My ordinary path to immortality shouldn't end here.
Chapter 131 The Ferocious Evil Within Mount Shu
Chapter 131 The Ferocious Evil Within Mount Shu
This is a warning from the Daoist Lord, and also an admonition.
Upon hearing this, Bai Chijing did not take out the piercing club as he had when facing Tai'a. Instead, he clasped his hands in a gesture toward the sky, indicating that he would listen and would not set foot in the mortal realm for the next hundred years!
Because this person knows the Heavenly Slash skill.
Bai Chijing originally didn't have enough knowledge about the Heavenly Slash until he accidentally learned about the origin of that Immortal Mirror.
Even a celestial treasure that is nearly beyond the Golden Immortal level cannot fully recover after being struck by the Heavenly Slash. It's better for him to be honest. If he were to suffer another Heavenly Slash, he might be able to find another path, but there's no need to endure this torture.
Daojun's strength may not necessarily be greater than Tai'a's, but Daojun definitely possesses a power that Tai'a cannot have!
This power is an unstoppable weapon for those who cannot contend with Dao Lords.
As Bai Chijing's thoughts raced, he turned his gaze to Huai Qiaoqiao in front of him. After casually sealing the human demons he had captured one by one, he said, "Junior sister, go to the human world to refine these demons and replenish your own strength. If you are able, find some rare and precious materials for me."
He may not be able to go to the mortal realm of Yao, but that doesn't mean he can't have Qiaoqiao!
"These rare and precious materials... is Senior Brother going to refine the Heavenly Profound Pill?" Huai Qiaoqiao glanced at the names of the rare and precious materials that Bai Chijing had condensed into words and written down, and was immediately surprised.
Because Bai Chijing has now attained immortality! And these rare and precious materials are the very ingredients needed for the well-known Heavenly Profound Pill.
“Once your cultivation is sufficient, you can practice the fake past method I created. If you are willing to sever your demonic powers at that time, you may be able to return to human form. I already have the Human Profound Pill and the Earth Profound Pill here,” Bai Chijing said. He did not mention the Heavenly Profound Qi, because there was no need for it.
With Huai Qiaoqiao's cultivation level, she knew that such a thing was not a good thing.
Bai Chijing has cultivated all this time, but he has never heard of any powerful figure secretly collecting human and earthly profound energy.
If the Heavenly Profound Qi is too rare, surely there must be some trace of Human Profound Qi as well?
But it just didn’t happen.
This doesn't necessarily mean it's a good thing, because it often means the waters are deeper.
"It should be a hundred years from now..."
Bai Chijing seemed to be deep in thought. The shackles that appeared earlier were meant to suppress the human world for three hundred years, and he had already passed through two hundred of those years.
However, after he attained immortality in the mortal realm, the Daoist Lord forbade him to remain in the world for a hundred years.
Therefore, this point in time, a hundred years from now, will be extremely delicate.
"Thank you, senior brother!"
Upon receiving Bai Chijing's reply, Huai Qiaoqiao was deeply moved. She had long been accustomed to her identity as a demon in the mortal realm, never expecting that her "Senior Brother Bai" would still consider her so much!
Then, Huai Qiaoqiao left this blessed land with Bai Chijing's "gift package of human monsters".
The moment she left the blessed land, a wisp of its energy enveloped her!
This means that in the event of a life-or-death crisis, the blessed land created by Bai Chijing will immediately guide Huai Qiaoqiao and protect her from all calamities!
After all, Bai Chijing had already anticipated that a hundred years from now would be a very special time. How could his seemingly strategic move not be targeted?
Then, Bai Chijing began to ponder carefully.
At this point, he already possessed all the characteristics of "climbing high and looking far".
Climbing high and gazing into the distance is the first stage of cultivation after attaining immortality. This stage can also be called "walking the road to soar into the void and view the mysteries, looking down upon all the mountains and observing them together," and "my heart surveying the heavens."
