Chapter 242 Colossal Demon
Chapter 242 Colossal Demon (4K)
The demons also possess flying units.
Passenger plane demon, tanker demon, helicopter demon, propeller plane demon
Not only that, the airport demon also makes an appearance.
It is an integrated complex consisting of a terminal building, runway, ground transportation buildings and a series of work buildings, covering an area of tens of square kilometers!
The flying vehicle demons usually attach themselves to the airport demons.
Looking around, the airport demon resembled a living, breathing steel hell. This colossal creature moved in a breathtaking manner.
The main terminal building complex forms its head, with thousands of broken or completed glass curtain walls slowly crawling like scales. In the gaping maw of the check-in hall, the security conveyor belt transforms into a tongue full of steel teeth, engulfing the building debris along the way into its internal furnace-like digestive system.
The originally straight flight runway complex formed its spine, constantly contracting and expanding as it moved. The dozens of hangars in the cargo area pulsated rhythmically like alveoli, and each contraction would spew out black smoke mixed with aviation fuel from the exhaust vents.
What's most chilling is its mode of movement; its body, spanning tens of square kilometers, doesn't move as a whole, but rather flows in localized sections like an amoeba.
A runway area suddenly bulges up to form a propulsion foot, the terminal complex tilts forward like liquid metal, and the ground transportation network acts like a tendon, pulling the various modules together in coordinated operation.
Wherever the airport demon passed, city ruins crumbled like fragile building blocks, and architectural debris was picked up by tentacles transformed from boarding bridges and thrown into the shredder that had mutated into a cargo tarmac.
This demon, transformed from human transportation architecture, reshapes the city's topography with every step it takes.
"My God," a crew member murmured in disbelief. "Leader, should we use electromagnetic railgun to destroy it?"
After a moment's thought, Li Ye rejected the proposal.
Given the size of the Airport Demon, only a Black Rain bomber squadron can be deployed.
The number of Black Rain bombers has now been expanded to four.
Although the enemy has air forces, Tomorrow Alliance does not face much air combat pressure.
The Shadow Falcon fighter jet was of excellent performance and shot down a large number of flying demon vehicles in no time.
Upon receiving the order, the bomber group immediately formed a formation above the clouds.
Considering that the airport demons' attack methods could threaten the bombers, the pilots immediately decided to drop bombs at high altitude.
As the bomb bay opened, rows of bombs rained down on the airport demon.
A barrage of high-explosive bombs hurtled towards the airport demon like meteorites. The terminal building, which had mutated into a head, was hit first, and the shockwave from the explosion completely destroyed and tore it apart.
The giant metal tongue formed by the security conveyor belt was blown apart, and burning aviation fuel gushed out from the ruptured pipes, creating a sea of fire on the concrete ground.
The second wave of incendiary bombs followed closely behind, raining down like a storm. The napalm bombs exploded on the ridge formed by the runway complex, the viscous incendiary agent adhering to the metal surfaces and burning wildly, turning the steel bars red-hot and twisted.
The arrival of the third wave of cluster bombs brought a devastating frenzy, with hundreds and thousands of submunitions raining down on the entire tarmac area like a shower of petals. Each submunition exploded into a deadly shrapnel storm upon contact, tearing apart the mutated tentacles of the boarding bridge and the steel fangs of the aircraft stands. Countless craters were blasted into the runway surface, exposing the convulsing hydraulic pipes beneath, the high-pressure fluid instantly transforming into fiery serpents upon encountering the flames of the incendiary bombs.
The final, fatal blow came from a bunker buster.
They pierced through the airport demon's body with lightning speed, detonating inside. The massive shockwave caused its body, spanning tens of kilometers in radius, to undulate like ocean waves.
The airport's monstrous, demonic architectural giant feet crumbled amidst violent tremors, its steel skeleton twisted and collapsed in the intense heat, and the runway complex convulsed like a dying serpent.
This imposing architectural demon let out its final lament under the devastating blow before collapsing with a crash.
"We took it down!"
The people in the cabin immediately erupted in cheers.
Li Ye nodded slightly.
The destructive power of a bomber formation is unparalleled; even a building demon of this scale would be overwhelmed.
At this moment, the Black Hawk helicopters gathered multiple building demons into one area, where the Peacemaker carried out a round of artillery fire.
The Iron Whale, on the other hand, targeted those vehicle demons, using the Titan's Grip device to attach to them, and then scrapped and returned them to the field.
