Fairy Tail: You call this Celestial Magic?!

"Is there such a thing?"
Ogg frowned, looking completely unaware, and glanced at Moen and Makarov with suspicion.
"You really don't know?"
Like Ogg, Moen also looked suspicious.
Ogg suspected that the grandfather and grandson were talking nonsense, while Moen suspected that Ogg was pretending to be stupid. As the main person in charge of the Allied Forces, even if he was not involved, he couldn't possibly be completely unaware of the situation, right?
"It seems that Representative Deville has considerable power, able to completely bypass you, Representative Og, the head of the coalition, in doing things."
Makarov chuckled. Regardless of whether Og was involved or aware of the situation, they could still mock Og, the person in charge, for he couldn't even control his own subordinates.
“We are both councilors, and we don’t have a strong superior-subordinate relationship. He really doesn’t need to report to me what he wants to do.”
Og's face darkened, and he began to explain himself.
After an initial, reflexive moment of suspicion, Og quickly realized that Makarov and his grandson Moen were unlikely to be making fun of such a thing, because such a thing would be exposed as soon as asked.
“Just like Yajima, even if I am the second councilor and he is the sixth councilor, I cannot make him listen to me.”
To help Makarov and Moen understand, he gave an example.
Og felt that this example would allow the grandfather and grandson to directly understand the relationship between their council members. Yajima had always defended Fairy Tail and had always opposed him, but as the second seat, he couldn't do anything about the sixth seat.
"When you're out on a mission, there has to be a hierarchy, right?"
Moen raised a question: these councilors may not usually have any distinction in status or position, but when they go out to carry out missions, there must be a distinction between primary and secondary roles, otherwise trouble is bound to happen. Didn't Yagima become Ogg's deputy before?
“He came later, his mission is different, so he’s not under my jurisdiction.”
Og shook his head. Deville, who had done these things, was sent to clean up the mess. Unlike Yajima, who was under his jurisdiction, they were not strictly speaking a department.
"So you don't intend to get involved, and you can't control him either, right?"
Ogg's words gave off an air of indifference. Moen shook his head, looking unsurprised. The Magic Council was probably not far from its demise.
No, I will take care of it.
However, Ogg stood up and made a decision that surprised Moen.
'Could this old man really be someone who can't tolerate any wrongdoing?'
Seeing Ogg stand up, Moen remained silent for a moment.
"Let's go. Didn't you want me to take care of it?"
Og walked up to Moen and Makarov and said that he knew the grandfather and grandson wanted to use him as a tool to make their Magic Council fight amongst themselves, but he would still do it because he felt that what Deville did was indeed wrong.
"As expected of Councilor Oger, he is indeed upright and righteous."
Makarov smiled and said that things had not developed beyond his expectations.
Makarov knew that the old man Og would definitely get involved in this matter. If Og really turned a blind eye to it, then the old man wouldn't keep targeting Fairy Tail, as it wouldn't benefit him.
"Humph."
Og snorted coldly, not giving Makarov a friendly look. He still disliked Fairy Tail.
He intervened in this matter not because Fairy Tail reported it, but because any two other people reported it to him, and he would have intervened just the same way.
Because Deville and he were not in the same department and had different responsibilities, Og had not paid attention to Deville's work. He had been working on the mission summary report these days and had no idea what Deville had gotten into.
If he had known earlier, he would have intervened long ago, preventing things from escalating to this point.
"That old man Eugene is really something."
Seeing Og rushing off to find Deville, Moen had to admit that the guy did have a simple sense of justice.
But if they admitted this, it would make Fairy Tail seem like they weren't good people, since they've always been watched closely by Ogre, who has a simple sense of justice.
"Deville! Stop what you're doing immediately! You're tarnishing the reputation of the Magic Council! You're using the Council's power for personal gain! I'll give you a chance. If you stop doing all this, I'll let bygones be bygones. Otherwise, I will report everything you've done truthfully!"
After confirming that Deville had indeed done these things, Og immediately charged at Deville with a flying dragon without any hesitation, completely stunning Deville.
"Ogg, what's wrong with you?!"
Councilor Deville didn't look young either, probably in his fifties or sixties, but that was considered young among the councilors of the Magic Council.
Faced with Og's questioning, Deville was not intimidated at all, and instead confronted Og head-on, which shows that their seats as councilors were indeed not very effective.
"Who gave you the confidence?"
Looking at the defiant Deville, Og questioned him. He wasn't stupid; Deville dared to stand up to him like this because he had something to rely on, and someone must be backing him up. These things weren't just things Deville did on a whim.
This infuriated Ogre even more. This was their Magic Council! These were their council members! Who were they?!
“Serving the council doesn’t require anyone’s backing.”
Deville remained defiant, speaking in a grand and righteous manner, but Og and Yajima, who had come with him, understood Deville's meaning: this guy was using the Speaker's name.
"."
Og fell silent. He hadn't expected the Speaker to be so short-sighted as to do something that would damage the prestige of the Magic Council.
Acquiring and monopolizing scarce magical beast materials for the foreseeable future can indeed make a lot of money, but the loss of public support to the Magic Council is not so easy to restore!
"By the way, Representative Ajma, don't you have any impeachment procedures? And this Speaker, don't you hold elections?"
Seeing that the situation had become somewhat deadlocked, Moen asked Yajima in a low voice.
"Elections are held only after the speaker dies, and barring any major issues, the terms are usually for life. The council members are generally the same. Impeaching the speaker based on this kind of thing is useless. If a vote were to be held, the final result would definitely be nothing. The speaker's style has attracted a lot of support."
Yajima began to explain in a low voice.
