Chapter 199 Blackbird
Scarlett didn't leave anything behind at Lake Nega; the so-called ring was just an excuse.

However, the bodyguard who jumped in actually found a ring at the bottom of the lake.

Others also brought up some things one after another. When they were placed under the light, they turned out to be pieces of clothing torn into pieces and stained with blood.

Everyone was shocked.

Scarlett spread the fabric on the ground and roughly pieced it together.

It's a woman's clothing.

Scarlett returned to the Yaanna Theater with these items, slammed them on the table, and said in a sinister tone, "Mergard, it seems you have more than just dogs!"

Murgard glanced at the things in Scarlett's hands. They were scattered and he couldn't really tell what they were, but they were covered in blood and looked like they came from an unknown source and were dangerous.

He swallowed hard, suppressing his nervousness, and protested, "Boss, I'm not lying to you, I really only have Dog God."

"Have you done anything else that is morally reprehensible?"

"for example?"

"The male in the underground hall."

"This……"

Mergard hesitated and cried out, "I did kill and rob, but I didn't raise any other animals. I killed people and then fed them to the dog god. I didn't tell anyone. I really don't know anything about what you have."

Scarlett didn't say anything.

She wanted to use these things to trick Mergard, but now it seems that the information she could get from Mergard is indeed limited.

We can only use him as bait to lure out the others.

Scarlett's eyes flickered, her expression softened, and she smiled, "Okay, I believe you. It's getting late, let's go to sleep."

Murgard was locked in the smallest, darkest, and most airtight room.

There was a single bed inside. Lying down in the dark, enclosed space felt like being in a coffin. Looking at the ceiling that seemed within reach, I felt a strange sense of oppression, as if my life had come to an end.

"What's going on here?" Mergard said with a worried expression.

suddenly.

A drop of liquid slid down the ceiling.

It dripped onto Mergard's forehead.

He touched his fingers and looked at them.

The dark, oppressive room was so dark that he couldn't see anything. He could only put his fingertips under his nose and sniff to see what it was.

This smell was incredible.

The strong smell of blood rushed into his nose, startling him so much that he immediately jumped out of bed.

But as soon as he got up, before he could even get out of bed, a bright light suddenly flashed in front of him.

A pair of deep, dark eyes slowly approached him.

……

……

Scarlett told everyone about the situation at Lake Nega.

Before he could finish speaking, a dark shadow swept past the French windows.

It was a bird flapping its wings and flying into the distance.

“It’s that again.” Scarlett frowned.

"Who?" Chi Ye asked, looking up.

Scarlett pointed to the bird that had already flown away, "It."

Everyone looked in the direction she was pointing.

In the pitch-black night, I couldn't see anything.

Riley asked warily, "Mistress, what did you see?"

Scarlett: "A black bird, very much like a crow. It appeared when the three dogs died, and also on the mountain when Chi Ye and I went to mine ore."

"A black bird?" Mo Ting was slightly taken aback.

“Looks like a crow?” Holst pondered intently.

Combining these two pieces of information, Chi Ye's eyes lit up, "It's a blackbird."

"A blackbird?" Ashley looked at Chi Ye.

Chi Ye nodded, "His Majesty keeps a blackbird by his side, so I know. This bird is about 80% similar to a crow, and it's easy to confuse them."

"The blackbird is the national bird of our planet Cassinia. It is very rare, with fewer than ten left in the entire country. Your Majesty's blackbird was a gift from my mother, the Queen, to celebrate the tenth anniversary of diplomatic relations between our two countries."

Upon hearing that it was a blackbird, Brian immediately explained to everyone, "This bird has long been extinct in other countries; it only exists on our planet Cassinia. Why would it appear here?"

Riley's expression changed as he looked at the smallest secret room. "Blackbirds can foresee danger. Disasters usually occur where they appear, so they can be seen as reminders and warnings."

Tyron quickly picked up the key and opened the door to the secret room.

Light poured in.

The sealed environment immediately provided a breakthrough.

Mergard scrambled out of the room.

Half of his throat had been cut off. He clutched his wound and groaned in pain, his mouth wide open as he gasped for breath, but he could not escape the fate of taking in little air and exhaling much.

He was on the verge of dying.

Murgard knelt at Scarlett's feet, his bloodied hands gripping her trouser leg, shaking her desperately. His usually shrewd eyes were now filled with pleading and tears.

This was his only chance to live, a fleeting opportunity he had to seize. He wanted to live.

He doesn't want to die.

Save him! Please save him!

Mo Ting and Holst slipped into the secret room.

There was no one inside.

Ashley looked down at the pitiful Murgard, but couldn't bear it, so he turned his head away.

Brian was more rational; he knew that Murgard had done many bad things, so he watched coldly and ignored him.

Zheko stayed by Scarlett's side, staring at Murgard's hand, his fist itching to strike.

A life is about to end before your eyes.

Scarlett's initial emotion was actually indifference.

Murgard killed so many people; he deserved to die now.

but.

The thought that Murgard's death would ruin his plans was unbearable.

Scarlett calmed herself down, took out a hemostatic bandage from her spatial storage, and applied it to Murgard just as he was about to die. She then gave him an injection of a blood-replenishing agent.

Once the mission is complete, she will hand over Murgard to the rightful owner.

Now is not the time.

Scarlett squatted on the ground, looking at Murgard who was on the verge of death but had been saved. She patted his face and said quietly, "Look, Murgard, someone wanted to kill you, but I saved you. Remember to listen to me, or next time, I'll cut off the other side of your neck."

……

……

However, the attack on Mergard did not bring peace to the night.

Instead, it added to the danger.

A burst of fire shot upwards from below.

The Ya'an Theatre is on fire again.

at the same time.

Floor-to-ceiling windows in the office.

The window that overlooked the entire town was now crawling with blood-stained bats.

They were hanging upside down on the glass.

Bloodshot eyes stared at the person inside the glass.

Even through the window, Scarlett could smell the stench emanating from the bats.

She hated these dark creatures.

Just looking at it gives me goosebumps.

Mo Ting, Zhe Ke, Holst, and Chi Ye protected Scarlett in the middle.

Ashley and Brian drew their guns.

Tyron narrowed his eyes, his hands clenched into fists at his sides.

Seeing this, Riley shoved a gun into his hand.

Tyron looked at him.

Riley said, "No rush."

Murgard looked at the bat, ignoring his excessive blood loss, braced himself on his elbows, crawled under the table to hide, and didn't forget to use a folder to cover his face before doing so.

You can't see me.

You can't see me.

There were two groups of bats; one group hung on the glass window, while the other group violently rammed against the glass.

Powerful.

The bulletproof glass made a loud banging sound when it was hit.

Mo Ting reached behind his back and grabbed Scarlett's wrist, trying to comfort her and tell her not to be afraid.

They rushed towards nothing, finding nothing behind them.

He turned around and looked.

Scarlett led everyone to open the office door.

Seeing him looking over, he quickly waved, "What are you standing there for? Run!"

Mo Ting: "..."

at this time.

The glass shattered with a loud bang, and all the bats flew in.

"Mo Ting, remember to bring Mo Jiade along!"

Scarlett left after saying that.
