Chapter 274 The Real Jade
The palace doors closed, and everything returned to the way it was before Wang Liang went in.

Wang Liang stood outside the palace gate with a frown, pondering what the old man had just said.

This giant Buddha, or rather the ghost temple, possesses the characteristic of being impossible to imprison; he indeed has no good way to deal with the supernatural phenomena within the hall.

After going in and out, it eventually returned to its original state, making it very difficult to truly resolve.

But the trip was not in vain; at least he obtained a lot of information and finally figured out who his real target was.

Wang Liang decisively turned and left the main hall, not wanting to linger there. He circled around to the back of the main hall to find the well the old man had mentioned.

This vengeful ghost was difficult to deal with, so he had to put it aside for the time being, but he had not forgotten the true purpose of his trip.

He wasn't really there to solve paranormal problems for the island nation. Whether the temple could solve the imprisonment issue was unimportant; what mattered was that he had to get rid of the ghost in the well.

Following a path strewn with pebbles along the side of the main hall, Wang Liang arrived at an area behind the main hall.

He spotted his target right there.

In the courtyard he arrived at, a thin mist drifted around, sometimes condensing into blurry human figures, but quickly dissipating into wisps of mist that wriggled eerily at the edge of his vision, as if they might completely solidify at any moment.

Scattered withered leaves lay on the ground, along with a few dead trees of varying thickness, creating a desolate and hazy scene.

Under a rather thick, withered tree in the center, there sat an old well, the very well Wang Liang was looking for, the one that gave him a special feeling after encountering a vengeful ghost or supernatural being.

The well walls were covered with dark green moss in the cracks between the blue bricks, making them damp and giving off an unsettling, cold, and sticky feeling.

The well was covered with a large, flat, golden cap, which seemed to be used as a well cover to seal the well.

Perhaps because the person who brought the manhole cover did not know the width of the ghost well before arriving, the gold manhole cover that was made was large enough, even exceeding the size of the well opening, completely blocking it.

But the golden well cover was useless. Wisps of mist still seeped out through the cracks in the blue bricks of the well wall, drifting through the temple and the mountain. It was indeed a bit far-fetched to think that a golden cover could seal a well.

However, what made Wang Liang frown slightly was that there was an extremely obese person sitting on top of the golden manhole cover, or rather, a person piled up on it.

It had so much flesh on its body that from a distance it looked like a half-rotten mountain of flesh piled up on a well, with the well cover firmly pressed under the fat.

Moreover, this person was not a stone statue, but a dead corpse.

On his obese face, all that remained of his eyes were dark, bloodshot holes, with two lines of dried black blood flowing below his eye sockets.

The eyes were completely gouged out, seemingly in an attempt to prevent the statue from petrifying it. It seems to have worked, as it ultimately did not become a statue.

The half-rotten body was so obese that it was almost deformed, wearing only a yellowed and moldy sumo loincloth around its waist, which was almost half-sunken under the loose fat.

His skin was deathly pale, with faint bluish-gray bruises beneath it, and the fat was twitching slightly, as if something was hidden under the fat.

After reviewing the information provided by Mishima, Wang Liang recognized the person who had not been turned into a stone statue.

He was the previous generation of Jade from the island nation, the leader and last member of that elite demon tamer team, and he died here.

Scattered around were fragments of stones left after the statues were destroyed. It seemed that this Jade-level Ghost Tamer intended to use the corpse of a resurrected vengeful ghost to destroy the nearby statues and suppress the well.

Even though the vengeful spirit possessed a ghostly domain according to the records, it didn't have the ability to actively wander outwards until its killing patterns were triggered and it was lured away. So, Yu died here, probably hoping to seal off the courtyard with its vengeful spirit after death, and even gouged out its eyes to prevent petrification.

In terms of effect, the golden lid covering the well opening damages the nearby stone statues, preventing them from flowing out of the well, so it seems to have some effect.

However, the fog from the well was not completely sealed off, and the outside water would still be damp and muddy. What truly helped to seal off the ghost temple and the ghost well was the profound heritage of those two island nations.

The well was right in front of them. According to the old man, they had to go inside the well to imprison the evil spirit inside.

Wang Liang stepped into the courtyard, his feet landing on the scattered dead leaves, but he couldn't hear the expected cracking sound of the leaves.

Each withered leaf was pressed firmly against the ground, as if held down by some unseen hand.

As Wang Liang approached, he could already smell the strong stench of decay emanating from the sumo wrestler's corpse.

And just as he got within about ten meters, it seemed that he entered the killing range of the vengeful ghost and triggered its killing pattern.

The sumo wrestler demon in the well moved; its fat, rotting body trembled, and it slipped off the well cover, crashing heavily to the ground.

The corpse wriggled and stood up. Its height and width were comparable to the giant Buddha in the dream, making Wang Liang look like a dwarf in its presence.

Wang Liang raised the blood-stained bone spear in his hand expressionlessly, but after thinking for a moment, he put it down and leaned on the ground.

The chilling aura emanating from the sumo wrestler intensified, and his half-rotten, fatty flesh swayed and quickly shrank considerably.

Instead, a visible yellow gas emanated from the fat on the corpse, so dense that it formed an eerie yellow halo that quickly dispersed the surrounding mist and pressed down on Wang Liang.

Having read the information provided by Mishima and learned about the vengeful spirit of this jade, Wang Liang knew that this yellow gas was formed from fat and had the effect of controlling a ghostly realm.

Although it is essentially a gas, it is so dense that it forms an eerie halo, making it much more effective than the ghostly mist or other ghostly domains.

Furthermore, once inside, inhaling the gas will immediately cause the body to become obese and swollen, until it bursts from being stretched by body fat.

The slit-mouthed woman's tall, cold body materialized before Wang Liang, appearing solid from a shadowy form. Though less than the slightly shriveled mountain of flesh a few meters away, her chilling aura was far greater.

The yellow halo, carrying gas, bypassed the area within four or five meters of Wang Liang and the Slit-Mouthed Woman, circling around them, but it couldn't penetrate them at all.

Wang Liang controlled the Slit-Mouthed Woman's invisible ghost domain to spread outwards, enveloping the entire courtyard.

The yellow halo and gas vanished instantly, and the Slit-Mouthed Woman appeared in front of the Mountain of Flesh in the invisible demonic realm. She raised her hand, not to grab the almost nonexistent neck, but to choke the Sumo Demon's right hand.

The Sumo Demon's right hand had no fat, but rather bulging, bluish-black muscles, and his five finger joints were abnormally large.

Before being choked by the Slit-Mouthed Woman, it would occasionally twitch slightly, as if it were not completely controlled by the Sumo Demon, but rather manipulated by another being.

But after being choked by the Slit-Mouthed Woman, it became still. This is the second ghost in this jade.

The Slit-Mouthed Woman's suppressive supernatural influence caused the Sumo Demon's body to stiffen noticeably.

Some of the fat was still trembling slightly, but it could no longer release gas, and the shadows underfoot were also distorted, exuding a chilling aura.
