Under One Person: My Inner Realm Connects to All Worlds!

Chapter 244 On the Road, a Dragon Beneath the Dam

Chapter 244 On the Road, a Dragon Beneath the Dam

After listening to Han Yun's account, Zhao Fangxu fell into deep thought. After a long while, he sighed, "We're in trouble!"

His brows furrowed, and Zhao Fangxu still had a question.

"I've been pondering a question: why is it that so many dangers are sealed away on our land of China alone? Is there some underlying pattern to this?"

Han Yun's eyes flickered slightly as he recalled what Zhang Zhiwei had said earlier. He slowly said, "The old Celestial Master just mentioned that the key lies in the geographical location of Shenzhou. This is the ancestral home of all dragon veins in the world, and the place where the Qi of heaven and earth converges."

"Kunlun Mountains?"

Zhao Fangxu seemed to understand something.

"Exactly."

Han Yun walked to the huge map on the wall and traced the majestic Kunlun Mountains with his fingertip: "Kunlun is the ancestor of all mountains and the source of the dragon veins. Three main dragon veins extending from Kunlun run through the land: the northern dragon reaches Youyan, the central dragon runs through Qinchuan, and the southern dragon reaches Minyue."

"These three main dragons gave birth to countless branch dragons and smaller dragons, making China the place with the most abundant Qi of heaven and earth."

"This is unparalleled by any other region. In short, our land is blessed with outstanding natural resources and has naturally better conditions to nourish all living things."

"And so all sorts of spirits and monsters were born, as well as... spirits formed from ley lines!"

"Especially in ancient times, the land of China was a scene of chaos and demons running rampant. The Yellow Emperor fought Chiyou, Yu the Great imprisoned Wuzhiqi, and Jiang Ziya conferred titles upon the gods..."

"Behind these legends lies a fierce struggle between the ancients and the evil spirits, monsters, and heretics of heaven and earth. The victors suppressed them at the nodes of the dragon veins, using the power of heaven and earth to diminish their ferocity."

Han Yun tapped a few marks on the map: "Look, Dujiangyan suppresses the evil dragon at the eye of the Minjiang River, Leifeng Pagoda suppresses the white snake in the Qiantang River vein, Mount Tai seals the ghost capital at the head of the Eastern Peak, and the previous Mianshan is located in the heart of China, and Mount Li is located in the reverse position of the dragon vein. Every sealed place is a vital point of the dragon vein."

Zhao Fangxu gasped: "So, this means we've actually been sitting on a powder keg all along?"

"That's understandable."

Han Yun's expression was solemn: "For thousands of years, our Buddhist and Taoist predecessors have continuously reinforced these seals to maintain the peace we enjoy today. But now..."

He didn't finish his sentence, but Zhao Fangxu already understood.

Hundreds of years ago, the previous dynasty carried out a large-scale extermination of extraordinary people among the common people. Decades ago, the land of China was submerged, and the number of extraordinary people was greatly reduced. And then there was the 1960s and beyond... plus the erosion of time.

In short, these seals have now loosened, and those beings suppressed for thousands of years are awakening. Organizations like Takamagahara are clearly trying to take advantage of this situation.

Of course, this is just one example; other places have also suffered similar calamities as China.

However, these calamities were quelled and became myths and legends like those of China.

For example, in some foreign mythologies, there are often many steel heroes who are war gods who slay dragons and snakes and demonstrate their martial prowess, while the earth goddess symbolizes the abundance of the earth and the nurturing of life. There is often a relationship of conquest and opposition between them.

Among them, the Earth Mother Goddess is actually a spirit transformed from the dragon vein.

Steel Heroes often achieve their divine feats by conquering dragons or serpents, which symbolize the fallen form of Mother Earth.

This "god" can actually be seen as someone who, after bathing in the blood of the dragon vein and receiving benefits such as a significant improvement in their physical attributes, has reached an unprecedented level of extraordinary ability.

Therefore, the situation in China is not an isolated case. It's just that, for some reason, the number of evil spirits in China is much higher than in other places.

Other countries may only have four or five, or even one or two, scourges, which have already been sealed away by the "wise men," but China is different.

Blessed with the finest spirits of heaven and earth and the wonders of nature, this magical land of China has given birth to both these wicked spirits and the sages of humankind!

It's like yin and yang, always in a state of balance.

However, this balance was broken by some kind of "interference" from the outside world, namely the invasion of other regions and the chaos among human races.

The history of extraordinary people in China can actually be seen as a process of coexistence between humans and nature.

First, they struggled against nature, striving tirelessly to establish their own civilization; then, as they developed, various conflicts arose between humanity and nature.

Those malevolent spirits can also be a part of nature.

The ancient sages of China had already discovered this principle, explained it, and put it into practice. This principle is called the Dao!

