Mobile City Farming Guide
Chapter 1 Mobile Cities in the Wasteland
Chapter 1 Mobile Cities in the Wasteland
Early in the morning, a storm raged.
On the vast, desolate plain, a colossal creature, as large as a small mountain, slowly moves through the rain.
Upon closer inspection, it was clearly a town with a steampunk style.
Beneath the town are rows of tires and giant tracks, as well as a series of equipment such as robotic arms, cranes, watchtowers, artillery, heavy machine guns, and searchlights.
Buildings, water towers, warehouses, small processing plants, fields... the town's structure is clearly layered from top to bottom and arranged neatly.
At this moment, Li Ye, atop the watchtower, clutched the newly compiled supply list tightly, his face grave.
This is his first week since he traveled through time.
This is a wasteland world.
Hordes of zombies, mechanical life forms, mutated creatures, monster civilizations... this world is far more dangerous than imagined.
Survivors cling to the magical "Mobile Cities," gathering resources, recruiting talent, and hunting other "Mobile Cities" to gradually strengthen and build their own cities to survive.
This mobile city, named "Mole," is a third-rate Level 1 mobile city.
On his very first day after arriving in the world, Li Ye unfortunately became a slave on the Mole.
Working day and night, living in appalling conditions, receiving meager rations and fresh water each day, and being frequently beaten by the lord and his trusted henchmen...
Li Ye silently endured all of this. He remained outwardly calm, but secretly began his own plan.
They recruited other slaves, prepared weapons, secretly turned disgraced lords' confidants against their cause, and devised a plan of rebellion...
Just last night, Li Ye led his men in a planned uprising.
After a night of bloody battle, Li Ye successfully captured the Mole at the cost of more than half of his own casualties, and completely wiped out the original lord and his henchmen.
He was subsequently elected by the people to become the new lord of this mobile city. With the idea of starting afresh, Li Ye renamed the mobile city Tomorrow.
[Two standard cannons, six standard shells]
[4 standard heavy machine guns, over 200 rounds of standard machine gun ammunition]
[6 pistols, over 40 rounds of regular ammunition, 25 regular knives, 2 level 1 weapons, 87 crystal coins]
[35 units of iron ore, 23 units of wood, 115 units of fresh water, 15 units of gunpowder]
[125 steamed buns, 68 potatoes, 3 canned meats, half a bag of flour]
[Mobile City Energy Remaining: 15%]
Looking at the rows of numbers on the supply list in his hand, Li Ye sighed softly.
The original lord had no concept of resource management and was extravagant in his daily life, so this was all that was left when he took over.
Resource scarcity! This is a very real problem that Li Ye is facing right now.
He is desperately short of everything, whether it's food and fresh water for survival, raw materials like iron ore and oil needed for the Tomorrow's production upgrades, or bullets and shells for the mobile city's defense!
What's more troublesome is that after a round of power reshuffling, the Tomorrow has no professional personnel such as mechanics, gunners, lookouts, or combat captains, and is currently only able to barely maintain daily operations.
Thinking of this, Li Ye couldn't help but sigh with melancholy.
"It's so difficult."
He put away the list and slowly walked up the gangway toward the bridge.
Inside the driver's cab, a thin seventeen-year-old boy was flipping through a thick driver's manual with one hand while nervously operating the controls at the dashboard with the other.
Upon seeing Li Ye approaching, a look of joy appeared on his face.
"You've arrived, Brother Li."
Li Ye nodded.
The boy's name was Tang Fang. He was originally a slave like Li Ye. He was weak and sickly, but very clever. After taking control of the Tomorrow, Li Ye decided to give it a try and appointed Tang Fang as the helmsman.
To his surprise, Tang Fang managed to learn the operating procedures in less than two hours and successfully started the Tomorrow.
This boy is far more talented than he imagined; he might truly become an outstanding helmsman.
Just then, a dark-skinned middle-aged man strode in.
"Ah Li, all the bodies have been disposed of, and all the supplies have been sorted out."