Not only that, it sometimes targets smaller building demons and smashes or cuts them to pieces.
The Starship moved through the city with impunity, firing at breakneck speed. Wherever it went, demons were wiped out.
Upon seeing this scene, Li Ye couldn't help but recall the time he spent fighting in the wasteland aboard the Tomorrow, and suddenly felt a little envious.
As Veronica said, the demons come in all sorts of strange forms.
Smaller ones include the oven demon, the phone booth demon, the fork demon, and the clothing store demon.
The bigger ones are the gas station demon, the parking lot demon, and the power plant demon.
One of the building demons caught everyone's attention.
That was a zoo demon.
It was a terrifying living creature, a mixture of flesh, steel, and twisted life. Its main body was the entire zoo, with the zoo gate serving as its mouth. The cast-iron railings of the gate had been transformed into a gigantic maw with interlocking fangs, and the ticket booth had become a sticky, gill-like organ, constantly exhaling a foul stench mixed with animal feces and rotting flesh.
Each vertebra of the zoo's demon is compressed from the remains of different animal enclosures; the glass dome of the reptile tube becomes the joints of the cervical vertebrae, and the steel fence of the predator enclosure forms a twisted and intertwined group of ribs.
Its limbs are made up of the park's transportation facilities. The sightseeing train tracks are taut under muscle contraction, the roller coaster's spiral steel frame structure forms the hydraulic pivot of the knee joint, and its feet are giant webbed claws transformed from bumper cars.
The sensory system is a blasphemous combination of architecture and biological organs. The aerial bicycle cabins that originally surrounded the park have all mutated into compound eyes, the sound wave receivers of the broadcast tower and bat tube have merged into radar ears, and the streetlights in the park have twisted and gathered together to form countless compound eyes.
Its size is similar to that of the Airport Demon, both being tens of square kilometers in size.
Moreover, the zoo demon also carries various "passengers".
A massive, ferocious tiger demon.
A dolphin demon capable of manipulating water currents.
Incredibly agile, hordes of gorilla demons.
A gigantic elephant demon.
The eagle demon with extremely fast flight speed.
Amidst the roars of the zoo demons, the animal demons sprang into action, advancing towards the forces of the Tomorrow Alliance.
Li Ye gently shook his head.
Eye-opener.
This was truly an eye-opening experience.
He finally understood why the monsters chose to preserve this super monster civilization; it truly had extraordinary potential.
If it were me, I would definitely choose to keep it too.
After expressing his feelings, he picked up the walkie-talkie and ordered the Black Rain bomber group to begin their bombing run.
To his even greater surprise, problems also arose in the waters near the peninsula.
A giant cruise ship demon has appeared in the sea, and mechanical squids are currently battling it.
Li Ye intended to send in a flying force as reinforcements, but the mechanical squid performed exceptionally well and easily defeated it.
The battle ended a few hours later.
The Tomorrow Alliance successfully captured the city ruins.
As usual, Li Ye sent people to collect the demons' loot and had the War Council tally the casualties.
Coins, iron ore, timber, cloth, coal, and various finished products
The spoils quickly piled up into a small mountain in front of Li Ye.
What Li Ye was most concerned about was the dropped blueprints.
After some selection, a number of design blueprints were laid out before him: a Tier 3 main battle tank, a Tier 3 assault rifle, and a Tier 3 stun gun.
The first two items, Tomorrow, are already available; the design blueprints can be sold to generate revenue.
Li Ye initially thought that the Level 3 stun gun was a weapon used by law enforcement personnel for bomb disposal.
But after taking a closer look at the side effects, he couldn't help but gasp.
With an 80% increase in electric shock intensity and a 40% increase in coverage, ordinary residents simply cannot withstand this power!
"Let's equip them with special forces," he thought to himself.
The stun gun has the appearance of a portable pistol and requires 35 units of level 3 iron ore and 10 units of level 3 thunder ore to craft.
The Tomorrow Alliance then began metal recovery work in the city ruins. The deployed marines and mechanical squids were not recovered but continued to stand guard outside.
Under Li Ye's instructions, the reconnaissance aircraft set off again to survey the terrain of the peninsula and plan a route for the Tomorrow Alliance.
While we're at it, let's also scout out if there are any large, threatening demons.
Upon learning the results brought back by the reconnaissance planes, Li Ye immediately felt a headache coming on.
There is absolutely no road connecting the peninsula to the mainland.
