Investiture of the Gods: I am Bigan, the Master of Conspiracy
Chapter 202 The Three Realms are shocked, and the Buddhist sect is frantically devising a countermea
Laozi could not step forward to clear the names of the three demons, because doing so would incite the Heavenly Court to commit perjury, and it would be tantamount to directly representing Taoism in a contest with Buddhism. Clearing their names would shake the foundation of Buddhism.
Journey to the West itself is a major force influencing faith, and Buddhism must also stand on the high ground. However, Journey to the West is now attracting attention from all sides of the Three Realms.
The act of simply clearing one's name can have a series of consequences.
Because the three demons have indeed committed acts of destroying Buddhism, if Laozi were to clear their name, it would mean that he would approve of the three demons' destruction of Buddhism, and Laozi would be unable to manifest his power.
However, Heaven cannot fabricate evidence for such a trivial matter; if Heaven does so, then the matter becomes serious.
It can be said that the three demons swore an oath to the death, stirring up the winds and clouds of the three realms, and even the Heavenly Dao and the sages had to make a choice.
After all, it was during a great calamity, and hastily killing them was unrealistic. After all, everyone in the Jie Sect was waiting. Sun Wukong didn't want to think about that, and secretly urging Sun Wukong to kill would arouse his suspicion.
In other words, when the combat strength of both sides is roughly equal, the possibility of underhanded operations is eliminated.
Therefore, Sun Wukong watched the three demons cause trouble with a smug look on his face. The three demons also successfully prayed to Laozi step by step, and finally had no choice but to swear an oath with their lives.
The heavy snow that fell from the heavens, like goose feathers, quickly blanketed the entire Kingdom of Chechi in a silvery white.
The pure white snowflakes piled up on the eaves of palaces and temples, adorning the originally colorful buildings like jade palaces, and the bluestone slabs on the streets were deeply buried by the snow, as if they were covered with a thick white velvet carpet.
Even the usually bustling market was now shrouded in the sudden heavy snow, appearing unusually quiet, with only the sound of snowflakes falling softly echoing in the air.
Sun Wukong's eyes widened, his face filled with shock. He never imagined that the three demons' oath to the death would actually bring about such a strange phenomenon.
At this moment, Sun Wukong was shocked. Was it his fault that he had forced the three to their deaths?
The Heavenly Court has already shown them the proof, so why is this happening? Which celestial being is behind this?
Or is it a monster using magic to deceive the people of Chechi Kingdom?
At this time, Sun Wukong could not understand the concept of the Heavenly Way.
Enraged, Sun Wukong suddenly looked up and roared at the sky, "Which snow god is it? Come down with me, Old Sun!"
Sun Wukong's voice boomed like rolling thunder in the snow, but only the howling wind and swirling snowflakes answered him; no deity dared to step forward and respond.
Sun Wukong was so angry that his hair stood on end. He gripped his golden cudgel tightly in his hand and looked around with his fiery eyes, trying to find out who was causing the snowfall.
In the Tushita Palace of Heaven, Laozi gazed solemnly in the direction of Chechi Kingdom.
"What a brilliant plan! It has forced me to make a choice. This monkey caused havoc in the Heavenly Palace and overturned the statue of the Dao Ancestor, but it has put me in this predicament."
Laozi shook his head helplessly. The root of everything was playing tricks on Sun Wukong, which led to the need to constantly pile up lies in order to advance the Journey to the West.
Even though the three demons and the people of Chechi Kingdom had worshipped the Three Pure Ones for twenty years, wanting Laozi to clear their names would trigger a cataclysmic event with far too great consequences.
At this point, the more you do, the more mistakes you make; doing nothing makes no mistakes.
Meanwhile, at Mount Ling in the Western Paradise, the Buddha was also shocked by the immense power unleashed by these three minor demons.
A rare hint of solemnity appeared on that usually aloof face.