To put it bluntly, the current Magic Council is in a very difficult position to reform itself from within. Like father, like son; the Magic Council is basically rotten from top to bottom.
"Stop this. Go back and tell the Speaker that I'm preventing you from doing it. I'll take responsibility for any consequences."
Faced with the resolute Deville, Oger thought for a moment and then made his final decision: he was determined to see this matter through to the end!
O'Gor looked serious. He had already seen it, right under his nose. If he didn't stop it after discovering it, then he would be a useless councilor!
"Good! Councilor Og did a great job!" Og's decision was immediately approved by everyone. Many mages who had come to watch the conflict cheered loudly, expressing their support for Og's actions.
"If they don't cooperate, we won't be sitting idly by!"
"Do you really think we're made of clay?! That we can just mold us at will?!"
"There are bad people in the Magic Council!"
The surrounding mages shouted loudly, their emotions running high. Og's intervention to stop Deville's actions had clearly ignited the pent-up emotions of the group.
The Magic Council's act of buying up monster materials from everyone is truly appalling; it's practically robbing everyone of their money.
To be honest, if this matter hadn't come to light sooner, and everyone's emotions had been building up to a breaking point, then Deville and his group would have been in trouble anyway. Don't think that just because they're in the name of the Magic Council, they can do whatever they want.
"You!!! You bastard, Eugene!"
Ogg's toughness was clearly unexpected by Deville. He didn't expect Ogg to be so stubborn as to go against the Speaker.
The jeering mages around him, who even verbally abused him, made Deville feel extremely embarrassed.
What gives these guys the right to disobey the Magic Council's orders?! Aren't they afraid the Magic Council will arrest them?!
"What do you want?! Are you trying to go against the Magic Council?!"
Deville pointed at the surrounding mages and questioned them loudly, but unfortunately, they just looked at him coldly, as if he were a clown, which made him even more embarrassed.
“Councilor Deville, I have a suggestion for you: return all the things you bought under the guise of the Magic Council. That way, everyone can save face and it will be as if nothing ever happened.”
Moen smiled and offered a compromise: help everyone get their things back. They had already done each other a favor, so there was no need to escalate the conflict further. If things really escalated, it wouldn't be good for anyone, since the Magic Council was, after all, an official organization.
"Are you kidding me?! The Magic Council will not accept threats!"
Unfortunately, Deville did not appreciate Moen's offer and angrily rejected it without backing down.
"Congressman Eugene, what do you think we should do now?"
Moen looked at Og with a helpless expression. This Deville was really a bit exaggerated. Was he really that unable to see the situation?
If he doesn't back down in this situation, things will get out of hand. With Councilor Og standing up, everyone's emotions have been ignited. Even if Og's attitude suddenly softens, the emotions of these mages, which have been stirred up, will not be so easy to appease.
"Take him down, and I'll handle the rest."
Without any hesitation, Oger made the right decision.
Ogg also realized that it would be difficult for Deville to leave unscathed today. By ordering his men to capture Deville, he actually protected Deville from a beating.
"Ogg! How dare you!"
Deville continued shouting, appearing extremely angry, while his guards stepped forward to protect him as he left.
The guards were also quite conflicted. These two councilors were fighting, so which side should they help? Who was the one in the wrong?
"Buzz!"
"We're here to help!"
As a result, the guards' dilemma didn't last long, because the surrounding mages rushed up, leaving them all dumbfounded.
"Seize Councilman Deville!"
One of the guards, on a whim, immediately turned against them and went to arrest Councilor Deville.
Ogg has two councilors, himself and Yajima, while Deville only has one. It's obvious which side is "correct"!
"What a farce."
Looking at the jubilant scene before him, Moen found it somewhat amusing. He could only say that the Magic Council was indeed getting worse and worse, and its credibility was gradually being lost. Now, everyone was "arresting" Deville, which directly tore off the Magic Council's fig leaf.
“Nonsense.”
Ogre was somewhat surprised by the sight of the mages swarming forward; he clearly didn't want to see this.
Og wanted his men to grab Deville, but the guy actually dared to resist, giving the surrounding mages a chance to swarm him without even a chance to stop him.
Soon, Councilor Deville was captured by the mages, and the bruised and battered Councilor Deville was brought before Councilor Og.
"It's us! It's Fairy Tail! We caught him!"
Natsu jumped around excitedly, shouting as he, Gray, and Gajeel worked together to pull Deville out of the crowd.
The three children escorted Deville to Og. Natsu's arrogance, smugness, and constant shouting of "Fairy Tail" made Og very unhappy. He really didn't want Councilor Deville to make such a fool of himself; it was actually a slap in the face to the entire Magic Council!
'Those Fairy Tail guys are causing trouble everywhere.'
Ogre thought to himself, "Fairy Tail is the first to get this done, they're practically the nemesis of the Magic Council!"
"Ahem, they're just kids, they were a little rough with them, don't mind them, they probably didn't expect Councilor Deville to be so weak."
Seeing Ogre's dark expression, Moen stepped in to smooth things over, bringing up the classic "they're still children" argument. However, Councilor Deville's abilities were indeed somewhat mediocre, and perhaps the position of councilor wasn't based on merit.
"I'm leaving this matter to you."
With a dark expression, Og ordered his men to take Deville away. Then, without waiting for Deville's consent, he led his men away, not wanting to stay there for even a second longer.
"Oh oh oh! Win!"
Cheers erupted from the mages; the result was clearly gratifying.
"Councilor Og is very concerned about the authority of the Magic Council, which is one of the reasons why he has been targeting Fairy Tail."
Watching Og leave with his men, Yajima shook his head. Og was a rather complicated guy, but in the current Magic Council, he was definitely one of the more conscientious ones.