Its center is blocked by a continuous mountain range.
If Tomorrow Alliance wants to go inland, they either need to undergo a collective climbing modification or revert to waterborne mode and search for other areas to land along the sea route.
Li Ye felt that the first method would not work, as Tomorrow was already a level 3 mobile city, too large to climb.
To his surprise, a convoy of survivors from the peninsula region actually contacted him.
The survivor convoy was marked with the Titan Throne emblem, and the convoy leader was a thin man in his thirties named Carson.
Li Ye carefully examined Carson's convoy; all the vehicles were base vehicles, and all were standard Tier 3 configurations.
"With the size of your caravan, you should be able to hunt demons in the peninsula region, right?" he asked.
“Of course,” Carson replied.
With the caravan's capabilities, hunting one or two demons is naturally no problem. If they're lucky enough to stumble upon a mine, forest, or mineral vein, they can even make a small fortune.
As for the towns and cities in the peninsula region, there are too many demons there, making them impossible to attack.
“Not only that, we are also responsible for observing the ecology of the demons in the peninsula region,” Carson added. “This is a requirement of the Titan Throne, and we need to compile a report according to its specifications and submit it.”
"So, have you made any discoveries in the peninsula area?" Zhou Xing asked.
Carson narrowed his eyes slightly upon hearing this.
“Of course there is.” He said slowly, his tone becoming extremely serious. “It is a tremendous discovery.”
Li Ye and the others exchanged glances, their expressions gradually becoming serious.
"Please explain in detail," Li Ye said solemnly.
Upon hearing this, Carson's face showed a mixture of emotions, and he even felt extremely troubled.
The more they saw him like this, the more uneasy they felt.
What exactly did the team leader discover that made him so worried?
Under their watchful eyes, Carson slowly pointed into the distance.
“Look over there.”
Looking around, everyone realized that he was pointing to the continuous mountain range that stretched across the peninsula.
The interlacing peaks and overlapping ridges resemble a raging storm frozen on the earth.
One mountain ridge after another winds and twists like the back of a giant dragon, disappearing into the misty sky.
However, I wasn't in the mood to appreciate the scenery after leaving the wilderness.
The mountains blocked the Tomorrow Alliance's route to penetrate deep into the interior of Guixu Continent.
Following Carson's line of thought, the group began to speculate.
"Mr. Carson, are there many terrifying demons in the mountains?" Zhou Xing asked curiously.
"For example, the Giant Mountain Demon?" Fang Yong guessed.
Carson gently shook his head.
"This mountain range itself is a demon!"
Upon hearing this, Li Ye looked towards the distant mountains, a look of astonishment appearing in his eyes.
This mountain range stretches across the entire peninsula, acting as a natural barrier that divides the land into two parts.
It is hundreds of kilometers long. If the entire mountain range were demons, its size would be terrifying!
Moreover, hundreds of kilometers is only its length; if calculated by area, the figure would be double.
It's worth noting that the Airport Demon and Zoo Demon that the Tomorrow Alliance just wiped out were only a few dozen square kilometers in size.
"How is this possible?" Yang Zheng murmured.
Carson sighed softly.
"It's true."
He told Li Ye and the others that when they first arrived in the peninsula district, they also thought that the demons in the city's building type were the largest in size.
One evening, the convoy found a secluded spot and prepared to camp and rest.
The entire mountain range suddenly moved.
At first, it was just a slight buzzing, like a low groan coming from the depths of the earth. Then, the entire mountain range, stretching for hundreds of kilometers, began to undulate.
The jagged rock peaks rubbed against each other, producing a teeth-grinding grinding sound.
The mountain demon has awakened.
As it slowly stretched out its body, dozens of mountain peaks began to move and recombine, some rising to form new joints, others collapsing to become claws. The entire landscape was twisting and deforming, like a crumpled sheepskin map.
Carson and his companions were stunned when they saw this.
It took them a long time to come to their senses.
“Although its movements were clumsy and slow, I still recognized it as a demon!” Carson exclaimed excitedly.
After he finished speaking, he looked at Li Ye and the others.
"Given its size and scale, this mountain demon must be a wild boss from the demon civilization!"
Li Ye nodded slowly.
He had the same guess in his mind.
He simply wouldn't believe that the Mountain Demon was merely an elite or elite captain-level being.
I don't know if this is good or bad for the Alliance of Tomorrow. They encountered a level 3 world boss as soon as they arrived in the new continent.
