Chapter 28. Sister Dudu at the Library (Please continue reading)
"Waqu... He's sleeping so soundly, he's even drooling." Yang Zi stood leisurely by the sofa with his arms crossed, watching Lin Shaobai and taking a funny picture of him sleeping.

"She's probably just been too tired lately; she can even fall asleep like this on the sofa..."

Actually, Yang Zi came over to tell Lin Shaobai that the music team needed to see him urgently.

"Lin Shaobai?"

The other side was pressing hard, so Yang Zi could only reach out and push Lin Shaobai's shoulder after watching for a while.

After being pushed roughly five times, Lin Shaobai finally opened his eyes.

He opened his eyes and saw his co-star, an actress, staring at him with big eyes.

"I go!"

The scene was so terrifying that Lin Shaobai immediately started rolling around on the sofa.

Yang Zi: "Can you calm down a bit? You're making it sound like my face is scary."

"It's not a question of whether a face is scary or not. Anyone would be scared if they woke up and saw a face so close to them, right?"

"Alright. You barely passed. I came here to tell you that Teacher Sa Dingding is looking for you."

"Sa Ding Ding?"

Sa Dingding was mainly responsible for the soundtrack of the TV series "Ashes of Love".

She was responsible for producing many of the songs, such as "Left Finger Pointing to the Moon" and "Undyed".

Both songs were very popular at the time.

"They're looking for you, aren't you going to go see them?"

Lin Shaobai rubbed his face with his hands and nodded: "Alright, I didn't expect Teacher Sa to come looking for me."

Afterwards, Lin Shaobai was led by Yang Zi to Sa Dingding's lounge.

"Hello, Teacher Sa Dingding."

Lin Shaobai greeted him politely.

Sa Dingding's face immediately lit up with a smile when she saw Lin Shaobai: "Lin Shaobai, why didn't you say you could sing sooner?"

Lin Shaobai: "Hmm?"

"I have a song that was tailor-made for you, called 'Undyed'."

Sa Dingding had already started composing the theme song when she was in charge of the music for this TV series.

The only song we haven't decided on is "Undyed".
A while ago, Mao Mao appeared on The Coming One, and Sa Dingding thought about inviting him to sing this song.

Later, due to various reasons, the search for a singer was temporarily put on hold.

It just so happens that the second season of The Voice of China aired at this time.

If there are people in the production crew who can sing, why look for someone else?
Lin Shaobai first scanned the lyrics, and then listened to the demo.

Regardless of what others think, Lin Shaobai thinks "Undyed" is a very nice song.

The lyrics are full of classical Chinese charm, the arrangement is well-structured, and the melody is simple yet catchy.

The song's data is astonishing. In 2020, it had already reached 271 billion plays and 280 million paid copies sold on the platform, making it the best-selling film soundtrack in history.

It even became the number one OST for Chinese dramas in the past decade, with "Liang Liang" from "Eternal Love" ranking second.

Sa Dingding and Mao Mao became incredibly popular back then with their song "Bu Ran," which became one of Mao Mao's signature hits.

It's often said that bad dramas produce hit songs, but "Ashes of Love" seems to have broken this rule.

"I saw your performance on The Voice of China, it was amazing. It's like we've found the right person to sing this song."

Sa Dingding trusts Lin Shaobai a lot.

Lin Shaobai: "Don't worry, Teacher Sa. Since you've entrusted this song to me, I'll definitely sing it well."

After agreeing on a time to go to the recording studio, Lin Shaobai returned to his original dressing room.

Just as I sat down on the sofa, Yang Zi walked in.

"Speaking of which, I was about to ask you that back then, was that little girl named Zhou Ye your classmate?"

Lin Shaobai: "To be precise, she's my senior sister."

"Oh...she's really pretty, she looks a bit like Zhang Ziyi."

"Huh?" Lin Shaobai's eyes widened.

Yang Zi quickly smiled and said, "Hey, I do think it looks a bit like it. Think about it carefully, don't you think it does?"

Lin Shaobai: "A little, I guess."

Celebrities can sometimes look alike; for example, many people say that Zhou Ye and Zhang Jingyi look alike.

Lu Yuxiao and Nakamura Ichiyo, an idol from the Korean girl group, both look quite like Bae Suzy. Song Zuer used to say she looked like Jang Baek-ji. Li Xiaoqin and Sun Yi, Bai Lu and Li Yitong, Kim Jisoo and Tang Wei...

Lin Shaobai hadn't noticed this before.

"She cares about you a lot; she even bought you something."

Yang Zi joked.

Lin Shaobai glanced at the things on the table: "I am quite concerned."

……

……

……

Next Friday evening, the second season of The Voice of China will premiere on time.

However, Lin Shaobai was not in this episode; instead, the students were chosen by the other mentors.

Lin Shaobai returned to school over the weekend and went to the school library to find the books recommended by his acting teacher.

While looking for a seat, I glanced at a girl by chance.

He wasn't sure if it was just his imagination, but he really felt that the girl in the white shirt in the corner looked a lot like Sister Dudu.

The girl was reading a book while picking up her water cup. She was so focused that her arm touched the cup, and it was about to fall to the ground.

Upon seeing this, Lin Shaobai strode over and steadily took the water glass in his hand, then looked at the person in front of him.

Chen Duling's fair face was now looking up at Lin Shaobai.

When she had no expression, her face was extremely aloof. But when she saw Lin Shaobai, she smiled serenely: "What a coincidence, Teacher Lin Shaobai. It's nice to meet you here."

Lin Shaobai felt that she really resembled a human-machine at this moment.

"Why is Sister Dudu in the library of Beijing Film Academy?"

Chen Duling looked around and then said, "I wanted to come here to read some books and, by the way, meet some people."

"I see." Lin Shaobai put Chen Duling's water glass back in its original place.

"Thank you." Chen Duling maintained her standard polite smile.

Lin Shaobai sat opposite her, speaking softly because they were in the library: "It's okay, I just happened to see you and decided to lend a hand."

He noticed that Chen Duling was neither wearing a mask nor a hat, and was dressed in simple, casual everyday clothes.

However, the students from the Beijing Film Academy around them seemed quite calm.

After greeting Lin Shaobai, Chen Duling continued to read quietly by herself, as if everything happening around her had nothing to do with her.

She was completely absorbed in her own world.

Lin Shaobai was inexplicably inspired by this learning atmosphere, and he took out the books he had borrowed earlier and started reading them.

About half an hour later, Chen Duling gently closed the book, tidied up her belongings, and got up from her seat.

She tapped the page of the book Lin Shaobai had opened with her slender finger, a slight smile playing on her lips: "Um, Mr. Lin Shaobai, I have to go now."

Lin Shaobai snapped out of his daze: "Ah... okay. Bye-bye then."

Chen Duling turned her head and glanced at the overcast sky, then quietly took an umbrella out of her bag and placed it on the corner of Lin Shaobai's table.

The action was so careful that Lin Shaobai didn't notice it for a long time.

"The umbrella... was it left to me by Sister Dudu? At least say something."

Lin Shaobai smiled helplessly.

It's Tuesday, so please keep reading, everyone! There'll be another chapter tonight.