The Tao Te Ching states: "Man follows the earth, the earth follows heaven, heaven follows the Tao, and the Tao follows nature." This "nature" refers not only to the natural world as we commonly understand it, but also to the inherent laws governing the operation of heaven and earth.

The *Huangdi Yinfu Jing* states: "Heaven and earth steal from all things, all things steal from man, and man steals from all things. When these three thefts are in harmony, the three realms (heaven, earth, and man) are at peace." This speaks to the interdependent and mutually restrictive relationship between heaven and earth, all things, and man. If this balance is broken, chaos and disorder will inevitably ensue.

The Buddhist Avatamsaka Sutra also states: All sentient beings possess the wisdom and virtues of the Tathagata, but they fail to realize them due to their delusions and attachments.

Every mountain, river, and earth, every blade of grass and every tree, is a manifestation of the Dharma body. If one can understand this, one can naturally live in harmony with all things.

As the saying goes: Heaven and earth were born together with me, and all things are one with me.

Those sealed evil spirits and monsters were ultimately formed from the Qi of Heaven and Earth, only they had gone astray. The sages did not intend to destroy them, but rather to seal them away so that they could return to the cycle of Heaven and Earth.

Therefore, these sealed places are actually balance points carefully chosen by the sages, so that these evil spirits will not cause harm to the world, but their energy will nourish the earth's veins and maintain the operation of the dragon veins.

Just like Li Bing and his son's approach to water management, they did not simply block the waterways, but instead dredged the riverbeds and built low weirs, which not only controlled the floods but also allowed the water to benefit all things.

While suppressing the evil dragon, it also used the essence of the water to nourish the land of Shu, which is why it has the reputation of being the land of abundance.

Its inherent purity pervades the entire Dharma realm, responding to the minds of sentient beings and according to their capacity for understanding.

From a Buddhist perspective, there is no absolute good or evil in this world; everything manifests according to conditions. Those suppressed spirits, if they can resolve their malevolent energy, may very well become benevolent guardian deities.

Surprisingly, Buddhism and Taoism share some similar views.

All of this is for the sake of making the land of China more beautiful. The reason why the sages were sages is not only because of their cultivation, but also because their thoughts reached a certain height.

He has a thorough understanding of the "Tao" and practices it thoroughly.

Han Yun is now also on the path of righteousness.

Whether it's Mianshan Mountain, Lishan Mountain, or the landforms that integrate the Loess Plateau, it seems as if it were preordained that Han Yun, like the sages of the past, would perform meritorious deeds.

All of this actually comes from my heart.

Thinking of this, Han Yun couldn't help but chuckle to himself.

Han Yun is actually a very lazy person. Whether in his past life or this life, he is the kind of person who only cares about himself and not his family.

They are both afraid of trouble and somewhat indifferent to everything around them.

This actually stems from my experience of being an orphan in my previous life.

Being poor cares themselves, being wealthy cares the world.

Han Yun didn't consider himself to have the magnanimity to benefit all under heaven, so in the beginning, the path he sought was very small, or even selfish, solely for his own transcendence and immortality. But after his cultivation reached a certain level, seeing those unreasonable things, Han Yun always felt the urge to do something, to change things within his power, and to guide them in a positive direction.

It may seem contradictory, but it is actually a change in mindset.

Of course, there were many twists and turns along the way, such as the confusion during the Ming Dynasty, the subsequent enlightenment, the ignition of the Samadhi fire, and the cultivation of both mind and self.

In the pursuit of truth, one must always strive to have a clear conscience.

Gradually, we drift further and further apart on a certain path, perhaps still retaining some of its former appearance, but in reality, it has changed a lot.

This change might be called "growth".

In fact, each of us has a "little self" inside us. This "little self" always hopes and yearns for a different version of itself, but this "little self" can never become that version.

In reality, I'm always pretty unlucky.

Han Yun was fortunate to have this opportunity to turn his dream into reality. Once he truly mastered the power, why couldn't the world develop as he expected?
Therefore, Han Yun's personal weight in relation to heaven and earth began to increase, and his every move could change the course of many people's lives, becoming a "variable" in the world!
Without Han Yun, these seals might not have erupted for several years, or even more than a decade. At that time, China might have had the ability to deal with them, or it might not.

However, because of Han Yun, this discovery was brought forward, so naturally, he, as a variable, also needs to find a way to solve these problems.

Although this is not Han Yun's responsibility, now that things have come to this point, it would be too much for Han Yun to just give up.
Or you could say that Han Yun is gradually becoming the "protagonist" of this world!
After I arrived, the world changed because of me!

This is the true meaning of Han Yun's existence in this world.

Dujiangyan, Fulong Temple.

The night was as dark as ink, and the Minjiang River roared.

This ancient temple sits atop a mound, overlooking a thousand-year-old water conservancy project. The incense inside has long since died out, and only the river breeze blows through, bringing a chill.