The Journey to the West plan, which was originally under his control, underwent a huge change due to the deaths of these three minor demons. The Buddhist sect's previous characterization of the three demons has now been completely overturned by the Heavenly Dao, which is undoubtedly a heavy blow to the prestige of Buddhism.
At this moment, the Holy Mother of Golden Spirit and the Fairy of Dark Clouds were talking.
Golden Spirit Mother shook her head slightly, her eyes filled with emotion: "These three people are loyal and righteous. In order to prove their innocence, they dared to sacrifice their own lives to fight for that sliver of hope. Such courage and spirit should be recognized as disciples of my Jie Sect."
Wu Yunxian nodded in agreement: "Master Sister is wise. This time, they risked their lives to prove their innocence to the Heavenly Dao, and there is hope for them to be conferred as gods. Otherwise, the Buddhist sect would never allow these three demons to live after their act of destroying Buddhism. If we insist on saving their lives, we will only be fighting the Buddhist sect prematurely, which will not bring us any benefit. Although we will die, our reputation will surely be passed down through the ages. After this conferment of gods, we can let them join our Jie Sect during the next great calamity."
The Holy Mother Jinling sighed softly: "Ziyu, you have a good plan. In this matter of Chechi Kingdom, none of us from the Jie Sect participated, yet you cleverly made this calamity bring immense karmic consequences to the Human Sect, the Chan Sect, and Buddhism. These three parties will probably all be plunged into chaos because of these three little demons."
At this moment, the might of Heaven descended upon the borders of Chechi Kingdom, and all parties in the Three Realms immediately paid attention to this matter, and all parties understood the ins and outs.
Three monsters in a small country are insignificant; even if the entire Chechi Kingdom were wiped out, it wouldn't matter.
However, the Kingdom of Chechi was given an important significance: the destruction of Buddhism by three demons.
The Buddhist sect originally intended to have Sun Wukong fight and kill the three demons to destroy the Buddha, but Sun Wukong became suspicious because of the events in Wuji Kingdom. His investigation into the truth led him to construct new lies.
It can be said that if it were anyone else, an ordinary Great Luo Golden Immortal, upon arriving in Chechi Kingdom, they would have swept through it without regard for right or wrong. Since they were going to destroy Buddhism, they would have simply destroyed them.
However, the person who came was Sun Wukong, who in a sense saved the Kingdom of Chechi.
This gave the three demons of Chechi Kingdom the opportunity to manipulate the Heavenly Dao with their Xuanxian powers, and the chance to gain a decisive advantage over Heaven. Otherwise, how could the living beings of this land have the right to bargain with the Heavenly Court or even the Buddhist sect?
Because Sun Wukong brought about a judgment of justice, it led to the creation of lies, making Sun Wukong feel that he was righteous.
It can be said that one wrong step leads to another, and all of this stems from the removal of Sun Wukong's original essence, which makes things increasingly passive from then on.
After all, they are people sent down by Heaven to face calamity, and we cannot force them to act according to their will.
Zhen Yuanzi stood in the Wuzhuang Temple, gazing in the direction of Chechi Kingdom. He stroked his beard and said solemnly, "These three demons swore an oath with their lives, which actually garnered a response from Heaven. It is truly astonishing. This oath tightly binds their own life and death to the justice of Heaven. What a clever scheme! The Supreme Lord cannot clear their name, but as Ziyu said, faith is ultimately controlled by believers. It is best not to enter into this cause and effect! However, these three little demons have pushed Buddhism to the brink of extinction. They have truly outmaneuvered Heaven."
Regarding the affairs of Chechi Kingdom, people at different levels have their own perspectives.
What Zhen Yuanzi saw was that these three demons had worshipped the Three Pure Ones for twenty years, forming a karmic connection. Now, the three demons were destroying Buddhism, but they asked the Three Pure Ones to clear their names, ultimately creating a situation where they were being manipulated by believers.
Imagine a person suffering a great injustice, and the gods they have worshipped for decades do not come to their aid. People will be disappointed, but if the gods do come to their aid, they will fall into an even greater predicament.
