Chapter 150 The Thoughts of the Three Forces

The Central Province of the Demon Clan, inside the Demon Heart Palace.

Agares walked steadily through the dark corridor and went straight to the Demon King's bedroom.

He respectfully presented the demon's crown, which gleamed with a scarlet light, with both hands:
"Big brother, I'm back. This is the Crown of the Seventh Demon God."

Feng Xiu leaned back on the magnificent throne, reached out and took the blood-red crown, her fingertips gently caressing its surface:

"Has Moonbeam uncovered any intelligence?"

“Ahui has been in seclusion for the past three years,” Agares shook his head slightly, “and knows nothing about Austin Griffin hiding in the Holy City.”

He paused briefly, "As for the hidden secrets of humanity, he is not in a position to access such secrets at his current level. Perhaps he will be able to find out some information after he is promoted to a titled Demon Hunter team."

Feng Xiu tapped her long, slender fingers lightly twice on the armrest of the throne, and nodded slightly.

"Thank you for your hard work. Go back and rest now. Report back if there's any new information."

"Yes."

Agares respectfully responded and rose to leave the hall.

Feng Xiu sat quietly on the throne, her slender fingers gently supporting her chin, her dark golden eyes reflecting her thoughts.

About half an hour later, the heavy palace doors were silently pushed open.

A member of the Black Dragon Guard knelt on one knee and presented encrypted intelligence with both hands.

With a flick of her finger, Feng Xiu unleashed a torrent of black demonic energy that instantly devoured the letter she had just read.

"What my second brother said is true," a deep voice echoed in the hall. "Yuehui truly knew nothing about it."

He suddenly chuckled softly, tapping his fingertips lightly on the armrest of the throne: "You're capable of such cruelty towards your own son, Second Brother, you've certainly impressed me."

His smile deepened. "However, this will only solidify Moonbeam's position within the human camp."

His dark gold eyes narrowed slightly, and a dangerous plan gradually took shape: "It's time to make the other two titled Demon Hunter groups disappear completely."

The Fall of the Demon God and the Nine Heavens of Arrogance—these two titled Demon Hunter teams, which might have caused some trouble in the past, are now no longer a threat to him.

With complete control over millions of spiritual energy and possessing two super artifacts, he regarded ninth-tier experts as mere ants who put on a show.

"Should I," he murmured to himself, "go see my dear grandson?"

……

The moon demon Agares returned to his study in the palace, the silver moonlight shining through the window onto his outstretched palm.

This hand, so perfect it was almost illusory, had recently dealt a heavy blow to Moonlight.

"Ahui, I hope you understand what I mean," he murmured to himself.

That palm strike dispelled the human race's doubts about Yuehui's increasingly similar appearance and temperament to their own, and also made Yuehui understand that there could be no hesitation or weakness when inheriting the position of Moon Demon God in the future.

Thinking of this, Agares' lips curled into a bitter smile.

This is the survival rule of the demon race—cruel and direct!
Even though he always resisted this identity deep down.

A gentle knock on the door interrupted his thoughts.

"Who?" he asked, composed himself.

"It's me," came the princess's gentle voice from outside the door.

When the door opened, Yueye's mother was standing in the moonlight, holding a food box: "I heard you were back, so I prepared some tea and snacks."

Agares's stern face softened as he took the food box and put his arm around the princess's waist.

She whispered, "It's so good to have you."

……

Inside the Knights' Temple, the light from the crystal chandelier illuminated the faces of the two Temple Masters.

"Is Yuehui still not awake?" Long Tianyin frowned, his fingers tapping unconsciously on the armrest.

Yang Haohan shook his head: "The injuries were too severe, and he was just one step away from death. It was only thanks to Lu Xi's use of the lost life magic, sharing his life force with Yuehui, that his life was saved."

“It’s been three days already,” Long Tianyin sighed as he stood up and walked to the window. “If something were to go wrong, the loss to the alliance would be immeasurable.” Yang Haohan pondered for a moment: “However, Agares’s intervention has dispelled some of my doubts.”

"Oh?" Long Tianyin turned around. "What concerns?"

"Didn't you notice? Yuehui's appearance and temperament are too similar to those of the Moon Demon Clan," Yang Haohan said in a low voice.

Long Tianyin was clearly taken aback: "Isn't he someone that Li Zhengzhi from the Magic Temple raised single-handedly?"

“That being said,” Yang Haohan stroked his chin, “his origins remain a mystery. Li Zhengzhi said he rescued him from an attacked caravan, claiming to be a descendant of a noble family from Jialing Pass. But that entire family was murdered before Yuehui could even claim kinship.”

“But Moonbeam’s blood is bright red,” Long Tianyin retorted. “The demons can’t fake that, can they? Besides, he’s now Saint Moon’s grandson-in-law. If he were truly related to the demons, given the Saint family’s heritage, how could they have allowed him to live until now?”

Upon hearing this, Yang Haohan smiled with relief: "That's true, it seems I was overthinking it."

……

In the healing room of the Knight's Temple, sunlight filtered through the gauze curtains, casting dappled shadows on the floor.

"Uh"

With a painful groan, Moonlight slowly opened her heavy eyelids.

The unfamiliar dome came into view, leaving him momentarily disoriented.

His memory was still stuck in front of Yulong Pass—his father's unexpected palm strike sent him flying.

(Why?)

He stared blankly at the intricate patterns on the ceiling, a dull ache shooting through his chest.

What he found most unbearable was not the physical pain, but his father's near-fatal sneak attack.

(Feeling wronged. Dispelling concerns)

Agares' last words suddenly echoed in my ears.

Moonlight's purplish-gold eyes widened slightly, and a flash of inspiration appeared.

(Could it be to dispel any suspicion the Temple Alliance might have about my identity?)

This thought made his tense body relax slightly.

Enduring the stinging pain, he propped himself up and looked down to see his chest wrapped in snow-white bandages, with a faint herbal fragrance seeping from under the gauze.

"Boom!"

A loud bang came from the doorway.

Yuehui turned her head and saw Cai'er standing blankly in front of the door, the wooden basin in her hand falling to the ground, the water splashing onto her skirt, but she was completely unaware.

"Moonlight, you're awake?"

Cai'er's voice trembled as she rushed to the bedside.

She carefully supported Yuehui's shoulders, her fingertips slightly cool.

"How are you feeling?" she asked anxiously, her eyes already red-rimmed.

Moonlight forced a smile: "It's nothing."

Cai'er suddenly hugged him tightly and buried her face in the crook of his neck.

Yuehui could feel her tears soaking her collar.

"You scared me to death," her voice muffled. "Why did he do that to you?"

Moonlight gently stroked her back and whispered in her ear, "There's a reason. I'll tell you in detail when we get back."

Cai'er nodded gently on his shoulder, her hair brushing against his cheek.

Suddenly, a head poked out from outside the door and glanced into the ward.

"The commander is awake!"
