Blue Card Starry Sky
Chapter 49 Blue Venerable Holy Land
Chapter 49 Blue Venerable Holy Land
Qin Lei showed Lan Tian around the entire Lan family mansion, including Lan Zun's cultivation grounds, rooms, treasure pavilion, and underground palace. For Lan Tian, the Lan family now had no shortage of money, medicinal herbs and pills, cultivation equipment, or minerals; what they lacked were talented individuals, high-level experts, and a well-trained, powerful fighting force.
The Lan family's backyard connects directly to the Endless Mountains, where Lan Zun once cultivated his skills. Many of these former training grounds have been sealed off and are now forbidden areas. Lan Tian thinks he needs to speak with the ancestor, Lan Zun, who single-handedly brought the Lan family to prominence, making them a legend in the Blue Card Star Region. The Endless Sea is Lan Zun's domain, his home where he struggled and honed his skills, his path to growth.
Lan Tian has no doubt about the Lan family's status in Xiaoyao City; it is top-tier. After all, few families can produce Venerable Saints and unify the martial arts world.
Lan Tian settled down in Xiaoyao City, letting Qin Lei take care of everything so he could focus on his cultivation. In order for Xiangyang City to develop smoothly and improve, he specially asked Xiao Weiqing to go back and participate in its management and training. Qin Lei also specially selected some high-level experts to go back with Xiao Weiqing, so that they could work together harmoniously with Xiao Weiqing and make Xiangyang City bigger and stronger.
Lan Tian calmed down to cultivate, and his top priority was to talk to Lan Di. He specifically instructed his servants not to disturb him and to cultivate behind closed doors.
Lan Tian entered his own soul's sea of consciousness and couldn't wait to have a long and detailed talk with Lan Di.
"Ancestor, this is the home you built with your own hands. Is there anything special about it?"
"Good lad, why would you ask that?" Lan Di asked with a serious expression, noticing that Lan Tian had a question in his mind, and realized that he had discovered something!
"I just feel there's something special about it. Our ancestors must have kept something important or some secret."
"Hahaha, you little rascal, you even guessed that! There's a secret realm in this house, it's my secret, the one that helped me grow. It was also the shortcut to my rise to power, and now it should belong to you! Everything depends on your own destiny. The secrets of the Lan family must not be revealed to outsiders!" Lan Di called Lan Tian over and secretly told him the secret, without letting the old demon know, as he didn't trust the old demon.
"I understand, thank you, Ancestor."
"Alright, go!" Lan Di told Lan Tian to go and explore the secret realm, to see if he had any extraordinary encounters. Everything depended on him; no one could help him. Lan Tian thanked the ancestor and returned to reality, following the ancestor's instructions to investigate the secret realm. He left the room and arrived at the backyard of the ancient house, where he came to a mysterious palace. It was surrounded by high walls, without a single door or window. What was this place? How did he get in? Indeed, he saw nothing; there were no doors or windows to enter. But this was a mysterious place, and only Lan Di knew how to enter, because it was within the barrier he had set up that contained the entrance to the secret realm.
Lan Tian arrived here, sat cross-legged, and began meditating. He needed to enter a meditative state for cultivation. Following the secret command given by Lan Di, Lan Tian slowly disappeared and appeared in the mysterious palace. A special energy fluctuation emanated from this place, making the entire palace shimmer with light and time, constantly shifting and churning. Wasn't this a small-scale portal to another dimension? Lan Tian, with his understanding of space and time, knew this was a portal. He didn't know where it led or what lay inside, but his ancestor had said it was a miraculous opportunity that would surely bring him great benefits and rewards. He was determined to go in and see for himself; his ancestor certainly wouldn't harm him.
Thinking this, Lan Tian resolutely stepped into the portal and disappeared. Everything immediately returned to normal. When Lan Tian reappeared, he found himself in an isolated, otherworldly space. It was the main hall of a palace. The palace was very spacious, brightly lit with lamps, illuminating the space as if it were daytime. There was a roof, but no sky was visible. The walls surrounded him, with no doors or windows, so he couldn't see outside. He had no idea where he was, how to get back, or how to get out!
Just as Lan Tian was at a loss for what to do, a door appeared in the wall behind him with a few whooshing sounds, and an enraged beast charged out. Seeing Lan Tian, it charged straight at him, determined to tear him to pieces. The sudden appearance and direct charge at Lan Tian meant that a direct hit would be fatal or severely injured. Lan Tian's first thought was to fly away and dodge, so he immediately spread his wings and took flight.
"Damn it! I can't fly!" Just as Lan Tian was about to take flight, a powerful pressure prevented him from spreading his wings. Flight was prohibited here. What to do? It was extremely urgent. Without time to think, Lan Tian activated his ice-attribute skills. "Crack, crack, crack!" Ice walls rose up in front of him, hoping to stop the beast from attacking him directly. To be safe, Lan Tian retreated repeatedly, creating more and thicker ice walls. He didn't know what would happen if he killed the beast, or whether it would endanger him. His priority was to stop the beast's attack.
With a series of "thumps," three ice walls shattered, followed by "cracks," as ice fragments littered the ground. The beast finally stopped, panting heavily, but even more enraged, it accelerated backward to charge again. Lan Tian now realized that this beast wasn't a high-level expert, just a brute, and not particularly dangerous. He decided to eliminate it and see what else appeared. Acting on his thought, Lan Tian took the initiative, denying it another chance to charge. He circled around to the beast's rear and unleashed his full-force, deadly attack—a lightning strike. Lan Tian concentrated his energy into a powerful bolt of lightning. "Crack! Boom!" The beast flew forward, its rear end slamming into the wall, where it slid down, motionless. Lan Tian's single, deadly strike had annihilated the beast cleanly and efficiently.
Only then did Lan Tian feel relieved and carefully observe his surroundings. The wild beast was dead, the door was still there, and no other wild beasts were seen rushing out; peace had returned. Lan Tian cautiously and slowly walked over to see what was inside the door. Upon closer inspection, it was pitch black inside; he could see nothing and there wasn't a sound.
Lan Tian didn't know what to do, whether to go in, or how to get back down. There was no way to go anywhere except for this open door. Lan Tian made up his mind and slowly walked through the door. It was pitch black inside, and he couldn't see anything. Suddenly, with a "click," lights came on, illuminating the entire room. Then, with a "bang," the door behind him slammed shut, and he found himself in another room, another palace.
A series of thumping sounds came from somewhere. Where was I? Blue sky…
