Chapter 313

Deputy Commander Lin's request was actually to use Yun Jiao's connections with fish to help with the search and rescue operation at sea.

This typhoon came too suddenly. Our current detection equipment isn't advanced enough. We didn't detect yesterday's typhoon. The island suffered heavy losses. Not only were many buildings destroyed, but some villagers were also swept away by the typhoon and waves.

Including their comrades who went to provide rescue, they estimated that some villages along the riverbank had also been affected.

We should save them if we can, even if they are corpses; if we find them, we should take them back.

"So, please."

Even when facing a small child, Deputy Commander Lin was very serious when making this request.

Yun Jiao nodded: "Anyway, I was looking for someone anyway."

"Thank you."

Deputy Regiment Commander Lin saluted her.

Yun Jiao smiled, her eyes crinkling.

She ate something and then asked to go into the sea.

Although the sea has calmed down now, Deputy Commander Lin can't help but worry about Yun Jiao, who is so young.

Yun Jiao patted her chest, her small face full of confidence.

"I'm a great swimmer; I can hold my breath underwater for half an hour."

Upon hearing this, Deputy Regiment Commander Lin and the others widened their eyes.

Half an hour!!!

Their troops stationed on the island are close to the sea, so they naturally have to learn to swim and dive. Everyone has to practice holding their breath underwater, but the longest they can do is about ten minutes.

Half an hour? I can't even imagine it.

But the little guy didn't seem to be lying.

"And I still have them."

Yun Jiao stood at the bow of the boat and blew her whistle.

Soon, everyone witnessed a shocking scene.

Several humpback whales slowly surfaced, surrounded by orcas and pink and gray dolphins.

Yun Jiao turned around and waved to them: "I'll take them to get something to eat first, then I'll come back to find you. Goodbye, Uncle Lin."

After saying that, she turned her back to the sea and fell down, jumping into the ocean.

The people on the boat all gathered around the side of the boat to look down.

After a while, a humpback whale slowly swam out from under the boat. When it surfaced, everyone could clearly see the tiny person standing on the whale's head.

She turned around, and just then a ray of sunlight pierced through the clouds and fell on her, bathing her delicate but beautiful eyes in a warm golden light. Despite her small size, she seemed to possess an inexplicable divine quality.

It wasn't until Yun Jiao had swum far away with the fish that the group on the boat realized what had happened.

"Deputy Commander Lin, is she really a human being?"

Deputy Regiment Commander Lin gazed into the distance: "Never mind that, but this kid has a kind heart."

He said with a smile, "Go and eat something to replenish your energy. They've already helped us, so we can't hold them back."

"Yes!"

Yun Jiao brought along humpback whales, killer whales, and dolphins, and even invited whale sharks and manta rays to join them on their hunt.

They set their sights on a sizable school of sardines.

These ocean predators were already seasoned hunters; without Yun Jiao needing to say anything, they quickly cooperated to encircle the sardine school.

Humpback whales work together, exhaling bubbles that spiral around and gather the fish, aided by the sound waves of killer whales and dolphins, while Yun Jiao stands outside the fish and sings in support.

Once the massive school of sardines gathers together, the humpback whale opens its mouth like a giant fishing net, directly catching a group of sardines.

Orcas and dolphins rushed up and began to feast.

Although it was the first time the three groups had cooperated in hunting, the results were outstanding.

The abundance of sardines in this area attracted many other predators from the ocean.

Even many seabirds in the sky were attracted.

Yun Jiao casually grabbed a sizable tuna. Although it was a yellowfin tuna, it could still fetch a good price. As she watched the fish eat on the surface of the sea not far away, a dark shadow suddenly descended from the sky, accompanied by the sound of flapping wings.

Yun Jiao turned her head and met the gaze of a silly bird whose claws were grabbing her tuna.

Yun Jiao: What a damn fate.

"Hey, you silly bird, you've gotten bold. I used to steal your fish, and now you want to steal mine?"

She raised an eyebrow and started teasing.

She rolled her eyes at the silly bird, clearly annoyed.

"Are you sure you can take this fish with you? Are you blind or just too good-looking? Why are you always trying to catch those big things?"

The familiar eagle tried to lift its talons, but found it couldn't lift it at all.

It flapped its wings, stood on the fish, tilted its head, and preened its feathers.

When people feel awkward, they often do things to make themselves appear busy.

The same goes for this eagle.

Yun Jiao shook the tuna she was holding, and the eagle on top of it shook as well. She quickly spread her wings to steady herself.

Yun Jiao's eyes darted around, and she warmly greeted the Shanghai eagle.

"Come on, you can't have this big fish, but there are other options."

She pointed to the school of sardines over there.

"I'll go find you something you can eat."

The sardines are too small; I reckon the eagles wouldn't even look at them.

Don't let its silly appearance fool you, this eagle has been incredibly lucky.

This can be seen from the fact that it can grow to such a large size, with its glossy feathers, and that it is always seen holding a huge fish whenever you encounter it.

So tiny sardines are simply not worth its attention.

As Yun Jiao moved, the eagle spread its wings and took flight.

However, it didn't leave; it hovered in the sky.

This eagle is one of Yun Jiao's most familiar birds.

Yun Jiao dived into the sea and circled around before surfacing with a rather large filefish in her hand.

"This one is for you."

Yun Jiao whistled and waved the fish in her hand.

The eagle flew down and grabbed the fish, but Yun Jiao didn't let go.

A seven- or eight-pound eagle stood steadily on her hand.

The eagle tilted its body slightly, then tilted its head to look at Yun Jiao, seemingly wondering why she wouldn't let go.

Yun Jiao put the tuna aside and took the opportunity to pat the big bird's head.

"Since you ate my food, you should at least do me a favor."

The eagle cried out twice, then lowered its head and pecked at the fish, tearing off a piece of flesh with its sharp, hooked beak.

It started eating without any hesitation.

They look really hungry.

Yun Jiao was still bargaining with it: "If you eat this, can you help me find someone at sea? I'll catch fish for you next time we meet, okay?"

Although Yun Jiaoren was floating in the sea, she held the sea eagle steadily with one hand.

This guy simply used her hand as a resting wooden stake, and instead of using his claws to press down and tear the food, he just ate it directly and thoroughly.

"Did you hear that? Otherwise, I'll just steal your fish next time we meet."

After threatening the eagle, Yun Jiao's conversation with the bird became less smooth, and she could only vaguely sense its emotions.

This eagle is quite intelligent.

There is absolutely no communication with the others.