Isn't this just being coerced by believers?
The second point that Yin Ziyu once expounded on in his discussion of Taoism at Wuzhuang Temple has been verified here. Even Laozi (the Supreme Lord Lao) could suffer from it, so what about others?
However, when Laozi could not clear their names, the three demons actually swore an oath to Heaven, risking their lives. This was the highest level of self-proof.
The snow that fell in June, suddenly in the height of summer, was a concrete confirmation of the injustice done to him by the Heavenly Dao. This was undoubtedly a complete denial of the Heavenly Court's investigation results and the Buddhist sect's characterization, and it also exposed the dereliction of duty by the Heavenly Court system.
This incident caused a great deal of trouble for Laozi, the Supreme Lord. Even the Heavenly Dao responded, but no one in Heaven spoke up for him. This matter immediately caused a stir in the Three Realms.
The Styx Ancestor let out a sinister laugh from within the sea of blood: "Heh heh, the Buddhist sect is going to have a headache. These three little demons have transformed themselves into unjustly martyrs certified by Heaven, turning the righteous path of the Journey to the West, which was all about subduing demons and monsters, into a laughingstock. Heh, interesting, interesting. This path of faith has also brought undeserved calamity upon the Supreme One. Fortunately, my Asura Realm is considered the purest of faiths. The faith of sentient beings is better off without it."
Kunpeng sighed from the Northern Abyss, "The Heavenly Court has lost face this time. The truth of the Wandering Spirit Official has been proven false by the Heavenly Dao, and from now on, the Heavenly Court is inextricably linked to the matter. Those three little demons have worshipped the Three Pure Ones for many years, yet Laozi has not responded to their appeals. Alas, it's best not to have faith. Even Laozi is swayed by it. These three demons of Chechi Kingdom, after destroying Buddhism, seek survival by promoting Taoism. They are indeed audacious, actually stirring up the cause and effect of conflict between Buddhism and Taoism. Ziyu is right. The path of faith may seem glamorous, but once faith collapses, those gods who rely on the incense and vows of believers to maintain their existence may face the danger of perish, completely controlled by believers. How pathetic that dignified immortals and gods have to put their own safety in the hands of a mortal's thought! But was the matter of Chechi Kingdom orchestrated by Ziyu?"
The master's perspective focuses on faith itself; he doesn't care about the life or death of the three little demons, or even the survival of the people of Chechi Kingdom. What he cares about is the magnitude of the impact.
Justice and evil exist only at the level of ants, but at this quasi-saint level, there are new standards of judgment.
The events in Chechi Kingdom began in Wuji Kingdom. None of the people in the Great Calamity could have predicted such an evolution. The three demons, who had been worshipping for twenty years, suffered such a backlash because they could not respond. Isn't that alarming?
Regardless of the cause or the outcome, Laozi was indeed swayed by ants. He enjoyed the faith for twenty years, only to be swayed and suffer such a great backlash. This is what makes many great gods ponder.
In other words, originally karma should not affect you, but if you experience karma, then karma will actually affect you. Although you are not required to make offerings, external voices will judge you.
Kunpeng now suspects whether this is a deliberate attempt to involve Taishang in this cause and effect.
In fact, Yin Ziyu did not participate. It was the three demons who took the initiative to destroy Buddhism and promote Taoism, attempting to seek the protection of the Three Pure Ones. Although the three demons did cultivate Taoism, their actions were indeed driven by the desire to save their lives.
It was understandable that Laozi did not clear his name, but he suffered some backlash for it.
The Queen Mother of the West frowned slightly: "Could these three demons be pawns of Ziyu? These three demons used their lives as a chess piece to win against Heaven by half a move, which exceeded everyone's expectations. They are somewhat similar to Ziyu's methods. However, the three demons' plan to destroy Buddhism and promote Taoism is too obvious. If so, I'm afraid they will give others a handle to use against them. How could the Supreme Lord let this go so easily!"