As he spoke, he seemed to remember something and added something.
"We also dealt with that lord's confidant who was turned against us, as you suggested."
Li Ye stared at the screen without turning his head, his expression unchanged.
"Ah."
The middle-aged man, named Lao Zhou, was the first person Li Ye met when he first arrived in the world, and also the first slave to join his rebellion plan. Now he serves as Li Ye's deputy.
After a brief exchange, the three of them looked at the brightly lit words "15% energy remaining" on the control panel screen.
The Tomorrow has very little energy left. Even operating in the most energy-efficient mode, it still consumes 2% of its energy daily.
In other words, if no energy supply can be found, Tomorrow will be completely shut down in a week.
Stopping in this monster-infested wasteland is a very dangerous thing.
Li Ye was the first to come to his senses and gently patted the shoulders of the two people beside him.
"Don't worry, everything will be alright. Let's decide where to go first..."
Just then, a prompt suddenly appeared in front of him.
The intelligence system has been activated.
[1. Tonight, due to the overwhelming defenses of the monsters at the Gross Mine, the attack on the Level 1 mobile city "Azure" has completely failed. The Azure suffered severe damage in multiple locations, including its water towers; its lord is critically wounded and unconscious; and more than half of its crew has been killed or wounded. (Intelligence Value: Ordinary)]
[2. In fifteen minutes, a level 1 iron ore vein will spawn 20 kilometers to the southeast. The vein is of medium size. (Intelligence Value: Excellent)]
3. On the edge of the Rotten Lands, a convoy is trapped by a horde of zombies. (Intelligence Value: Rare)
[4. Three days later, the world boss "Lava Spider Queen" (Boss Level: 1) will descend upon Firefeather Forest. (Information Value: Excellent)]
[5. Refreshing... (Intelligence Value: Epic)]
"Intelligence system?"
After a brief moment of euphoria, Li Ye quickly regained his composure and immediately began to carefully read the intelligence before him.
The first piece of intelligence is...
He had never heard of Gross Mine or Azure, but he figured the former must be a resource-rich site, and Azure was launching the attack to obtain its resources.
In the wild, it is common for battles to break out over resource points.
The second piece of information excited him.
In just fifteen minutes, a level 1 iron ore vein will spawn twenty kilometers to the southeast, and it's even of medium size. A medium-sized iron ore vein can produce approximately 500 units of level 1 iron ore. Iron ore is a basic resource needed for upgrading production in mobile cities, and it's practically hard currency in the wasteland.
In the wild, countless people would fight tooth and nail for such a mineral vein, but now I have the opportunity to mine it easily.
The third piece of information is quite interesting.
On the edge of the rotten land, a convoy is trapped by a horde of zombies.
"Is this a convoy of survivors, or..." Li Ye couldn't help but wonder. "It's a convoy sent out by some force in the wasteland to search for supplies."
After all, the situation in the wasteland is complex, with various forces intertwined.
Suppressing his doubts, Li Ye continued to review the intelligence.
The value of the fourth piece of intelligence is on an even higher level.
Three days later, the Lava Spider Queen will descend upon Firefeather Forest.
The Lava Spider Queen is a level 1 field boss. Defeating it will not only drop a large amount of resources, but may even drop its unique weapons and items.
More importantly, it will always drop a level 2 item.
The area where Li Ye is currently located is called the "Wilderness Zone". It is a level 1 zone, and the resources produced are generally level 1. The chance of producing level 2 items is extremely low, and it can even be said to be extremely rare.
Wild bosses are among the strongest monsters in the wasteland; their combat power and defense are ridiculously high, and they even possess powerful special skills.
Generally speaking, a level 1 world boss is roughly equivalent to a fully equipped level 1 mobile city in terms of combat power. However, in reality, the latter's win rate is often less than 30%.
This time, Li Ye could only sigh in vain.
His Tomorrow is currently understaffed, lacking lookouts, combat captains, and mechanics, and has no strength whatsoever to kill this wild boss.
