Chapter 261 Large-Scale Migration

The next day, Fuying woke up to a cacophony of noise.

"Mother, you're awake?" Tuanzi, who had been keeping Changsheng and the two little ones from disturbing her mother's sleep, saw Fuying wake up and a smile appeared on her face.

Fuying sat up and touched Tuanzi's beautiful silver hair.

Just then, the tent flap was lifted, and before Teng even entered, a voice rang out: "Tuanzi, has your mother woken up yet?"

Just as Tuanzi was about to speak, Fuying stood up and said, "She's awake."

Teng looked at Fuying, breathed a sigh of relief, stepped forward and touched her forehead, his long eyebrows furrowed: "Are you feeling unwell?"

Normally, Fuying would wake up very early, and even the slightest noise would disturb her. But today was the day the beastmen were migrating, and they all took it very seriously. They woke up before dawn, but they didn't wake her.

He's come to check three times already, and almost postponed today's migration.

Fu Ying looked up and met Teng's worried dark green eyes, her red lips curving slightly: "It's nothing, I just haven't been sleeping well these past few days."

Upon hearing this, Teng's memories involuntarily drifted back to the night at the foot of Thorn Cliff in the Wind Whisper Tribe.

His Adam's apple bobbed violently a few times, and a glint of light appeared in his eyes.

Tuanzi, oblivious to the ambiguous atmosphere between the two, leaned closer. Her pretty face was filled with unease as she whispered, "Father Teng, is what you said true? We're going to find Father!"

Teng snapped out of his daze, picked up Tuanzi, and said solemnly, "Of course! We're here to find your father!"

Tuanzi reached out and wrapped her arms around Teng's neck, nodded emphatically, and her amber eyes were filled with tears.

Fu Ying looked at the two of them, her narrow eyes filled with tenderness.

When Dan Yue and Luo Heng came to urge them on, the little ones were all dressed in thick cotton-padded clothes.

Fu Ying took one last look at the Black Crocodile Swamp and said softly, "Let's go."

She was held in Teng's arms, covered from head to toe with a thick cloak, so that not a single snowflake would touch her. Luo Heng held Tuanzi in one arm and Changsheng in the other, and walked very steadily.

People from several tribes gathered together, forming an extremely long procession.

Led by the wolves, the fallen orcs, mostly covered in armor and fur, transformed into beasts, carrying their prey. As they traversed the waist-high snow, they resembled snowplows, leaving clear paths for the orcs behind them.

Following closely behind were the Merfolk, with Dan Yue protecting her to one side, holding two cubs in her arms.

The beastmen from the Big Fish Clan, the Cangshan Tribe, and the Rift Sky Tribe followed at a distance.

On the migration route, the biting winds and snow brought by the cold season are the greatest hardship.

Neither the sea beastmen nor the beastmen of the Cangshan tribe had warm, thick feathers, so they had to brave the wind and snow to move forward. Even with the animal hides given by Fuying, some people couldn't hold on for three days.

In the tribe, the elderly and women have developed a fever.

In the Cangshan tribe, someone suggested abandoning the old orcs who couldn't walk anymore, which was not uncommon on the orc continent. However, Mo Yan rejected this idea and gave the old orcs the only remaining thin animal hides in the tribe.

Fu Ying glanced at the orcs of the Cangshan tribe and said to Teng, "Let's set up camp here and rest for a while."

Teng nodded, placed her in a spot free of snow, and turned to take care of it.

Soon, the group stopped, and the orcs quickly set up tents and gathered firewood to boil water. Fuying gave a few tents to the other tribes. Each tribe didn't have many orcs, so it was just enough. They weren't very spacious, but at least they could shelter from the wind and snow and provide some warmth so that everyone wouldn't collapse from the cold during the long journey.

Fuying asked Luoheng to set up a pot and brew a pot of brown sugar ginger tea.

She said softly, "Have Mo Yan and Xing Kong come over and bring some ginger tea back for the old man and the females to drink."

Luo Heng responded and turned to call for someone.

Mo Yan lifted the tent flap and walked in, looking at Fu Ying sitting on a small stool, somewhat drowsy, and pursed his thin lips.

He slowly stepped forward, gazing at her quietly. His scarlet eyes held an indescribable tenderness. When he saw her nod her head, he couldn't help but reach out his hand, wanting to support her. This seemed to be the closest he had ever been to her.

However, before he could reach out, Fuying woke up.

She pinched her brow and looked up at Mo Yan: "Here, I put some medicine in this. It can help the feverish beastmen get better. We can set off after they are better. The beastmen who don't have a fever can also drink some to prevent physical discomfort."

Mo Yan silently withdrew his hand, his fingertips clenched until they turned white, and said in a hoarse voice, "Okay."

It was rare for Mo Yan to be so obedient, and Fu Ying looked at him with some surprise.

At this moment, Xingkong, Benlang, and Jingqiang arrived, and Fuying brewed several more pots of ginger tea for them to take back to the orcs.

As a seasoned alchemist, her treatment was naturally effective, and the sick orc recovered quickly. After a hearty meal, he was ready to continue his journey when news suddenly arrived that an orc from the Great Fish Clan had gone missing.

"Gone?" Fu Ying frowned as she looked at Jing Qiang, whose face was grave. "Have you sent people out to look for him?"

Jing Qiang nodded, speaking quickly and urgently: "We've already sent people to look for them, but they all say there's no news. They were just gathering firewood; they wouldn't be out there for so long. Something must have happened! Witch..."

He wanted to ask Fuying for help in finding the person, but they had already received a great deal of help from the shaman along the way.

Fu Ying did not refuse. She narrowed her eyes and said calmly, "It seems that we are being watched."

Although the cold season is dangerous, if a wild animal kidnaps a person, it will definitely leave traces, unless the perpetrator is not human.

Furthermore, the commotion caused by the long procession would scare away wild beasts, preventing them from approaching. Only those orcs who had no suspicions would attack them. Undoubtedly, the orcs from the tribes in the North Mountain were nearby, following them.

"We've been targeted?" Jing Qiang was taken aback, his expression turning somewhat grim.

Fuying stood up and said to Luoheng, "I'll have to trouble you to find someone again."

Luo Heng shook his head, turned and walked out of the tent. Fu Ying stepped forward, took his hand, and whispered, "Let's go together."

Luo Heng paused slightly, then suddenly clenched her hands, wrapping Fu Ying's fingertips completely in her palm: "Okay."

He was a plant-beastman. Although there was little visible greenery on the ground during the cold season, their roots were buried in the frozen soil. Communicating with them required more effort, but it was far faster and safer than the beastmen searching separately.

Fuying followed Luoheng as they walked through the snow, occasionally stopping to touch the frozen ground.

Not long after, Luo Heng looked up at Fu Ying, her purple eyes filled with solemnity: "There are quite a few people on the other side of the woods."

"Let's go." Fu Ying nodded and pulled Luo Heng toward the place where the Beishan tribe was stationed.

The many tribes of Beishan united to head to the Triangle Sea, but unlike her, they didn't have medicinal herbs, food, or even tents to shelter them from the wind and snow. Their situation was bound to be more difficult. It hadn't been long before they were forced to eat beastmen.