The old Taoist priest guarding the temple carried a dim lantern and slowly patrolled the bluestone steps.

He had guarded the Fulong Temple for sixty years and had never seen such a scene before. The Dragon-Locking Well inside the temple was constantly seeping out pitch-black mist, and the iron lock at the wellhead was moving automatically without wind, making a teeth-grinding "creaking" sound.

"Is this beast up to its old age again?" the old Taoist muttered to himself, the lantern in his hand trembling slightly.

Suddenly, a deep dragon's roar came from the well, causing the entire Lidui to shake slightly.

The old Taoist priest's expression changed drastically. He hurriedly took out a yellowed talisman from his pocket. The talisman was decorated with a vermilion edict, passed down by his patriarch, specifically for suppressing the evil dragon in the well.

He muttered incantations and slapped the talisman towards the well opening.

However, before the talisman could even touch the edge of the well, it was blasted away by a stream of black water vapor and spontaneously combusted into ashes in mid-air!

"not good!"

The old Taoist priest staggered backward, only to see black mist churning at the well's mouth, coalescing into a ferocious dragon head phantom with its scarlet eyes fixed on him.

"Two thousand years... Damn Li Bing, and Li Erlang, you can't hold me back!" The hoarse, deep voice seemed to come from the depths of hell, carrying resentment accumulated over a thousand years.

The old Taoist priest turned pale, bit his fingertip, and used his blood to form a spell in mid-air. A red light talisman appeared, attempting to suppress the dragon shadow.

But the dragon shadow simply opened its mouth and inhaled, devouring the crimson light completely. The black energy intensified, almost breaking through the seal at the well's mouth.

"Grandmaster... Your disciple is incompetent..." The old Taoist closed his eyes in despair, his body engulfed in blood flames, preparing to sacrifice himself to strengthen the seal.

Just when things were at their most critical, a clear voice came from the night sky.

"Certainly."

Follow your words.

The surging black mist suddenly solidified, and even the ferocious dragon head phantom froze in mid-air, its scarlet eyes revealing a look of surprise and uncertainty for the first time.

The old Taoist priest looked up in astonishment and saw, under the moonlight, a tall and slender figure standing on the eaves of the temple, his robes fluttering, as if an immortal had descended to earth.

The person who came was naturally Han Yun.

He received an urgent message from Zhang Zhiwei, saying that the seal on Dujiangyan was showing the most intense abnormalities, so he rushed over immediately.

Han Yun's gaze swept over the Locked Dragon Well, his brows furrowing slightly: "The resentment has accumulated to this point; it seems the people of Takamagahara have indeed tampered with this place."

He pointed his fingers like a sword and pointed in mid-air.

There was no dazzling light at the fingertips, but the earth's energy in the entire Li Dui where Fulong Temple was located was instantly activated, and countless imperceptible golden talismans emerged from the void.

It was the Earth God Incantation, one of the eight great Taoist incantations. The talismans intertwined into a large net, forcibly pressing the dissipating black mist back into the well.

"Roar--!"

An angry roar of defiance came from the well, and the entire Lidui shook again, causing the Minjiang River to surge.

"Stubborn."

Han Yun snorted coldly, his figure gracefully landing at the well's edge. He didn't even glance at the struggling dragon shadow, but simply placed his palm lightly on the stone rim of the well.

Centered on the Dragon-Locking Well, one after another, more complex and profound golden talismans appeared out of thin air, spreading downwards along the well wall like living things. Wherever they passed, the restless black energy melted away like ice and snow, and was completely purified and soothed.

The roar of the evil dragon in the well gradually turned into a terrified wail.

More and more golden runes appeared, eventually weaving together at the bottom of the well into an incredibly complex and massive array, firmly locking the evil dragon within its core.

The tremors subsided, the black mist dissipated, and even the waves of the Minjiang River gradually returned to calm.

"It's been suppressed for now," Han Yun said softly, "but this seal won't last long."

The old Taoist priest then came to his senses and hurriedly bowed, saying, "Thank you for your help. I am Sun Fujia, the twenty-seventh generation well keeper of Fulong Temple. May I ask your honorable name?"

"Han Yun".

After pondering for a moment, Old Master Sun suddenly widened his eyes: "You, you are that Little Ancestor Han Yun?"

Han Yun nodded slightly, his gaze still fixed on the Locked Dragon Well: "Master Sun, have the strange movements in this well become more frequent lately?"

"Exactly!"

Sun Fujia quickly replied, "Since three years ago, the strange occurrences in the well have increased from once a year to once a month, and recently they have been happening almost every night."

"This old Taoist's cultivation is shallow, and I can only barely maintain it. If it weren't for your passing by tonight, young ancestor, this beast would probably have broken through the seal..."
