Chapter 263 Getting Lazier and Lazier

She took out several books and placed them on the table. Then, she looked up and glanced at them casually, noticing that a book she was very interested in was placed on top of it, probably left behind by a palace servant.

After thinking it over, she moved a stool, stood on it, and reached for the book.

When Jiang Lanye returned, he found that Song Yi was not in the hall. His heart clenched suddenly, and he took a deep breath. Then he realized that she should be in the study, so he strode over there.

Sure enough, as soon as he walked in, he saw Song Yi getting off the stool. She was quite cautious, holding onto the bookshelf and lifting her skirt as she got off to avoid tripping.

"Who told you to stand on the stool yourself?"

When his voice rang out, Song Yi was startled and turned to look at him: "It's just a stool."

Jiang Lanye frowned. "Come here."

Song Yi was still holding the book she had just taken down when she heard this and obediently walked up to him.

Why aren't you combing your hair?

"I'll comb your hair when you get back."

Jiang Lanye nodded, took the book from her arms, and quickly flipped through it for a while as if checking something.

"You can read this book, but some of the scenes are described in a gory and terrifying way. If you are scared, don't read it."

Seeing that he started nagging as soon as he returned, Song Yi snatched the book back and pointed to the books on the table behind her: "There are many more. If I get scared, I'll have you read them to me."

Jiang Lanye was very satisfied with this answer, and a casual smile appeared on his lips: "Alright, put the book down first, I'll comb your hair."

Song Yi put her back down, opened her arms, and gestured for Jiang Lanye to carry her over.

Jiang Lanye moved his lips, somewhat helplessly: "You're being lazy again. It's only a few steps."

Song Yi glared at him and was about to leave: "If you don't want to hug me, then forget it."

Jiang Lanye grabbed her wrist and pulled her back with a little force.

Before Song Yi could even stand up straight, she felt a lightness in her body as he lifted her up in his arms.

"Did I say I wouldn't carry you anymore?" He lowered his head and nibbled on her earlobe, carrying her towards the dressing table. "You're so spoiled, you're even too lazy to walk."

Song Yi triumphantly wrapped her arms around his neck, "I'm pregnant now, you have to pamper me."

"I didn't spoil you before? Now you've found yourself a perfectly legitimate reason."

Song Yi pouted, "Then put me down."

“No.” He said succinctly, “I spoiled him, and I tolerate it.”

Song Yi sat down at the dressing table and watched Jiang Lanye pick up a comb and carefully comb her hair for a long time. When he saw the knots at the end, he didn't get impatient at all. He grabbed her hair and carefully combed it for a long time, asking Song Yi if it hurt.

Song Yi said lazily, "I didn't want to keep my hair this long before because I thought it would be too much trouble to manage. Now it's great, I don't have to manage it at all."

Jiang Lanye found her dependence quite agreeable. If he were to disappear one day, Song Yi might go mad just like him.

"My precious Yi Yi."

"what happened?"

"Should we go to the summer palace to escape the heat in a few days?"

Song Yi's eyes lit up.

Jiang Lanye looked at her in the bronze mirror and couldn't help but reach out and gently stroke the corner of her eye: "Your eyes are really beautiful. They light up whenever you think of something happy."

"I have to go, I absolutely have to go. Guess what I'm thinking about?"

Jiang Lanye looked down at her, his fingers casually pinching her earlobe.

He thought for a moment before saying, "You thought of the swing standing by the pond. It's very high and swings a lot, so you like it very much."

Song Yi exclaimed "Oh dear!" and laughed with a heart full of spring fever: "You really know me."

Jiang Lanye smiled faintly, but his words were like a bucket of cold water being poured on him: "No."

"Why?" "You're pregnant, that swing isn't safe."

Song Yi simply turned her head and glared at him.

"How come I remember someone saying before that the rope was very strong and would never break? How come it's not safe now?"

Jiang Lanye stroked her hair: "You'll scare the child."

"Don't lie to me, the baby is only so small at this age."

She held up two fingers to indicate.

Jiang Lanye grabbed her hand directly: "You're scared even by such a small thing."

The two stopped arguing about the issue. Breakfast was brought in, and Song Yi was about to stand up and walk over when Jiang Lanye, as if on purpose, picked her up again.

After setting her down, Jiang Lanye looked at her teasingly: "Are you satisfied now?"

Song Yi deliberately said, "So-so. You hugged me too hard, it hurt."

"So delicate?"

"Of course, I'm very delicate from head to toe, so you'd better be careful when you touch me."

After saying that, Song Yi couldn't help but laugh out loud.

Jiang Lanye picked up her bowl, ladled out bird's nest porridge for her, placed it in front of her, and said gently, "Eat more."

Song Yi frowned slightly.

She knew that some pregnant women were prone to vomiting, and she felt that she belonged to that category, so she didn't have much of an appetite for bird's nest.

Seeing that she didn't move, Jiang Lanye asked in a low voice, "Not to your liking? I'll have the imperial kitchen redo it."

She raised her hand to stop her, saying, "No need. I feel like even if you put the most delicious food in front of me, I wouldn't be able to eat it."

Jiang Lanye frowned, pulled Song Yi onto his lap, and picked up the bird's nest soup: "Eat some, I'll feed you."

Song Yi sighed softly, "Then I'll force myself to eat a little."

After saying that, she opened her mouth.

Unexpectedly, not long after, just as Jiang Lanye was about to put a silver thread roll on her plate, Song Yi pushed him away. Jiang Lanye was startled, let go of her, and watched as she hurriedly went over and vomited.

This displeased Jiang Lanye, who strode to the door and opened it.

Eunuch Cao hurriedly asked, "Your Majesty, what's wrong?"

"Summon all the imperial physicians from the Imperial Medical Academy to me."

".yes."

He was startled and, without Jiang Lanye urging him, immediately ran towards the Imperial Hospital.

Jiang Lanye went over to help Song Yi up, wiped her lips, and asked in a low voice, "Are you still feeling unwell?"

Song Yi nodded, looking listless. Her voice was a little hoarse from vomiting: "I really don't want to eat."

Jiang Lanye frowned, helped her sit down, and then walked to the door. A little eunuch quickly came up to her.

"Go and summon the head eunuch of the Imperial Kitchen to me."

".yes."

Song Yi rinsed her mouth with tea, and by the time she came to her senses, a huge crowd had already gathered outside the Golden Palace.

She choked, staring at Jiang Lanye in disbelief: "What are you doing?"

Jiang Lanye's expression was not good: "You're not feeling well, I'll have them come and take a look."

Song Yi: "No, I just have normal morning sickness, right?"