The fact that Buddhism fabricated a lie for Wukong to kill the three demons and deter those in the Three Realms who dared to destroy Buddhism is known to all parties. It's nothing special. Now, everyone is wondering if Yin Ziyu orchestrated this scheme and whether he will use it to further expand the matter in the future.
In an instant, all eyes turned to Sun Wukong.
Because everyone knows that everything in Chechi Kingdom was caused by Sun Wukong, and without Sun Wukong, this situation would not have occurred.
How will Sun Wukong stir up trouble in Chechi Kingdom?
Upon seeing the sudden death of the three national advisors, the King of Chechi Kingdom's eyes widened instantly, his legs went weak, and he knelt down with a thud.
The queen's face was ashen, her delicate body swaying precariously before collapsing to the side. The two embraced and wept bitterly, their cries echoing through the snow-covered landscape.
The king and queen had genuine feelings for these three royal advisors.
As the saying goes, sincerity begets sincerity. In the original Journey to the West, after Sun Wukong killed the three demons, the king and queen also cried bitterly for a whole day.
From morning till night, the Journey to the West hasn't changed much; the final result is still death.
Sun Wukong, annoyed by the three kings' wailing, said, "What are you crying for? Perhaps some demons deliberately sent snow to bewitch you. How can you be so confused! They are mountain beasts who came here specifically to harm you, but they dared not act because their fortunes are still strong. If your fortunes had declined in two years, they would have taken your life and taken your entire kingdom. Fortunately, we, Old Sun, arrived early, eliminated the demons, and saved your life. What are you still crying for? What are you crying for! You ungrateful kings, quickly give us your travel permits and leave."
The king, tears streaming down his face, glared at Tang Sanzang and his disciples with a mixture of grief and indignation, and roared hoarsely, "Why did you monks force the National Preceptor to his death! They have devoted themselves to the good of my Chechi Kingdom. In recent years, the weather has been favorable and the people have lived in peace and prosperity. Isn't all of this thanks to the National Preceptor!"
The Queen also wept uncontrollably, lamenting, "The Imperial Preceptor has been incredibly kind to us, and he has devoted himself wholeheartedly to the country and its people. The moment you arrived, you accused them of bringing drought, and now you've driven them to their deaths to prove their innocence. How can you be so heartless! Now that snow has fallen in June, what do you have to say? The Imperial Preceptor is dead, and you still want to tarnish his reputation? Since you have so slandered the Imperial Preceptor, we will not give you the travel permit."
When Tang Sanzang heard that the king refused to issue a travel permit, he panicked and immediately said, "Your Majesty, we are not slandering you; we are acting entirely out of kindness!"
The king pointed to the heavy snowfall and said, "Monk, tell me, why is it snowing so heavily? And what do you know about the affairs of Chechi Kingdom?"
"This"
Tang Sanzang was speechless for a moment.
The king immediately said, "I will tell you what happened in Chechi Kingdom twenty years ago!"
"Thirty years ago, without any warning, a large number of monks suddenly flooded into the Kingdom of Wuji. These monks seemed to be quite wealthy, and they began to buy up land on a large scale, with temples springing up one after another in our country. From then on, they had fierce conflicts with the Taoist sects in our country. At that time, I was still the Crown Prince, and I witnessed these foreign monks colluding with some unscrupulous local monks in order to gain a foothold in the Kingdom of Chechi. They worked together and used any means necessary to drive away all the Taoists."
"Twenty-three years ago, a severe drought suddenly struck the entire country. The scorching sun beat down on the earth, rivers dried up, and crops failed completely. But what about those monks? Faced with such a natural disaster, they were utterly helpless and unable to solve the problem of rainfall. Not only that, their actions were even more outrageous! Those monks secretly harbored bandits, causing bandits to run rampant throughout the country and wreak havoc on all sides. The bandits wantonly burned, killed, and looted, and the people suffered unspeakably."
