Chapter 35, The Pearl of Enrollment, Requesting Recommendation Votes.
That day, Chen Hao and his father went to Mingzhu Academy together.
Although Pearl Academy does not have any truly special admissions programs, it does lower the standards for some rare magic-based students. For example, Chen Hao, a summoner, is only at the mid-level and is just going through the motions.
It wasn't even an interview; Chen Hao simply had his magic level tested in front of five professors and department heads, and casually summoned his bull-horse beast for a brief appearance, and he passed immediately.
“We’ll take this student from the Summoning Department!” said Jiang Yunming, the head of the Summoning Department.
There was no dramatic incident like Mo Fan's enrollment, and all five department heads and professors nodded in approval.
"Welcome to Pearl Academy, Chen Hao," the bespectacled professor said with a smile.
"Thank you, Professor/Director!"
"Your minor is in the Department of Light, right? If you become interested in the Department of Light after you enroll, you can audit some classes," the female professor from the Department of Light said.
"Thank you, teacher," Chen Hao replied respectfully, though he couldn't help but chuckle inwardly.
He is no longer a simple summoning mage. Devouring magic, aura growth, primal construct magic, mental control... his growth path has long surpassed the comprehension of traditional magic systems.
Stepping out of the administration building, sunlight streamed onto the campus avenues. The magnificent buildings of Mingzhu University were bustling with students from all over the country. Standing on the steps, Chen Hao gazed at this vibrant scene and couldn't help but feel hopeful for the future.
Chen Hongsheng, the father, stood not far away, a cigarette dangling from his lips, and chuckled: "Let's go, kid. Get your dorm settled first, then I'll treat you to a nice meal tonight."
"Okay." Chen Hao nodded.
Students at the Qing Campus are required to live on campus during their first semester, even if they are spoiled rich kids like Zhao Manyan. Only in the second semester are students allowed to live off-campus freely.
The dormitory building is located directly south of the east gate of the Qing Campus. As one of the top universities in the country, the conditions are naturally excellent, especially for rare students like those in the Summoning Department.
Eight people lived in a 150-square-meter house with four bedrooms, a living room, and a bathroom. It was fully equipped with all kinds of appliances and furniture. You have to know that this is Shanghai, where land is extremely valuable. Only a super college like Mingzhu Academy can provide such amazing conditions for its students.
Of course, accommodation isn't cheap either; it's a very real issue. Don't assume that being a genius means you can get free tuition; there are geniuses everywhere here, without exception.
Chen Hao and his father found their dormitory and stood in front of room 404. The door was ajar, and they could vaguely hear conversations coming from inside.
"Let's go, let's go inside and see your hideout for the next few years," Chen Hongsheng said, a cigarette dangling from his lips.
"I might not stay here for long," Chen Hao replied casually, then pushed open the door and went inside.
Sure enough, several people had already arrived in the dormitory. Upon hearing the commotion, someone in the living room immediately looked up.
"Hey, a newbie here!" A stylishly dressed boy with dyed brown hair stood up from the sofa, a bit cocky on his face. "Summoning type, right? Room 404 is all Summoning type. I'm Xu Yang, Level 3, Beginner Summoning type!"
"Chen Hao." Chen Hao nodded in response, his gaze quickly sweeping across the living room.
Besides Xu Yang, there were two other boys in the living room. One looked thin and weak, while the other was as fat as a ball. Both of them silently sized him up.
"Dude, you've got a great body. I wonder how many female students you'll be able to eat in the future." Xu Yang teased, then waved his hand and said, "Come on, let me introduce you. That skinny monkey is Lin Xiao, also a beginner level three, and his summoned beast is a monster-eating bird. The fat guy over there eating potato chips is Gao Yuntao, and his summoned beast is a rampaging alligator turtle."
Lin Xiao, who was as thin as a bamboo pole, nodded to Chen Hao with a wary expression; Gao Yuntao, holding a bag of potato chips, lazily raised his hand and said, "Welcome, welcome, buddy, pick any bed you like, just don't disturb my meal."
“The room is already full with four people,” Xu Yang said with a smile, patting Chen Hao on the shoulder. “You’re the fifth one here, so you can only choose someone to share a room with. Why don’t you stay with me? I’m easygoing and don’t have many rules.”
"Whatever," Chen Hao nodded.
"As expected of Mingzhu University, the accommodations here are amazing. I thought Hangzhou University's four-person crammed-in single room was the most luxurious I'd ever seen." Chen Hongsheng looked around with satisfaction. Just then, with a click, the door to the innermost room suddenly opened.
"Tch, where did this country bumpkin come from? You're such a grown man, why do you still need your dad to take you to school?"
Before the words were finished, a well-dressed, arrogant young man stepped out. His gaze first swept over Chen Hao, then he glanced disdainfully at Chen Hongsheng, who showed little magical fluctuation, and said contemptuously, "New here? I'm in charge of room 404. Once you're in this room, you have to listen to me. Remember that!"
"He is Feng Ziming, and his summoned beast is an advanced-stage Silver Rock Ape." Xu Yang whispered a reminder to Chen Hao, his tone tinged with helplessness. "This guy is quite strong, but he has a terrible temper. He's always trying to set rules in the dormitory, and the first few people who came in were all intimidated by him."
"Oh?" Chen Hao looked at the other party with a half-smile, his face calm, but his eyes revealed a sharp edge.
Has the unique French feature been triggered? The "Idiot-Lowering Aura" has been activated!
"What are you saying, you little brat..." Chen Hongsheng's face turned red upon hearing this, and he was about to rush forward when Chen Hao stopped him before he could finish speaking.
"Dad, you rest, I'll take care of this."
He smiled at Feng Ziming, his tone slightly teasing: "What can you do if I don't listen to you?"
Feng Ziming snorted coldly, a sinister smug look on his face: "Hmph, you think you can be protected by school rules? My brother is a top 100 figure on the main campus's popularity list. If I want to deal with you, it's just a matter of saying a word."
Oh? Instead of taking action right away, they went straight to the backstage.
A hint of amusement flashed in Chen Hao's eyes: Sure enough, there was no "brain drain" aura; this school was very real, no different from the bullying in his previous life. The only difference was—everyone now controlled magic.
"Top 100 in the main campus?" Chen Hao laughed, his face showing no trace of apprehension, but rather a mischievous grin. "My apologies, my apologies. May I ask you something—"
Where is your brother now?
"Of course it's on the main campus!" Feng Ziming said, looking completely bewildered.
"So you mean, not here?"
"Are you out of your mind? Of course not—"
"Then what makes you so arrogant!"
Chen Hao suddenly roared, instantly shattering the silence in the air.
With a stomp of his foot, he pulled out the heavy "fatherly love baton" from the contract space and swung it around!
when!
The sound was deafening, like a steam hammer striking iron. The baton slammed into the railing, bending the metal instantly, sending sparks flying, and making the entire dormitory buzz.
Feng Ziming was completely dumbfounded, frozen on the spot, his face turning deathly pale.
Holy crap, have I run into a lunatic?
Chen Hao had made up his mind: he would beat this idiot to a pulp and teach him a lesson about what it means for a common man's anger to cause bloodshed!
Since you're not getting angry, can I just turn on you?
Who says only villains can act stupidly? I'm going to flip the table right now!
Chen Hao's favorite thing to do is also to flip tables!
"You want to set rules?" Chen Hao brandished his baton, his voice laced with chilling intent. "Sorry, I'm in charge of this house now."
I'm asking for recommendation votes and monthly tickets, brothers!
