Chapter 793 Disappointment
Back at the coffee shop, Conan quickly asked, "You didn't do anything, did you?"

When Conan saw Shuichi Akai again, he could clearly sense the murderous intent emanating from him.

This feeling is a bit inexplicable, but it's there.

I have a feeling that the so-called sentry might have already lost his life.

"No, we just told them to shut up. We only have half an hour, so we need to speed things up."

Shuichi Akai didn't tell the truth; through just two brief encounters, he had almost completely seen through Conan's personality.

Conan has an eccentric personality, insists on absolute justice, and always has to invoke the law as a powerful tool in everything he does.

This may be related to age. Sometimes society is not solely governed by law; interpersonal relationships and special handling are also principles of conduct.

If he doesn't kill these two people, the distillery will have two more outsiders, and who knows, some innocent person might die as a result.

There's a saying that goes, "I didn't kill Bo Ren, but Bo Ren died because of me."

It's pretty much the same principle.

The driver was knocked unconscious and placed in the car, while Conan and Shuichi Akai stormed into the brewery's temporary base.

This is an ordinary house, but it occupies a large area, somewhat similar to the house of Shinichiro.

"Be careful not to trigger any mechanisms. The winery base is basically full of trigger mechanisms. People who don't know about them can easily get into trouble if they wander in."

Conan gave Shuichi Akai a deep look: "Uncle Shuichi, you know so much, and you're very familiar with their methods of deploying hidden sentries, it's as if you've been in this organization before!"

Shuichi Akai seemed not to hear him, and cautiously moved forward, having already crossed the entrance hallway and arrived at the living room door.

Following in the other person's footsteps, Conan walked along closely.

He had carefully observed the spot where Shuichi Akai had hidden, and found no traps or mechanisms in many places.

However, he did not conclude that there was no trap; he probably just hadn't seen it.

The living room wasn't particularly special, except for the wine cabinet next to the TV stand, which was filled with a lot of foreign liquor and red wine. If it were Kogoro Mouri visiting, he would probably be completely under his thumb.

Rye Whiskey

"Hey, didn't you say not to touch things?"

Seeing Shuichi Akai suddenly pick up a bottle of rye whiskey and seem to be reminiscing about something, Conan's lips twitched.

However, this bottle contains sherry, gin, Vermouth, vodka, and other spirits. Could it be that the number of different types of spirits is based on the number of codename members?
After counting, there are nearly thirty types of alcohol. If that's true, then there are at least thirty codenamed members. Gin and vodka are already giving me a huge headache; if there are thirty...
Conan felt a wave of dizziness.

“There are many kinds, but not all of them are still alive,” Shuichi Akai suddenly said meaningfully.

Reassured, Conan began to observe other areas.

The purpose of coming to this base is actually very simple: to collect information related to the winery. Only by mastering information can we gain an advantage in the confrontation. This is an eternal truth.

After spending some time exploring the entire house, the two found very little.

Conan's face was extremely sour. He had taken such a big risk, first finding Shuichi Akai, someone he didn't quite trust, then going to the Black Organization's base, and even showing up in front of several peripheral members, only to get this result?

Anyone would feel uncomfortable in that situation.

He still held onto hope.

The only discovery was in one of the rooms, where they found disguise tools belonging to Fumiyo Edogawa.

However, since he already knew that Edogawa Fumiyo was Vermouth in disguise, this news seemed insignificant, at most confirming his guess again.

Fortunately, Shuichi Akai didn't know enough about Conan and didn't realize that the mask was related to Conan.

Conan refused to give up and frantically searched again, checking table legs, drawers, bathroom ceiling, and even the toilet cistern—he practically stuck his hand into the toilet's drainpipe. But even so, he found nothing. This didn't feel like a base at all; it was more like a temporary stop.

"There's nothing here. It seems this is just a temporary base."

Shuichi Akai frowned. "We're not very lucky, but that does explain why an outsider could bring a driver. It probably means this place isn't that important."

By the time the two lost interest, nearly half an hour had passed.

Conan glanced at his watch. "Let's go, we've almost reached the agreed-upon half hour."

"it is good."

Shuichi Akai originally didn't intend to leave easily. Gin had probably gone to Higashida Investment Co., Ltd., and Jodie might be able to delay Gin for a while.

But half an hour passed and Judy still hadn't contacted him, which was a big problem.

Either Gin has overwhelming firepower and has already wiped out the FBI agents, or he has encountered other troubles.

He didn't think Gin had that kind of strength; it could only be that he had encountered other troubles.

Just as the two were about to leave, Shuichi Akai glanced out the window and his expression immediately changed.

Gin and vodka are back!
About five minutes faster than expected, that's the power of vodka!
"Brother, we can't contact the sentries either. Should we still go in?"

Vodka stood there hesitantly, facing Gin, his eyes filled with worry.

That's Shuichi Akai after all. That guy tricked him a lot, and now just hearing his name gives me the creeps.

"It's definitely not necessary anymore, he's out!"

Gin stood calmly, but his eyes narrowed as he stared directly at Shuichi Akai, who was wearing a black jacket.

"Akai Shuichi!"

He was both angry and amused.

I'm furious that the other party dares to show up in front of me. I'm laughing because they're here to kill me.

"You rat, you finally dare to show your face in front of me?"

"What's there to be afraid of? Besides, don't you know who the real rat in the sewer is?"

Shuichi Akai scoffed:
"Do you dare to make a move in broad daylight? Aren't you afraid of attracting the attention of the police? With your recent series of actions, the police are keeping a close eye on you. If this base is exposed, and the police know that you have a base in Tokyo, then there will be a large-scale search. Do you think you can still escape?"

This is why Shuichi Akai dared to make such a grand appearance.

Of course, another reason was to see if the inability to contact Jodie was related to Gin.

Now it seems that there shouldn't be.

This puts him at ease.

He glanced back and saw that he was holding the line; Conan must have already left.

This kid is interesting; he doesn't want Gin to find out about him.

"Big brother, we..."

Vodka thought what the other party said made a lot of sense, and since Shuichi Akai dared to appear openly in front of them, it was hard to say what kind of tricks he had up his sleeve.