"Due to war and famine, the country's finances were depleted, and it was difficult to even raise enough food and pay to maintain the soldiers. The order of Chechi Kingdom completely collapsed, plunging into endless chaos. At its worst, cannibalism became commonplace. The people lost their humanity, farming by day and stealing by night. A bushel of rice cost 40,000 coins, while human flesh became a cheap food. The price of a young girl was less than a quarter of the price of rice. The entire country fell into an infernal hell and was on the verge of destruction."
"At this critical moment of life and death, the three national teachers descended. Upon their arrival, they used their great supernatural powers to first send down sweet rain, alleviating the drought and bringing a glimmer of hope to the Kingdom of Chechi. But why did the extermination of monks occur later? It was because those monks and bandits were essentially one and the same. If these monks were not eliminated, the bandits would never be eradicated, the people would never have peace, and the order of the country could not be restored."
"For the next twenty years, the three national teachers devoted themselves tirelessly, traveling far and wide to eradicate all bandits and execute those wicked monks. Afterwards, they built the Sanqing Temple, guiding the people to wholeheartedly pursue Taoism, advocating a life of purity and few desires, and rebuilding the ethics of Chechi Kingdom. Only then did Chechi Kingdom gradually recover to its current prosperity." "And you monks, completely ignorant of our nation's past suffering, arrived in Chechi Kingdom and clamored to kill the national teachers. Even if the national teachers were monsters, so what? Where were you when Chechi Kingdom was reduced to a living hell? Now, you have killed the national teachers. Tell me, what will become of Chechi Kingdom in the future?"
Upon hearing this, Tang Sanzang was stunned, his face filled with disbelief: "Impossible, impossible! A monk devoted to Buddhism would never do such a thing, absolutely not!"
Sun Wukong paused for a moment after hearing this, but at this moment he still felt that even if there was chaos, it was caused by these three monsters.
At this moment, Sun Wukong also realized a cruel problem: if the story of Chechi Kingdom was true, then what was the point of this journey to the West?
And what became of his righteous journey westward, slaying demons and monsters?
Even though what the king said was true, Sun Wukong couldn't believe it was true.
In fact, if Sun Wukong had traveled westward to the Kingdom of Extinction, he would have believed it to be true, because the events that happened in the Kingdom of Wuji, the Kingdom of Chechi, and the Kingdom of Extinction were exactly the same, only differing in severity.
The destruction of France in the West was similar; monks kept bandits in their homes, leading to widespread poverty and destitution. Survival overwhelmed ethics, and violence replaced civilization.
Monks have money and need a sense of security, so harboring bandits is the best way to achieve this, thus creating a cycle.
However, this conflicted with the national order, resulting in many emperors suppressing Buddhism, including three in the Journey to the West alone.
Sun Wukong didn't understand this principle, nor could he believe it was true; he had to find out the truth of the matter.
"Alright, alright, alright, I, Old Sun, will find out the truth for you right away! Who exactly is causing the snowfall! What exactly happened in Chechi Kingdom? I, Old Sun, will now have the Heavenly Court investigate this matter for you."
At this moment, Sun Wukong was unaware of the seriousness of the matter. He immediately somersaulted straight to the Heavenly Court to investigate the snowfall and was determined to get to the bottom of the Chechi Kingdom incident. At this point, Sun Wukong did not believe that the three demons were acting on their own whims; he only thought that someone was secretly causing the snowfall and that he could find out who it was.
Sun Wukong also couldn't believe that he had forced three benevolent demons to their deaths.
On the solemn and majestic Ling Mountain, the atmosphere was heavy as lead.
The deaths of the three demons and the oath to Heaven that caused snow to fall in June represent the most pressing crisis for Buddhism.
Guanyin Bodhisattva hurried over and bowed to the Buddha. With a worried expression, she said, "Buddha, Wukong is now determined to find out the truth. This matter has attracted the attention of the Three Realms. If we let him continue to investigate, there is a risk of the collapse of the world's fortune. What should we do?"
