Chapter 121 Magnetic Card
Inside the enormous underground laboratory, neatly arranged experimental equipment made of blue technology was displayed.

A cold, quiet silence.

Such a large laboratory, yet there was no one else there.

"Can I really come here to do experiments in the future?" Jiang Mian asked quietly.

Zhou Bai took a square magnetic card directly from the pocket of his white coat and handed it to Jiang Mian: "This is the access card."

Jiang Mian's eyes flickered, then she slowly reached out and took it, smiling slightly: "Thank you, Mr. Zhou."

With such a large laboratory, it's so much more convenient to do any reagents and experiments!
Zhou Bai adjusted his black-rimmed glasses, his gaze lingering on Jiang Mian for a moment before shifting away. He lowered his long, pale fingers and simply uttered two words: "It's nothing."

He turned around and continued walking forward, and Jiang Mian followed him.

"Mr. Zhou, this lab is so big, are you the only one here?" Jiang Mian couldn't help but ask when she saw the empty lab. "Aren't you going to hire any assistants?"

Zhou Bai simply replied, "No, I had an assistant before, but she went home to prepare for pregnancy and childbirth."

"Those two are pretty empty too," Jiang Mian said quietly.

"It's alright," Zhou Bai replied casually. "I don't like too many people."

Jiang Mian understood and said nothing more.

Zhou Bai quickly got into work mode and started preparing reagents.

Jiang Mian's role was to assist by running errands.

"Put this row of reagents in the A1 dish."

"Okay, Mr. Zhou."

"Put this experiment record in cabinet B."

"Okay, Mr. Zhou."

"Take this reagent to the scanner for testing, and bring the results to me later."

"Ok."

……

So, in such a large lab, the assistants are probably just there to run errands.

However, Zhou Bai didn't keep ordering her around all the time. He would just ask her to do some things every now and then. The rest of the time, Jiang Mian could use his medicinal herbs to make some reagents in his laboratory to pass the time.

Or you can go to the assistant's rest area and sit on the sofa to play with your personal computer.

For a while, Zhou Bai gave Jiang Mian frequent instructions, but later he stopped giving Jiang Mian many instructions and instead focused on making reagents. It seemed that he made them many times, discarding them when he was not satisfied, and then making them again.

Jiang Mian guessed what kind of experiment he was conducting simply by watching him do it.

The medicinal plants he used were all effective in alleviating the manic phase of orcs. Unlike the inhibitors on the market, he seemed to be working on developing an inhibitor with no side effects or a drug that could completely alleviate the manic phase.

However, it seems he has not succeeded so far, otherwise he wouldn't have poured out bottle after bottle of the potion.

Even so, Jiang Mian showed no sign of annoyance on his face, remaining serious and calm, even the speed at which he poured the medicine was very calm.

That person does have a very good temper. Some pharmacists get frustrated or irritable after failing multiple experiments.

Jiang Mian naturally had no idea that Zhou Bai's calm demeanor was entirely due to his long lifespan, which naturally made him less impetuous than he had been in his youth.

She was idly browsing her personal computer in the assistant's lounge.

At that moment, a message popped up.

Husband Baby: Transfer 50 million Star Coins over, I'm out of money.

Jiang Mian was slightly stunned when she saw the message. She didn't seem to have given the five orcs such a name.

Jiang Mian gave each of the beastmen a name based on their full names.

She clicked on it silently. It seems that even though she has inherited the original owner's personal computer for so long, she has not yet carefully looked at her personal computer contacts.

Jiang Mian clicked into the contact whose name was "Husband Baby" and glanced at the chat history. In an instant, the original owner's memories flooded into Jiang Mian's mind.

Jiang Mian's expression turned complicated for a moment.

She inherited the original owner's memories, but she didn't really want to look at them carefully. The original owner wasn't recognized and returned to the capital star. She was forced to live on a remote star and still fawn over a phoenix man. She even stole money from her poor adoptive parents to give to the phoenix man. The phoenix man used her money to climb up to a high-level healer. The original owner knew this, and knowing it was a third party, she was willing to be the phoenix man's backup.

Who knew that the man from humble beginnings looked down on her, an F-level healer, and only saw her as an ATM.

The original owner's character was indeed not very good, and she had done many evil deeds. Jiang Mian didn't want to list them all. She was really worried that one day the original owner's enemies might come knocking on her door and kill her.

Jiang Mian had no intention of replying to the message on the computer, so he quickly deleted and blocked it.

Outside the control panel, the personal computer on the table next to Zhou Bai suddenly lit up.

"Cough cough, the medicine is gone." Wen Juan's calm voice rang out from the personal terminal, succinctly stating four words.

Zhou Bai's gaze didn't even fall on the personal terminal; he continued to operate his reagents with fluid ease, simply saying, "Have your people come and pick them up."

"He's not here," Zhou Qing said slowly.

"I understand," Zhou Bai replied casually.

After those words were spoken, the light from the quantum computer went out.

The conversation between the two ended there. Zhou Bai prepared a reagent, put it into a nearby container, then took off the white sterile gloves he was wearing and left the lab to get a row of reagents.

He then went to the assistant's lounge and knocked on the door.

Jiang Mian paused for a moment, deleted the person, and then got up to open the door.

The door wasn't actually closed, but Zhou Bai still knocked.

"Mr. Zhou, is there anything I can do for you?" Jiang Mian looked up at Zhou Bai.

"Take these potions to the second floor, to the city lord's study..." Zhou Bai originally wanted to say his uncle, but quickly changed his mind, "to the second floor, to the city lord's study."

"Okay," Jiang Mian readily agreed.

After all, she was just an assistant who ran errands.

Jiang Mian quickly carried the row of medicines and left the underground laboratory, heading upstairs in the villa.

She had been to Zhou Qing's study before, so she naturally remembered it and walked to the study on the second floor as if she knew the way well.

Jiang Mian arrived outside the study and politely knocked on the door first.

But no one answered the door after knocking for a long time.

Jiang Mian was thinking that she could just push the door open and put the nutrient solution away.

Suddenly, a violent coughing sound came from next door.

"Cough cough...cough..." A series of violent coughs came from inside the next room.

When Jiang Mian heard this cough, she felt as if the other person was coughing up their lungs; it was even more violent than the cough she had heard last time.

She felt like she had met him twice, but each time he seemed to cough from time to time.

A simple cold and cough shouldn't last this long.
