Chapter 193 Scarlett Arrives

Annie pressed her face against the car window, staring intently inside for a full ten seconds without blinking.

Her large, round, bright eyes shone unusually, and in the darkness, they exuded a ghostly aura, inexplicably reminding Scarlett of the "I will always watch you" meme.

She awkwardly got off Mo Ting, sat up straight, and looked like a model student listening attentively in class.

……

……

Anne left Freyja Manor with Scarlett.

The estate owner relented and agreed to let Anne and Harrison marry. Harrison then pressed his advantage, expressing his love and hoping to prepare for the wedding with Anne.

He spoke with deep emotion, while Murgard kept stirring things up, increasing Fu Li's leverage.

After much pleading and cajoling, the estate owner finally relented and agreed to let Annie stay with Harrison for a month.

Anne was worried that Mennie would be punished by the master because of her, so she took Mennie away with her.

They temporarily left Flü Manor.

A black sedan was parked in front of the Jiajia Theater.

As soon as Scarlett got out of the car, Murgard followed closely behind, coldly calling out to her, "Where are my things?"

Scarlett turned around, smiled slightly, and took out the pills she had prepared in her pocket and handed them over.

Mergard eagerly took it in his hand, examined it closely, but dared not eat it, his brow furrowed, unsure of what to do.

Scarlett said with a half-smile, "Take the black one during the day and the white one at night. Take them for seven days in a row, and the poison will be neutralized."

"Really?" Mergard asked uncertainly.

Scarlett smiled and said, "Believe it or not, it's up to you."

She turned and went into the Jiajia Theater.

Holst and Dzeko walked at the back, locking the doors as soon as they entered the theater, not giving Mergard a chance to follow.

Murgard and Harrison stood outside.

Harrison saw that Murgard was still standing there, staring at the pills in his hand, showing no intention of leaving, and tentatively asked, "Great-Grandpa, shall we go?"

Murgard glanced at him, steeled his resolve, gritted his teeth, and swallowed the white pill.

For an instant.

He felt a slightly bitter coolness rise from his stomach, rushing to his limbs and bones, shattering his chaotic thoughts and making his mind incredibly clear.

He exclaimed "Hey!", stretched his limbs, and a smile gradually appeared on his stiff lips. "This medicine is great. I feel full of energy now, and I could run two laps around Langton Street without any problem."

Harrison chimed in, "That's good. It proves the medicine is real, and Scarlett didn't lie to you."

Murgard grunted in agreement, glancing sideways at the Jiajia Theater, now dark and closed. "Little brat, she wouldn't dare lie to me! Come on, let's go home. I'm so sorry you had to go through all that trouble today, kneeling and making a scene. I promise, in seven days, I'll make them pay double!"

Annie didn't get off the bus.

She left Flüe Manor under Harrison's name, and to avoid suspicion, she had to stay at Harrison's house.

Harrison arranged a maid's room for Menie.

A brand new bedroom was arranged for Anne.

When entering the room.

Anne, with her hands behind her back and gripping a pistol, said warily, "I like to sleep alone."

Harrison glanced at her, said nothing, went into the room, lifted the blanket beside the bed, and a small door was revealed underneath.

Harrison opened the door and went inside, about five minutes later.

Another person appeared.

Annie exclaimed with delight, "Cousin!"

Harrison's home is not far from Lanxi Street.

Digging an underground tunnel is not difficult.

Anne can use this passage to visit Scarlett at any time.

……

……

Scarlett converted the basement of the Jiajia Theater into staff quarters.

Anne's husbands all live here.

When they saw Anne appear before them unharmed, they were overjoyed. After bowing, they rushed to Anne, asking her all at once how she was doing and whether she was injured.

Anne answered them one by one.

It had been so long since they last met that tears welled up in her eyes. She had been trying to stay strong and not cry, but she held them back.

Little did she know that her beastly husband would burst into tears as he asked her questions, his sobs rising and falling, growing louder and louder. Overwhelmed by the atmosphere of their long-awaited reunion and the joy of their tears, she could no longer hold back her own tears and hugged them, crying along with them.

The nine people cried for almost half an hour before they stopped.

Turn off the lights.

Lying in bed.

They chatted for a while longer, until weariness and exhaustion overwhelmed them, and then they slowly fell asleep.

When she opened her eyes again, it was broad daylight. After washing up, Annie went to find Scarlett immediately.

The house on Dock Street was an old building; after an entire wall was blown away, it became dilapidated and drafty.

Scarlett hired a professional renovation team to fix it.

She then lived with her beast husband at the Jiajia Theater.

It's spacious here, and there are many people, so there's no need to worry about accidents happening.

Today is Monday.

Scarlett is holding a staff meeting in the conference room.

When Anne arrived, the conference was almost over.

People walked out in twos and threes, pondering Scarlett's words as they prepared to open for business.

Annie poked her head halfway through the crack in the door and called out mischievously, "Cousin?"

Inside the meeting room, nine pairs of eyes turned to look at us simultaneously.

Annie paused for a moment, her heart skipped a beat, and she hurriedly greeted them: "Hello, brothers-in-law of the eldest, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth sisters."

The eight people nodded slightly. "Greetings, Princess Anne."

Anne was glad that Scarlett was sitting there.

If it were her two older cousins, she would have spent the whole day greeting their husbands.

Scarlett smiled. "Come in."

Anne moved over and sat down next to Scarlett.

Her gaze swept around the conference table before returning to Scarlett. "Cousin, are you planning to keep this shop here until the mission is over?"

Scarlett glanced at the soundproofing device hanging on the door. "No, opening the shop is a cover. We'll gather more information, and once we find the twelve wanted criminals, we'll leave."

Anne nodded and quietly patted her chest.

She's not good at running a shop.

Fighting is still the most practical thing to do.

"Cousin, do you have any leads?" Annie continued to ask.

"Have."

Scarlett's mind flashed to Francis's face, her next target.

"By the way, Annie, have you received any notifications for the first mission on your screen these past few days?" Scarlett asked Annie, wanting to confirm.

Anne nodded. "Yes. My task progress is at the fourth level."

Having received definite information, Scarlett became even more determined about her next move.

Since this task is common and everyone can update their progress in real time, there is no competition.

Moreover, with this mission's reminder, others in the same mission space will be more proactive in dealing with wanted criminals.

This is a good thing.

It can unite everyone in their hatred of the enemy.

Even so, Scarlett did not let her guard down and continued to live each day with vigilance.

Anne joined in, and as planned, she and Harrison were inseparable, shopping and strolling together.

They looked just like a young couple deeply in love.

We just ended up in a deserted place.

Both of them were somewhat helpless.

Harrison said, "Miss Isabel, I have someone else in my heart, I'm sorry."

Anne also said, "Don't worry, I'm not interested in you."

The two breathed a sigh of relief and continued shopping.

Three days later, time flew by.

Murgard took the medicine Scarlett gave him for three days.

He was sleepy during the day and energetic at night. This reversal of his day and night, coupled with his advanced age, gradually led to a mental breakdown.

He didn't know if the problem was with him or with the medication.

Fourth day.

He took the medicine to see a doctor.

Instead of going to Francis, he went to another clinic.

There are many famous doctors on Langton Street; Francis is not the only one.

This also indirectly confirms that Mergard and Francis have no relation.

then.

night.

Scarlett brought Riley to the door.