The ancient Buddha Dipankara sighed softly and chanted a Buddhist prayer: "Amitabha, Heaven sent down snow to prove the injustice done to the three demons. It is not easy to cover it up again. I am to blame for this matter and should not have let Li Jing get involved."
The Buddha also sighed deeply, his expression calm but unable to hide the worry in his eyes, and said, "Ancient Buddha, there is no need to blame yourself so much. This is due to the root cause. Someone deliberately plotted to wait for us to tire ourselves out and put us in this situation."
Guanyin Bodhisattva, with a solemn expression and deep worry in her eyes, once again advised the Buddha: "Buddha, the most urgent task is to do everything in our power to stop Wukong from investigating the truth. This matter has already stirred up a great wave in the Three Realms, and all eyes are on Wukong's investigation. If it is handled improperly, the fortune of Buddhism may be lost, and the consequences will be unimaginable."
The truth is clear to all the great beings, but this is the one thing that Sun Wukong must not find out.
If Sun Wukong confirms that what the king said is true, and the monks of Wuji Kingdom and Chechi Kingdom caused the collapse of two mortal kingdoms, then how can the Journey to the West continue?
This would create aversion to Buddhism among those destined for calamity, so how would it be passed on to the people of the East in the future?
Simply put, these things are irrelevant to those at the top; justice and evil are meaningless to the upper-level cultivators, but they must emphasize to all living beings that we are righteous.
All those who spread the scriptures must first have a fundamental piety. If the truth is discovered by Sun Wukong, it will bring about a cataclysmic loss of humanity to all beings in the Three Realms.
Therefore, the Buddhist community must handle this matter properly.
The Buddha narrowed his eyes slightly, his gaze deep and unfathomable. He nodded gently and said in a deep voice, "What the Bodhisattva said is absolutely right. Remember, do not make a big fuss, lest the situation escalate further. Be sure to handle the aftermath properly."
At this moment, Manjushri Bodhisattva clasped his hands together and said solemnly, “Buddha, now that these three demons are dead, Heaven has used the falling snow to atone for their crimes. This seems to prove that their actions in destroying Buddhism were not unjustified but justified. However, this is a crucial time in the Journey to the West. If we cannot find a way to resolve this matter, the fortunes of Buddhism will surely suffer. At this time, the King of Chechi is refusing to grant Tang Sanzang a travel permit. This is no easy task. Given Wukong's character, he will probably investigate thoroughly. We must act quickly and resolve this matter as soon as possible, otherwise our fortunes will be in jeopardy.”
For a moment, the heights of Mount Ling were so still that one could almost hear the sound of snowflakes falling from the heavens.
The snow falling from the heavens weighed down on the Buddhas, each flake carrying a thousand pounds of weight.
Although the Journey to the West is the inevitable course of Heaven, Heaven cannot fabricate evidence because of this matter.
Guanyin Bodhisattva's heart stirred, and she asked, "Buddha, was the whole affair of Chechi Kingdom the work of Ziyu? But neither Ziyu nor the Jie Sect has been seen to be directly involved in the affair of Chechi Kingdom."
The Buddha nodded slightly and said, "The matter between Wuji Kingdom and Chechi Kingdom is inherently causally related. Some people are simply taking advantage of the situation. With just a little guidance and instruction, those three demons can achieve this situation, wait for the opportune moment, and reap the benefits."
After listening, Guanyin Bodhisattva nodded and said, "The three demons' destruction of the Buddha was their own doing, but they swore an oath to die and asked the Supreme Lord to clear their name. Clearly, someone was pushing them. Now that Heaven has sent down heavy snow to prove the three demons' innocence, we must not give false testimony again, otherwise the consequences will be endless. Fortunately, the death of these three demons was only to refute Wukong, but the king's words made Wukong waver."
For a time, everyone in Lingshan was troubled by this matter.
Now all the problems stem from Sun Wukong. He has truly reaped what he sowed, and only now does he realize how foolish his initial choice was.
However, if we hadn't made that choice back then, how could we have given up such great benefits?
