Chapter 67 The Siege of Justice

"Yes, it's you. It's you!"

Ang Lee completely broke down and screamed in terror, but a man's voice sounded high-pitched at that moment.

He recognized the clothes and the person simply because he recognized them.

This was the man he personally killed, even cutting off an arm to serve as 'food' for his daughter who had become a goddess.

"Impossible, how could this be? You, you've come for revenge! Wife, wife, let's run! Old, uh..."

Ang Lee's worldview nearly collapsed, and in a panic, he shook his wife behind him, trying to pull her away.

But when the phone's light shone on him, Ang Lee's expression froze, and he could only make hoarse "uh uh" sounds, unable to utter any more words.

Because behind him, the woman lying on the bed against the wall had become a corpse.

The body was stiff and cold, with dark purple lividity patches on the skin, making it look like someone who had been dead for several days, even though this person had just spoken.

What Ang Lee found most terrifying was that the woman's eyes were bloodshot, wide open, and she died with her eyes wide open, unable to close them in peace.

On that otherwise pretty face, the mouth had been brutally torn apart, the corners of the mouth ripped open all the way to the ears, forming a horrifying and bloody smile. Blood flowed from the mouth, staining the chin.

She is dead.

Ang Lee felt completely drained, and even breathing was difficult.

His phone slipped from his hand, and the light shone down onto the bed, plunging him back into the darkness of despair.

In the darkness, the cold and stench were even stronger. Li An's eyes were lifeless, and the corners of his mouth began to uncontrollably turn up and tear, all the way to his ears.

boom.

He collapsed, lifeless, a horrifying smile forming from the tearing of his lips.

The rotting female corpse's only eye, filled with madness, stared at the two corpses on the bed. Her body faded again and disappeared into thin air once more.

But soon, the female corpse appeared in another house, with more than a dozen empty wine bottles lying on the ground and a drunk bachelor lying on the sofa.

This man is the village butcher, and one of the people responsible for preying on passing travelers in recent years.

But at this moment, his lips were torn apart by an invisible force, his heart stopped beating, and he died quietly in his drunken dream with a ferocious smile on his face. It was hard to say whether it was a stroke of luck or a tragedy.

The female corpse disappeared into thin air again, only to reappear in other places, repeating the same process.

On that desperate night, the stench of blood in the village grew stronger.

Not everyone is killed by a vengeful ghost in their sleep; screams occasionally echo through the village, but they quickly cease.

Some people, awakened by the screams, would go out to check, but soon, several more corpses would appear on the village's dirt roads.

Normally it would take more than twenty minutes to descend the mountain, but after running a few steps, Wang Liang worried that their descent speed would not keep up with the speed at which the vengeful ghost killed people. So he immediately incorporated Sadako's supernatural power into various parts of his body, adding supernatural strength to speed up their descent.

Those villagers died, so be it. Just like Zhou Kun said, it's gratifying that they died.

But Wang Liang was worried about what would happen to the Slit-Mouthed Woman after everyone in the village died.

Judging from her actions just now, the Slit-Mouthed Woman is clearly engaging in selective killing, at least for the time being.

The Slit-Mouthed Woman, apart from killing Wang Liang who had been forcibly lured there by the Ghost Bell, gave up on killing anyone else, including Zhou Kun who was attacking her.

As soon as Wang Liang died, the Slit-Mouthed Woman left through the Ghost Realm and went to the village to kill people, but she did not kill the hunchbacked old man who was also a villager.

This clearly doesn't conform to the typical behavior of vengeful ghosts who kill according to a set pattern. It seems more like a revenge with a strong purpose and a priority order.

This is perhaps one of the special features of movie ghosts; it seems that the location of their descent was not chosen randomly.

The film ghost that descended upon this place has developed a deep connection with it, and the key to this is Li Lengmei.

So, after slaughtering the entire village below that caused Li Lengmei pain and resentment, will the Slit-Mouthed Woman undergo any unknown changes, or will she leave this place to wander?

Wang Liang didn't know, but whatever the case, it wasn't what he wanted to see.

“I’ll go down first. You guys don’t go into the village. Keep an eye on this hunchbacked old man outside. If everyone in the village dies, he might become the last bait,” Wang Liang said.

"Alright!" Zhou Kun immediately replied. Wang Liang, amplified by his superhuman strength, unleashed a speed exceeding human limits, rapidly running down the mountain.