"Even so, I can still sell this intelligence and exchange it for some resources or something," he thought to himself.
The fifth piece of intelligence is still being updated. Looking at the "epic level" marked in the intelligence column, Li Ye's breathing became hot.
The information at the "Excellent" level is already quite remarkable, but what would the "Epic" level information contain?
He couldn't help but feel a surge of anticipation.
Following Li Ye's directions, Tang Fang, half-believing and half-doubting, turned around and headed southeast.
After a while, a medium-sized iron ore vein came into view.
Tang Fang and Lao Zhou instantly became excited, while Li Ye nodded to himself.
“Gather everyone here immediately, we’ll start mining now,” he said.
The Tomorrow currently has a total of 13 people. Li Ye left Tang Fang to remain in the cockpit and selected a sharp-eyed companion to temporarily serve as a lookout, responsible for keeping watch from the watchtower. He then led the rest of the crew toward the iron ore vein.
Surprisingly, the iron ore vein had a rather game-like appearance; it was shaped like a small mountain, and its surface was covered with clusters of ores of various sizes.
On the way, Li Ye glanced thoughtfully at the pickaxe in his hand.
Item Name: Pickaxe
Item Level: 1
[Additional effect: Mining efficiency increased by 10%]
[Crafting Requirements: 3 units of iron ore (Level 1)]
After the apocalypse, many supernatural changes occurred in the world.
The most significant change is the emergence of "rankings".
Even the lowest level 1 item is much more powerful than ordinary items.
Furthermore, even the monsters in the wasteland have developed levels. Ordinary weapons are no longer effective against level 1 monsters. To effectively kill level 1 monsters, you need to equip level 1 weapons.
Items are divided into levels 1-7, and the function of an item will be improved with each level increase.
Mobile cities are also categorized into levels 1-7.
A Level 1 mobile city can accommodate 500-1000 people and is referred to as a "town-level" city.
Tier 2 mobile cities can accommodate 5000 to 1 people and are known as "fortress-level".
Level 3 mobile cities can accommodate 5 to 10 people and are known as "island-level".
Level 4 mobile cities can accommodate 20 to 50 people and are referred to as "city-level".
Level 5 mobile cities can accommodate 100 million to 500 million people and are known as "kingdom-level".
A Level 6 mobile city can accommodate 1000 to 2000 million people and is known as a "mobile continental-level" city.
A Level 7 mobile city can accommodate 5000 million to 1 million people and is referred to as "civilization level".
After working for several hours, Li Ye and his team finally finished mining the iron ore vein.
Putting away his pickaxe, Li Ye wiped the sweat from his forehead with satisfaction.
This time he mined a total of 514 units of level 1 iron ore, which is equivalent to the harvest of a mobile city in a week.
At the same time, he sighed inwardly.
Currently, the Tomorrow is severely understaffed. To mine a single vein, the entire crew has to be mobilized, and even I, as the lord, have to personally take charge.
The shortage of manpower has led to excessively long mining times, which has greatly increased the chances of encountering monster attacks.
After finishing his shift, Li Ye returned to the cockpit and looked down at the third piece of information in the system panel, lost in thought.
Should we save this convoy or not?
Since this intelligence is classified as "rare," it is undoubtedly very valuable.
Perhaps this convoy is loaded with supplies, or perhaps there are skilled mechanics or similar personnel on board.
Li Ye was somewhat tempted, but the thought of the zombie horde quickly calmed him down.
Zombies.
The most common level 1 monster in the wasteland.
They often appear in the form of hordes of corpses, leaving no trace of life in their wake.
Even the lowest-level level 1 zombie horde is quite difficult to deal with.
"If only I had a level 1 cannon or a level 1 heavy machine gun," Li Ye sighed.
The heavy machine guns and artillery on the Tomorrow were only of ordinary level and could not effectively kill the zombie horde. A slight mishap could even lead to the ship capsizing.
After much deliberation, Li Ye finally made a decision.
"Tang Fang, change course, we're heading towards the Rotten Land."
