Chapter 7 The Glory of Soldiers

Chapter 7 The Glory of Soldiers
"Old Tan!"

Wu Qianli walked over with a hint of excitement, shook hands, and shouted.

"Who is that?"

"I don't remember any of those young soldiers from the Seventh Company."

Tan Ziwei patted Wu Qianli on the shoulder and looked at Wu Wanli to ask.

"His name is Wu Wanli."

Wu Qianli smiled slightly and gave a brief explanation.

"War has broken out from a hundred miles away, a thousand miles away, ten thousand miles away..."

Tan Ziwei murmured with a hint of emotion.

"That kid's pretty reckless!"

"He followed me all the way here to join the army, and even tried to stop the commander's car!"

Wu Qianli said, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

"However, Comrade Xiao Wanli is full of awareness and fighting spirit!"

"This is a song he wrote called 'The Spirit of the Chinese Army'!"

Mei Sheng pulled out a crumpled piece of paper and praised it.

"Red flags flutter, bugles sound... In a narrow encounter, the brave prevail..."

"Not bad! You have the guts of your brother!"

As Tan Ziwei spoke, he approached Wu Wanli and praised him.

"This is Tan Ziwei, the 160th man of the 7th Infiltration Company!"

"He blew up Japanese pillboxes and blockhouses, and even led a dozen men to chase after an entire battalion of the National Revolutionary Army!"

"Oh, right! He joined the army with your brother Wu Baili, an invincible hero!"

Yu Congrong leaned close to Wu Wanli's ear and reminded him.

"An indestructible hero."

Wu Wanli murmured as he looked at Tan Ziwei.

His khaki military uniform was stained with dried blood, his face bore the marks of fatigue and the passage of time, and his eyes revealed a deep and resolute determination.

"hero?"

"You joined the army at such a young age. Have you ever seen enemy planes?"

Tan Ziwei asked with a smile.

Upon hearing this, Wu Wanli immediately shook his head.

"As soon as the plane's tail opens, guns and cannons come down."

“But we are patches of yellow clothes, standing close together.”

"What should we call our fallen comrade?"

"What should we call someone who marched for six days and six nights without sleeping and freezing to death?"

"What should we call those who rushed to within ten meters of the enemy before throwing a grenade, only to be blown up themselves?"

Tan Ziwei looked directly into Wu Wanli's eyes and spoke slowly. Upon hearing this, Wu Qianli, who was standing to the side, felt a pang in his heart.

Wu Baili, along with countless soldiers of the Seventh Company, sacrificed their lives on the battlefield, becoming numbers and names on his notebook.

"There are no heroes who can't freeze to death, and there are no heroes who can't be killed; there is only the glory of a soldier!"

A resolute glint appeared in Tan Ziwei's eyes as he spoke with a firm and powerful voice.

"The glory of a soldier!"

Wu Wanli straightened his back, saluted, and shouted loudly, his heart filled with excitement.

This is a red army with faith.

They were not afraid of bloodshed or sacrifice.

For the sake of the country and the people, we fear no enemy, no matter how powerful!

"War may be coming soon, and passion alone is not enough."

"Train them properly."

Tan Ziwei smiled slightly, patted Wu Wanli on the shoulder, and then strode away.

"The entire company will disband and rest for one hour, then head to the shooting range for shooting practice!"

Wu Qianli shouted loudly as he watched Tan Ziwei's departing figure.

After the order was given, most of the soldiers in the Seventh Company quickly took off their gear and lay down to rest.

"Brother, I'm going out for a walk."

Wu Wanli asked for instructions.

"Don't go too far, and remember to come back early."

Wu Qianli nodded and reminded him.

"Don't worry, I'll be back in half an hour."

After responding, Wu Wanli quickly walked out the door.

However, he had only been out for a short time when he accidentally bumped into a soldier.

"Excuse me, comrade, are you alright?"

Wu Wanli patted the soldier's clothes apologetically and said.

"It's nothing, it's nothing. We're all comrades in the revolutionary ranks, it's nothing."

The soldier opposite seemed a little reserved and quickly responded.

"My name is Wu Wanli, from the Seventh Infiltration Company. If you're feeling really upset in the middle of the night, you can come to me and vent your frustrations, hahaha..."

Wu Wanli joked.

"Comrade, you're joking. I joined the Children's Corps when I was nine years old. I've been through countless shockwaves from Japanese artillery shells, let alone just being hit by one."

"My name is Zhang Taofang. I'm currently a communications officer, but I'll soon be assigned to a combat unit, though I don't know exactly where."

The soldier said with a smile.

Those familiar with the history and plot should know that some characters have been introduced earlier than expected. Don't worry too much about the timing; after all, my writing style is quite different from those novels that simply insert a main character and copy the script.