Regardless, both choices have their own advantages and disadvantages. If you let them be foolish, you'll constantly have to clean up their messes. If you let them grow smoothly, they'll inevitably think about making progress and weighing the pros and cons, and you'll also get to take away greater benefits.
Of course, we shouldn't think that it would be better to let Wukong grow up normally just because we suffered from Wukong's stupidity.
After all, a primordial god-demon who is born into the Great Luo realm has such a strong foundation that even Buddhism cannot make him serve them; this is a fact.
Samantabhadra Bodhisattva said, "The best course of action now is if Wukong can get the King of Chechi to stamp the travel permit and not pursue the matter any further. However, I fear that if Wukong investigates the cause, it may cause instability in the fortunes of our Buddhist sect."
Guanyin sighed: "What's worse, this matter will cause all parties in the Three Realms to deny the future path of faith. Three little demons actually caused Laozi to suffer an undeserved disaster. If the destruction of Buddhism in Chechi Kingdom ends like this, it will also damage the prestige of our Buddhist sect."
The current predicament is such that even though the gods and immortals of the Three Realms know the truth, they won't speak recklessly. Even Yin Ziyu's side won't pursue the matter. The biggest problem is that Sun Wukong's pursuit of the truth will cause even greater turmoil in the Three Realms.
Manjushri immediately said solemnly, "No matter what, the matter of Chechi Kingdom has attracted the attention of Heaven. We must minimize the damage, just like with Wuji Kingdom. It may cause a minor loss of prestige, but it is not advisable to deal with it in a big way. The Heavenly Court's Supervision Department also needs to be dealt with. We must not let it lead to Li Jing."
Dipankara Buddha's eyes flashed, and he slowly said, "Buddha, Wukong cannot be allowed to live any longer. The troubles Wukong has caused have already placed a huge burden on Mount Ling. If this continues, we fear we will repeat the mistakes of the Chan Sect during the Investiture of the Gods. Today we rack our brains to cover up one thing, and tomorrow we are overwhelmed with worry about covering up another. Although we may have temporary peace, the troubles brought by Wukong will soon return. We must make plans as soon as possible and sever this karmic connection."
Randeng truly lives up to his reputation as a wise man of Lingshan, and he is also worthy of having competed with Yin Ziyu several times.
This ever-increasing burden must be cut off immediately, and there must be no more sunk costs. Otherwise, Buddhism will inevitably be burdened with enormous karmic consequences and struggle to move forward. In the future, there may be even greater karmic consequences that Sun Wukong will trigger.
The current situation in Chechi Kingdom alone has already put Buddhism at risk of collapse, reaching a point where it is a matter of life and death for Buddhism.
No one expected that these three demons would force Buddhism to this point. It seems like a coincidence, or perhaps someone was pushing things along. But no matter what, we must now get through this ordeal.
This ordeal was many times more difficult than that of the Kingdom of Wuji.
At this point, for the sake of the Journey to the West plan and the future of the entire group, a decision had to be made.
The Buddha Tathagata, with his piercing gaze, looked at the Ancient Buddha Dipankara and asked, "Ancient Buddha, do you have a brilliant plan?"
The ancient Buddha Dipankara said solemnly, "This humble monk found the Six-Eared Macaque before, and this is the opportunity to resolve this matter!"
Upon hearing this, Buddha was taken aback: "The Six-Eared Macaque? He was one of the Four Chaotic Monkeys, and the Six-Eared Macaque was once said by the Daoist Ancestor that the Dharma should not be passed on to six ears? I never thought that the ancient Buddha would find him."
After listening, Ran Deng nodded: "Buddha, the Six-Eared Macaque and the Spiritual Stone Monkey are both among the Four Chaotic Monkeys. Others may not kill Wukong, but the Six-Eared Macaque can. The Four Chaotic Monkeys share the same origin, and there is a great karmic connection between them. If they meet, it will inevitably be a fight to the death!"
