently beside him like a statue, and asked the key question:

"You've heard the situation. These six immortal herb beasts, limited by the heavenly tribulation and their original forms, probably cannot easily stay away from the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Eye for long."

"When we go to Shrek Academy to deal with the Golden Tree, how can you guarantee that they will arrive on time and be effective?"

Harosa's pale face remained expressionless, as if he had already considered this question. He extended two fingers, as if carved from gray jade, and said calmly:
"There are two options. First, I can use my authority as the representative of the plane to draw upon a portion of the life essence of the Douluo plane during the operation, temporarily empowering them and creating a temporary plane protection effect."

"This protection can greatly enhance their vitality and resistance to negative energy in a short period of time, enough to ensure that even after they are far away from the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well, they can still hold out for a sufficient amount of time in the Golden Ancient Tree Battlefield and play their due role."

"Secondly," Harosa's gaze shifted to the Ice Abyss Sword in Lu Jun's hand, which exuded a chilling aura, "Your divine weapon contains a universe within it, forming its own extremely cold microcosm, and its life force is pure. You may temporarily store these within the sword's internal space and carry it yourself."

"The power of the divine artifact is enough to isolate the perception of external laws, delay or even block the locking of the heavenly tribulation, and also ensure their safe arrival."

Upon hearing this, Lu Jun shook his head decisively without even thinking and chose the first option.

"No need for trouble, you can just use your dimensional authority to protect them."

His tone was crisp and decisive, even carrying a hint of undisguised disdain.

His gaze swept over the ferocious beasts like Qiluo and Tulip, not even lingering for a moment longer.

In short, he had a very poor impression of these immortal herbs, which, although they had lived for tens of thousands of years, were mostly scheming and timid. Should he let them enter his natal artifact?

Don't even think about it.

Harosa seemed unsurprised by Lu Jun's choice, nodding slightly.
"As you wish."

No matter how tortuous the process, the turmoil surrounding the Yin-Yang Eye of Ice and Fire has finally come to an end.

Harosa didn't delay any longer and began to implement his methods.

The gray crystal on his forehead shone brightly again, and he pressed his hands lightly against the earth, activating the spatial laws hidden deep within the plane.

The scene around the valley began to distort and blur, with the seven-colored poisonous miasma churning violently, as if the entire space was being slowly peeled away and shifted by an invisible force.

This involves modifying and reinforcing the coordinates of the independent small space where the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Eyes are located to ensure its safety.

Once completed, the responsibility of protecting this place will be officially transferred to the Yuanen family.

Before Lu Jun turned around to leave with everyone, his gaze fell once again on the vibrant valley.

Without any politeness, he spread his divine sense like a net, precisely locking onto more than a dozen immortal herbs with the most abundant energy and an age of more than 100,000 years.

Among them was a strange, golden Ganoderma lucidum, a deep blue flower that seemed to exhale starlight, and a cluster of yellow roots that emanated the heavy aura of the earth...

He casually reached out and grabbed at the air, his soul power transforming into an invisible hand that perfectly captured the selected immortal herbs, along with some of their roots and soil, and stored them in a jade box that he had prepared beforehand.

The movements were fluid and seamless, without the slightest hesitation.

Seeing Lu Jun so casually take away those dozen or so precious herbs that could be considered the treasures of the valley, the hearts of the six ferocious beasts, including Qiluo Tulip, were bleeding. Their facial muscles twitched, but they dared not speak out in anger. They could only show expressions of extreme frustration and heartache.

Once Lu Jun and the others had completely disappeared from the distorted spatial entrance, Qi Luo Tulip suddenly raised her head and looked at Harosa, who was still in place, responsible for stabilizing the spatial transfer. Her tone was filled with suppressed resentment and sarcasm:
"Hmph, your so-called representative of this dimension doesn't seem so impressive!"

"We can't even protect the natural treasures nurtured by the Douluo Continent itself; we can only watch helplessly as they are plundered!"

Harosa responded to the complaints of the Kira Tulip with only a very slight, yet disdainful sneer.

His eyes, as deep as the Styx, swept indifferently over the brocade tulips, his voice icy and devoid of any warmth:
"The law of the jungle, where the strong prey on the weak, is an eternal and unchanging law of the universe."

"Those who are weak are destined to be slaughtered and depend on others."

"If you possessed absolute strength that could crush everything, how could you have fallen to this state, where you need the charity of others to survive?"

He paused, his tone carrying a final warning:

"Shut your mouths and fulfill your oaths properly. If you dare to say another word and provoke that lord to change his mind and kill you... then I will not say a word for you."

The cold words were like a final bucket of cold water, completely extinguishing the last embers of resentment in Qiluo Tulip's heart.

His face was deathly pale. He opened his mouth, but ultimately couldn't utter a single word. He slumped down, lowered his head, and silently merged into the slowly fading light and shadow of the valley along with the other ferocious beasts. (End of Chapter)
