Chapter 173 The Third Party

When Harrison heard that Scarlett wanted to work with him, he was so surprised that he didn't know what to do with his hands. He hesitated for a long time and still didn't give an answer.

He was filled with fear of his great-grandfather.

If his great-grandfather found out that he was doing business with someone else, he would definitely kill him.

Scarlett noticed Harrison's unease and said, "It's okay, if you don't want to, I can find someone else."

"other people?"

Harrison asked her, "Who are you looking for?"

Scarlett: "Rachel, Iphne, Vivian, and Mantua are all fine."

"They'll work with you?" Harrison asked, puzzled.

"meeting."

Scarlett said earnestly, "I have what they want, and it's just a matter of equal exchange."

Scarlett's words sounded naive, but Harrison frowned upon hearing them.

He remembered Rachel wanting to buy a gun, gritted his teeth, and said, "Scarlett, how about this, can you give me some time to think about it? It's too sudden, I'm not prepared."

Harrison was not Scarlett's first choice; she chose him only because he was Murgard's great-grandson, which would allow her to better target Murgard's weaknesses.

He needed to think it over, and Scarlett gave him time to consider it as well.

She used this time to do other things.

Harrison had originally intended to speak with Scarlett, but Scarlett's interference made him forget his original purpose, and he drove away in a daze.

On the way back, Scarlett's words kept echoing in his mind.

It's not the kind of business statement you use.

Scarlett said that he would surpass his great-grandfather's achievements in the future.

He returned to his room, lay down on his bed, and picked up his mother's photo from the bedside table.

He stroked the photo with his fingers, slowly pulled it into his arms, and called out with longing in his eyes, "Mom."

……

……

in the afternoon.

Scarlett went to mine for ore again.

This time, I brought Dzeko.

She would be sharing a room with Zheke that night, and she wanted to build a relationship beforehand so they wouldn't feel too unfamiliar with each other.

pity.

Zheko was a taciturn man; every response he gave was just a word or two, making Scarlett feel like she was making a fool of herself, and she eventually lost interest in talking.

Concentrate on digging the hole.

As soon as the pit was dug, she jumped in, and without saying a word, Zheke followed suit.

Scarlett looked stunned as she held up the ore. "Why did you jump down?"

Zheko glanced upwards. "Someone's following us."

Scarlett nodded and moved closer to him. "I know."

The pit was about one meter wide, and the two people stood facing each other, not too far apart.

Perhaps because they were too close, Zheko was a little nervous and blinked a few times in a flustered manner. "Hmm."

Scarlett: “…”

Scarlett: "I've been followed for the past two days. At first, I thought it was Matthew from next door, but yesterday I saw that the color of his clothes was different from Matthew's, so it must be a third party."

"A third party?" Zheko frowned.

Scarlett analyzed, "If it were someone sent by Murgard, he wouldn't have been so surprised to see the lapis lazuli."

"Do you know who it is?" Zheko asked seriously, finally uttering a few more words.

Scarlett nodded with a look of relief, gripped the ore in her hand, and said, "Let's go find her now."

……

Scarlett arrived near Langton Street, at the same gem processing and recycling shop.

As she went inside, Scarlett glanced at the signboard.

Michelle Gem Processing and Recycling Shop.

It seems the boss's name is Michelle.

She led Zheko inside.

Michelle was sitting at the counter, her chin resting on her hand, staring idly at a dozing spot.

When people entered the shop, she didn't react much. She slowly yawned, not even bothering to lift her eyelids, and casually said, "Welcome, take a look at what you like."

Scarlett looked at each item on the glass display stand one by one, and finally walked to the counter, handing the ore in her hand to the boss, "Boss, I'm here to sell something."

Michelle raised her eyes, glanced at Scarlett calmly, and was about to let out a contemptuous sneer when she paused and looked at Scarlett again.

"It's you?"

She quickly turned her gaze to Scarlett's hands.

An irregularly shaped piece of jade.

It has a rich, pure green color, sparkling and shimmering, gentle and delicate, with high transparency and a pure texture, as clear as ice.

Michelle was immediately captivated by the jade. She reached out her hand, then hesitated, wiping her hands clean with a handkerchief before taking the jade from Scarlett's hand, exclaiming, "Oh my goodness, this jade is a rare and exquisite piece!"

Scarlett didn't give it to her. Instead, she gripped the jade tightly in her hand, preventing the shopkeeper from taking it. "Let's talk about money first."

Michelle quickly came out from behind the counter, intending to get closer to Scarlett, but when she turned around, she saw that Scarlett was with someone else. So she invited Scarlett to sit on the chair next to her to look at the jewelry, and then asked the person behind the counter to pour two cups of tea.

Soon, two cups of hot tea were brought over.

The male, dressed in coarse linen clothes, was placed squarely in front of Scarlett.

Scarlett glanced at his clothes.

The color is wrong, but the fabric is right.

She smiled calmly and asked, "Boss, how much do you think this piece of jade is worth?"

Scarlett spread her hands.

Michelle quickly took it, held it up to the natural light outside, took a deep breath, and then took out the special high-intensity lamp from her pocket and shone it on herself.

He took another deep breath, stuffed the jade stone and the flashlight into his pocket, grasped Scarlett's hand, and said excitedly, "Little sister, this jade of yours is a really good thing, it's just not very big, only enough to make two jade pendants. I know that jade stones are usually connected together, you must have more, right? Bring them over, and I'll give you a fair price."

Scarlett rolled her eyes, feigning guilt and an urgent need to cover up her mistake, and said, "That's all, just this one."

Michelle raised an eyebrow. "Really nothing?"

“No,” Scarlett replied without changing her answer.

Michelle knew Scarlett was tight-lipped and wouldn't get any information out of her, so she slammed her hand on the table and said generously, "Alright, I'll take this jade! I won't haggle with you, it's a flat price of 100,000 star coins."

Scarlett left.

Michelle immediately called out her staff.

She took out the jade, sniffed it, and narrowed her eyes like a venomous snake. "It's mud from Mount Pani. Go dig it up there."

The meek and obsequious waiter reminded him, "Boss, we dug yesterday too, but we didn't find anything."

Michelle glanced at him sideways. "One place?"

Waiter: "Yes."

Michelle looked at the jade in her hand, her brows furrowing thoughtfully. "That's strange. Does that mean only this girl can mine such a mineral?"

The waiter bowed and chimed in, "Boss, this girl is really strange. Why don't we go find Murgard? This girl seems to have a special relationship with her."

Michelle thought for a few seconds and then ordered, "Dig first, and we'll talk about it later if we don't find anything."

Nothing and no one has been able to escape from her grasp.