The Buddha naturally understood the meaning of Dipankara Buddha: "The Buddha's intention is for the Six-Eared Macaque to kill Wukong and devour his essence, so that the Six-Eared Macaque will become Wukong!"
Dipankara Buddha nodded and said, “Amitabha, that is indeed the case. The Daoist Ancestor once said that the Dharma would not be passed on to Liu Er, which is why Liu Er has been wasting his time until now. His cultivation is still inferior to Wukong's, but his mind and nature have been perfected through hardships. If we help him achieve the Great Luo and allow him to change his identity, Liu Er will surely cherish this opportunity for rebirth, and it will also remove this worry from Buddhism. This Liu Er Macaque has experienced countless eons of hardship in the Three Realms, listened to all the laws of the world, and can understand our will. He is the most suitable person to carry out this matter.”
The mention of lighting lamps immediately sparked a great deal of discussion and admiration among the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.
This is indeed a very good solution.
It must be said that Randeng's plan did indeed solve the huge hidden dangers brought about by Sun Wukong in Journey to the West from the root. After Sun Wukong overthrew the statue of the Taoist Ancestor, it directly became the cancerous period of Journey to the West.
The Buddhist community is constantly patching up one hole today and filling another tomorrow, never finding a moment of peace before another crisis arrives. If this continues, the community will eventually collapse.
Everyone is now planning how to remedy the situation, but only Randeng is familiar with Yin Ziyu's plans and can solve the problem directly at its root.
Originally, Randeng suggested that Li Jing stage a photo for Wukong to see, but this has led to such consequences, forcing the Buddhist community to make the decision to cut off this scourge.
Ran Deng had actually planned this for a long time, but he hadn't made up his mind yet. Now, however, he had no choice but to make the decision to eradicate this hidden danger.
Because the Buddhists understood that with Yin Ziyu's ingenious schemes, who knew how many major karmic consequences would be brought to light from Wukong during this Journey to the West.
Furthermore, this will inevitably make Sun Wukong's burden heavier and heavier, until he becomes increasingly overwhelmed.
Compared to Sun Wukong, the Six-Eared Macaque has many advantages. Sun Wukong's birth caused him to wreak havoc in the Heavenly Palace, which shaped his free and rebellious nature, making him ignorant and fearless. However, he also had the desire to seek true knowledge and even the inner plan of being restrained by the golden headband.
And what about the six-eared macaque?
Born in ancient times, and forbidden by the Dao Ancestor to pass on his teachings to no one, he has been languishing without any hope of advancement. Becoming a demon king would be no problem, but his path to advancement would inevitably become narrower and narrower.
At the top, there are only a few forces, and who doesn't know Liu Er's background?
The nature of Liu Er, after countless eons of hardship, has cultivated a mindset of forbearance and survival. His desire is to obtain an identity and a legitimate inheritance. Once he obtains this opportunity, he will inevitably become absolutely dependent on it.
Once this is accomplished, the burden that Sun Wukong brought to Buddhism will be completely lifted in one fell swoop. Moreover, relying on the Six-Eared Macaque's temperament and intelligence, even if he cannot compete with Yin Ziyu, he can still deal with the situation calmly and will definitely not be used.
Upon hearing this, the Buddha nodded slightly, a hint of approval flashing in his eyes: "Your plan is excellent. Now that Wukong is about to go to the Heavenly Court to investigate the truth, we must make plans early and not miss this opportunity."
Ran Deng said, "We can have Liu Er quickly break through to the Great Luo Golden Immortal realm, take responsibility for the karma of Xia Chechi Kingdom, and then be killed by 'Wukong'. This plan will succeed!"
"good"
The core meeting at Mount Ling successfully finalized this plan, making Liu Er take the blame and then be killed – truly killing two birds with one stone.
Once the plan was finalized, it was immediately put into action. If the plan succeeded, all the problems brought about by Chechi Kingdom could be solved by Sun Wukong.
It must be said that this plan was ingenious to the extreme, practically flawless. (End of Chapter)
