Chapter 275 Lethargy
Jiang Lanye placed the vase on the table, making sure Song Yi would see it as soon as she woke up. He then added some water to the vase before climbing onto the dragon bed and pulling her into his arms.

He accidentally stepped on Song Yi's hair. Song Yi didn't wake up, but mumbled a couple of times, seemingly expressing her dissatisfaction with him.

Jiang Lanye quickly and carefully tidied her hair, then covered her with the blanket.

Early the next morning.

When Jiang Lanye woke up, Song Yi was still asleep.

She slept very soundly, and Jiang Lanye did not wake her. It wasn't until after she had reviewed several memorials that Song Yi slowly woke up.

She opened her eyes groggily, turned over, and looked somewhat bewildered.

Hearing the rustling sounds coming from the dragon bed, Jiang Lanye consciously put down the commemorative document, strode over, sat down beside the dragon bed, and picked her up.

"Have you had enough sleep?"

Song Yi leaned listlessly on Jiang Lanye's shoulder, noticed the lotus flowers on the table, and said in a low, hoarse voice, "These lotus flowers are really beautiful."

Jiang Lanye's lips curled up slightly.

Did you insert it?

His slight smile instantly froze on his face.

He released Song Yi, reached out and pinched her chin, his scrutinizing gaze falling on her face.

Do you know who picked these lotus flowers?

Song Yi looked at him blankly: "Huh? Wasn't it picked by the palace servants? Come to think of it, I don't remember this at all. I thought you did it while I was asleep so that I could see it as soon as I woke up?"

The goal was to guess correctly, but that was only based on Song Yi's understanding of him.

Jiang Lanye's eyes darkened: "These lotus flowers were picked by you and Xichun yesterday, don't you remember?"

Seeing Jiang Lanye's unusually serious expression, Song Yi gradually realized that something was wrong. She carefully recalled the events and found that most of her memories of yesterday were blank.

"I think I remember, but maybe I'm still half asleep and my mind isn't fully clear yet."

After saying that, she yawned, tears welling up in the corners of her eyes.

Noticing that Jiang Lanye was still staring at her, she found it amusing: "Alright, I must have really been sleeping too hard. I didn't remember anything from yesterday, but as soon as you mentioned it, I remembered everything."

"Really?"

"Ah."

"What were you wearing when you came back yesterday?"

"I wore a skirt with lotus flower patterns on the hem, and I dressed myself up nicely. My hair was half-down, draped over my left shoulder."

She gestured with her hands as she spoke.

Seeing that what she said made sense and that her eyes were clear, Jiang Lanye gradually felt relieved.

"You've really fallen asleep. Get up, wash up, and have breakfast with me."

Actually, Song Yi wanted to take another nap, but seeing that Jiang Lanye was a little worried, she didn't say it again.

During breakfast, Song Yi had a good appetite and even had the leisure to tease Jiang Lanye. When he wasn't paying attention, she put several pieces of meat into his bowl and forced him to eat them.

After they finished eating, Jiang Lanye took out a handkerchief to wipe Song Yi's lips and said in a low voice, "Don't go anywhere today. Stay with me and look at some memorials, okay?"

She nodded and lazily followed Jiang Lanye to sit on his dragon throne.

Sometimes Song Yi admired Jiang Lanye, who could read and understand memorials no matter the circumstances.

Jiang Lanye was worried that she would be bored, so he found her a book that she had started reading a couple of days ago and told her to continue reading.

Song Yi occasionally leaned on his shoulder, and sometimes snuggled her upper body into his arms. Finally, she managed to find a comfortable position and put her legs on Jiang Lanye's lap, using them as cushions under her knees. Her feet dangled in the air and swayed back and forth gently.

He stopped looking at Song Yi, because if he kept looking at her, his efficiency in reviewing memorials would be greatly reduced.

Song Yi picked up the book and started reading from the first page.

For a moment, the hall was unusually quiet. Only the rustling sound of Jiang Lanye writing and the turning of pages of Song Yi's book could be heard.

After an unknown amount of time, Song Yi folded a corner of the page she was currently reading and yawned.

"I remember the imperial physician saying that pregnant women are prone to drowsiness. I wasn't drowsy a couple of days ago, but it started today."

Jiang Lanye briefly looked away from the folded paper, and saw that her eyelids were trembling, but she was still trying to stay by her side. He found it amusing and reached out to scratch her chin.

"It's almost noon. If you're sleepy, go take a nap. I'll wake you up in half an hour."

"it is good."

She casually placed the book on Jiang Lanye's table, slowly walked to the dragon bed, and fell asleep soon after lying down.

It was a hot summer day, and even though there were two ice mirrors in the Cool Palace, Song Yi still felt sticky all over after waking up. There was a thin layer of sweat on his forehead, and a few strands of hair were stuck to it.

Before Jiang Lanye could call her, she woke up on her own, found a stool, sat down next to the ice chest, and casually picked up a fan to fan the white steam rising from the ice chest onto her face.

"Song Yi".

Jiang Lanye's voice, tinged with a warning, rang out. Song Yi put down her fan and quickly walked over.

"It's too hot."

"You just woke up; you're more likely to catch a cold if you do that."

She pouted, gesturing for Jiang Lanye to move aside, then found a sleeping position for herself and casually picked up a book from the table.

She turned back to the first page.

For some reason, she felt that the content was strangely familiar, as if she had seen similar stories before, so she read it very quickly, flipping through more than a dozen pages in a row, before she stopped.

The bottom right corner of the page was folded up.

This is her usual reading habit: when she gets to a page, she folds up a corner so she can easily turn to that page next time.

So, she has read this book.

"Jiang Lanye."

"Ok?"

She held up the book and pointed to that corner: "Did you fold this?"

Jiang Lanye glanced at Song Yi: "It's not me, it's just your habit."

She was a little puzzled: "I think so too, but I've read this book before?"

Upon hearing this, Jiang Lanye's heart plummeted, plunging into despair.

He moved the book away and placed it on the table, then cupped Song Yi's face in his hands: "This is the book you read while sitting next to me before your afternoon nap. Have you forgotten?"

Song Yi slapped his forehead: "That's right, I remember now."

She's acting so strangely today. Jiang Lanye frowned, reached out and touched her head, his voice gentle: "Yiyi, are you feeling unwell?"

"No, I just feel really sleepy today, maybe it's because I didn't sleep well?"

Looking into her bright eyes, Jiang Lanye seemed to be deep in thought. "Do you still want to sleep now? Shall I stay with you?"

Song Yi smiled and said, "Then I want to sleep in your arms."

"it is good."

He pulled Song Yi into his arms, adjusted her position, and let her sit on his lap with her head resting on his shoulder.

Jiang Lanye's palms were warm, and he gently patted her back.

Song Yi clutched the hem of his dragon robe with one hand, frowned slightly, and quickly fell asleep again.
