Chapter 350 Past
After the divine thought completely dissipated, a figure appeared out of nowhere, as if traversing endless time and space, crossing the long river of history.

The moment he truly appeared, all the light in the world paled in comparison; he was the only light, illuminating all ages.

Clearly, this is an ancient Buddha, a seeker of enlightenment from before the age of mythology.

The ancient Buddha sighed softly, "My failure to ascend to immortality has caused countless beings to become wronged souls, and has also led to the extinction of the true Dharma in the human world. I am filled with resentment, and my obsession is hard to let go of..."

This soft sigh trembled the heavens and earth, and theoretically should have been able to shake people's hearts. But the two people present at this moment were, one was an avatar specially created by the Celestial Venerable of Morality, incorporating the essence of the Bodhi Ancient Tree, and the other was a Dharma body formed by the Celestial Venerable of Limitless Limit using source techniques and divine thoughts. Although their power was not strong, their realms were too profound.

Let alone a deity who has rediscovered their true self and briefly regained their peak Dao attainment, even if this ancient Buddha were to truly resurrect, they would be no match for them. Therefore, Liang Yu and the Moral Celestial Venerable remained unchanged, completely unaffected.

After lamenting his own predicament, the ancient Buddha looked at Liang Yu and the Moral Celestial Venerable, and was immediately shocked. He looked at them in disbelief and said, "You are avatars? Then what are your true forms... How is that possible? You are clearly not enlightened beings of this world, and you have not severed your own ties, yet you can still exist in this world?"

The Celestial Venerable said, "Fellow Daoist, you have excellent eyesight. May I ask your name?"

Liang Yu was slightly surprised. These ancient Buddhist practitioners seemed to have a higher level of cultivation than ordinary practitioners, as he had sensed their extraordinary abilities at first glance. Of course, this could be due to their special supernatural powers. After all, although most of the Buddhist teachings had been lost, Liang Yu still had some understanding of them.

Sensing the decay of this small world and the fact that Buddhism no longer existed in this star field, the ancient Buddha withdrew his divine light, revealing a compassionate Buddha image.

With a sorrowful expression, he said, "Fellow Daoists, you may simply call me 'Come Over.' I thank you both for your help in freeing these wronged souls from suffering and also freeing me from this torment."

When faced with these two highly accomplished individuals, he chose to follow local customs and addressed them as "fellow Daoists."

Liang Yu said, "Although I have a rough idea of what you went through, I still want to know the details."

The Celestial Venerable of Morality nodded slightly upon hearing this.

He said in the past, "There is nothing wrong with this matter. It's just that I have a deep-seated obsession. My two fellow Daoists are unfathomable. Could you please give me some pointers?"

Liang Yu said, "I guess you want to ask about becoming an immortal?"

He nodded and said, "Please, fellow Daoists, clear up my doubts."

Liang Yu said, "I guess what you want to know most is whether those paths to immortality can lead to the Immortal Realm. The vast majority of paths to immortality are not wrong, but without strength far exceeding that of ordinary Dao Proving Persons, there is absolutely no chance of entering them."

“There are a very few paths to immortality that only appear once every few million years, and anyone who can prove their Dao in this era can enter them; there is another path to immortality that truly connects to the immortal realm, but it also only appears once every few million years, and there is a limit to the number of people who can enter it.”

He said, "I see. Then it seems we took the first path. The life force of both of you is extremely long, and your cultivation far exceeds my imagination. I wonder if you two have other methods to become immortals?"

The Celestial Venerable then informed him of the four paths that were already in their nascent stages: Celestial Immortal, Earthly Immortal, Corpse-Dissolving Immortal, and Mortal Immortal.

He let out another long breath and said, "Becoming an immortal is so difficult! I once reversed my life with the help of faith, and that was already the limit of my strength. I never imagined that you two fellow Daoists could undergo so many transformations. Perhaps you two are also figures like the Desolate Heavenly Emperor."

Liang Yu said, "Fellow Daoist, it is now your turn to clear up our doubts."

He let out another long sigh, filled with melancholy and sorrow. He suppressed his thoughts and began to recount his past.