He's been monitoring the situation in the village, and at his current speed, he should be able to get there before the Slit-Mouthed Woman finishes killing everyone in the village.

The reason we didn't use an alternative reboot to get there was because we didn't have any coffin nails; going there would have been suicide.

"Let me go, let me go! I didn't kill you, I didn't kill you!"

On the dirt road in the village, a disheveled man sat down on the ground, shuffling his buttocks backward in terror, as if some monster was about to devour him.

Ahead of him, in the dim moonlight, a figure staggered out from the darkness beneath a roadside tree.

It was a female corpse that was highly decomposed and missing an arm.

"Yes, it's Old Zhao, Zhao Laosi, that pig butcher. He's the one who led the arrest of you. I know his house. Don't kill me, I'll take you to his house, uh uh."

Before the man could finish speaking, a strange smile suddenly appeared on his terrified face. His lips ripped open and split open, blood gushing out.

thump.

The man's body fell to the ground, stiffened, and he fell silent instantly.

After killing the villager, the rotting female corpse prepared to fade away again, hide in the ghost realm, and head to her next target.

The village, which had dozens of households, had already been mostly wiped out by it.

But just then, a clear, ethereal bell rang out from ahead, and the fading motion of the rotting female corpse stopped.

The ghost-summoning effect was triggered, and the rotting female corpse solidified again, reappearing in reality.

At the intersection ahead, a man in a black overcoat appeared with a cold expression, gently shaking a rusty copper bell in his hand, while black blood gushed from beneath his feet.

One after another, pale and hideous arms emerged from the black blood, and female ghosts invaded reality in this way, guarding the indifferent man in the middle.

Moreover, the rustling sound of footsteps came from all directions along the dirt road.

Pale, bare feet trod on the withered grass, and more white-clad female ghosts with disheveled black hair emerged slowly from the weeds on both sides, exuding a chilling aura.

His arms hung at his sides, the veins on the back of his hands were black, and his eyes, occasionally peeking out from between his black hair that obscured his face, were full of resentment and ferocity.

Black ink stained the tattered white dress, and black blood dripped from the hem, leaving streaks of black blood behind her, exuding a chilling aura.

Before and after the intersection, on both sides of the road, in the weeds, on the path, and even on the rooftops, there are countless derivative Sadako figures twisting their joints, walking out or crawling out in various postures.

There are more than fifty of them in all directions, completely surrounding this dirt road.

In the center stands a rotting female corpse that was pulled into reality by the ghost bell.

This is a supernatural siege.

I've written quite a bit about the Slit-Mouthed Woman's story; there are already 17 chapters including today. I'll be able to imprison and control her tomorrow.

As a complete novice writer, I lacked experience and went astray in the beginning, leaning too much towards traditional supernatural themes. If I were to rewrite it now, I could condense chapters 50-55 into one and a half chapters.

The exploration didn't need so many chapters; it's pointless without the ghosts, it just seems like too much setup, and it doesn't really serve its purpose, which has caused controversy.

Quickly mark the chapters, then skip ahead. After a normal chapter and a half, then torture Lightmy, oh, torture the messenger, and then directly confront the Slit-Mouthed Woman. Doesn't that seem less drawn out?

Sigh, or2.

——
In addition to the satisfying moments of fighting ghosts and reaping rewards, I also particularly enjoy describing the environment and atmosphere, as well as the expressions of passersby. There's quite a bit of space dedicated to these descriptions, and I personally love using this kind of indirect emotional value to provide the satisfying moments.

Although some people might find this rambling, especially those who are following the story closely, haha, I don't want to give up on this part. I think some people like this kind of thing too; isn't it all about creating a scary atmosphere? Haha.

As for the protagonist's initial failure in the first wave of confrontation, well, it would be a bit strange if he were completely invincible and suppressed the enemy in one fell swoop. Then another group of people would be criticizing me, or2.
A reader commented yesterday that I found very insightful: "If a gun appears in a story, it will definitely fire," and the same applies to reboot.

Anyway, there's no way we can let the Slit-Mouthed Jurchen escape. Calm down, calm down.

Of course, all the problems can actually be boiled down to one thing: it's too short.
But it's still in the recommendation phase, only in the third round. I don't know when it will be officially released. Sigh, feel free to criticize, it's the criticism I deserve.