In his era, the Desolate Heavenly Emperor had become a legend known only to a very few. Even the Heavenly Court he left behind had long since vanished. Therefore, he knew almost nothing about the Desolate Heavenly Emperor except for his name, his identity as the Lord of the Desolate Tower, and the fact that he had established a Heavenly Court. Of course, there was also his seemingly ascension to immortality. Although Buddhism at that time had already produced more than one enlightened being, they did not actually belong to Buddhism; rather, they formed their own sect, maintaining a distant and ambiguous relationship with Buddhism.

Therefore, there were several supreme array patterns in the Buddhist holy site of Qibao Ridge at that time, but only one supreme divine weapon. This was because he was the only enlightened being from the Buddhist sect who regarded Buddhism as his faith.

Of course, while others may not fully endorse Buddhism, they have still made significant contributions to its development. Therefore, through countless years of accumulation, Buddhism has become increasingly prosperous.

They gathered countless forces of faith and, with the help of countless supreme array patterns, transformed Qibao Ridge, this sacred Buddhist site, into a treasure ship for ferrying people across the world. They also fostered a positive cycle between countless believers and this treasure ship, making it increasingly solid and subtly imbued with the meaning of immortality.

Their ultimate goal, of course, is to ride this precious ship of salvation to escape the sea of suffering in the human world, ascend to immortality with their entire religion, and reach the other shore.

And the person who ultimately completed this plan and put it into official use was the one who did so. Because he was closest to the opening of the path to immortality.

Especially after using the power of faith to complete a Nirvana, he lived until the opening of the path to immortality. However, by then he was already in his later years and nearing the end of his life.

Therefore, when the path to immortality opened, the former led those believers and, with the blessing of faith, launched an attack on the path to immortality.

The result was, of course, a tremendous tragedy. He could never reach the end of this path to immortality, while his followers were killed or wounded in wave after wave of attacks.

In the end, he returned to the mortal realm, dragging his battered body and carrying the treasure ship. He was already old, and now he had suffered such a fundamental injury; it was a testament to his profound cultivation that he did not die immediately.

Even the ancient Bodhi tree, which had been rooted here for a long time, suffered a severe blow and had no choice but to undergo nirvana, transforming into a seed and disappearing into the depths of the universe.

Therefore, he only had time to leave behind some methods to repair the treasure ship before he passed away.

He now naturally knows that the path to immortality he encountered was not the correct one, and it was almost impossible to open it.

As he lay dying, he knew he was plagued by inner demons and had received countless blessings from faith, making it highly likely that he would develop divine thoughts. Therefore, before his death, he left behind a divine power, using his treasured artifact of enlightenment, the green lamp, to suppress his divine thoughts.

His failure to achieve immortality is one reason; the deaths of countless beings are another; the extinction of all core members and the resulting decline of Buddhism are the third. With these three factors in place, his obsession will undoubtedly be incredibly deep, and his divine will will be even stronger.

Of course, the reason he was able to foresee the birth of his divine thoughts was because he possessed Buddhist supernatural powers such as the divine eye and the divine ear, thus he was able to foresee the birth of his divine thoughts and leave behind various arrangements.

Unexpectedly, after being suppressed, this divine thought, in order not to be erased, actively gathered the resentment of those beings who died while attempting to ascend to immortality onto itself. Although this caused it to lose its mind and become a mad monster, it did indeed withstand the refinement of the Green Lamp.

After all, since all living beings believe in the divine power to create immortality, their resentment is naturally extraordinary.

In the years that followed, Buddhism completely disappeared into the annals of history, and the treasure ship was finally pieced back together, restoring Qibaoling to its former glory as a famous mountain and a sacred place for spiritual practice.

Of course, with subsequent events and the passage of time, the seal began to crumble, and some of the divine aura began to leak out. As a result, this ancient star began to be increasingly affected and its morals declined.

But now, both the divine thought and the green lamp have reached their end and are about to perish completely. Fortunately, they encountered Liang Yu and the Moral Celestial Venerable at the last moment, which can be considered a satisfactory ending.