The reason for these three alternative names is that each of these three names highlights a significant characteristic of this stage.
Although climbing to high places and gazing into the distance is the first stage of cultivation after attaining immortality, it is not necessary to complete this stage before starting the next stage of cultivation.
Once you've completed about a third of the training, you can begin practicing "emotions adapting to changing circumstances."
Therefore, the journey of seeking enlightenment through soaring into the void, looking down upon all the mountains and observing the heavens, actually represents three directions of cultivation after attaining immortality.
However, while there are three directions for cultivation, there are more than just these three paths.
Some people only cultivate one-third of the skills, advancing step by step; some cultivate both, attaining two-thirds and "seeing far from the top"; some cultivate all three, achieving "seeing far from the top" and sublimating themselves to the extreme!
This first category is the choice of most people who attain immortality.
This second category is only for those with exceptional backgrounds.
As for the last category, only those who are ignorant of their own limitations would choose this path. Because this type of person is either born with it, or all their arduous efforts in this life will be in vain.
This is because once all three are cultivated, then the Heavenly Dao must yield in order to perform the act of "changing circumstances according to one's feelings".
How could Heaven yield on this matter?
Although Bai Chijing now possessed all the characteristics of "climbing high and looking far," meaning he had cultivated all three, he wasn't actually ignorant of his own limitations. He had simply been stuck before, and through decades of accumulation and hard work, he had cultivated all the characteristics of "climbing high and looking far."
Otherwise, he wouldn't have suddenly comprehended the False Past Law, a scripture concerning the way of time.
Because this is actually a natural result of spiritual practice.
Climbing high and looking far is not simply about increasing strength and lifespan, but a transformation of dimensions. On the path of cultivation, it is a leap from "knowing what" to "knowing why".
The cultivation of external objects, external appearances, and the external world—all three realms contain the word "external" because even if one cultivates to the upper realm of the external world, it is still only a cultivation of "knowing what it is".
To attain enlightenment and become an immortal is to begin to "know the reason why"!
Therefore, all true immortals possess three major abilities.
This is the foundation of the path to immortality.
These three foundational principles of the Immortal Path are: Viewing the universe within a speck of dust! Being omnipresent and without distance, neither shifting nor escaping! Using spacetime as a blade and all phenomena as a shield!
This corresponds perfectly to the three directions of spiritual practice: climbing high and looking far.
If one can travel to the highest heavens and survey the mysteries, then one can see the universe in the smallest dust particle! In a single thought, one can know every detail of the place where one is.
Looking down upon all the mountains, one is omnipresent, neither moving nor escaping! Where the mortal heart is, there the body is; one step out, and one is on a journey through heaven and earth.
My heart surveys the heavens, with time and space as my blade and all things as my shield! Time flows through my fingertips, and the changes of all things arise and perish in the palm of my hand.
The different cultivation paths naturally determine the different focuses of the foundation of these three immortal paths.
The first type, although it can also possess the power of the other two immortal paths, will undoubtedly have a power represented by the direction it cultivates that far surpasses the strength of the other two.
The second category consists of two types of immortal path foundations with powerful forces and one type with weak forces.
Finally, if all three categories are present, and all three can "ascend high and look far," then the power of these three foundational paths to immortality will be extremely strong.
Bai Chijing was in this state at that moment.
Because of the birth of this blessed land, he also gained an additional power that can be called the foundation of the immortal path—avoiding disaster and gaining blessings invisibly! Previously, when facing the Dao Lord, Old Monster Bai was so at ease, which was precisely due to the influence of this power of the foundation of the immortal path.
"Standing high in the vast sky, my heart surveys the boundless universe."
"Without taking a single step, all the heavens will be reached, and the stars will shimmer and circle beneath your feet."
"A thousand mountains share the same thoughts, which are reflected in the palm lines; a great force surges forth, roaring within the palm."
"It is not about climbing to admire the scenery, but about illuminating the original path for me."
Bai Chijing's eyes flickered slightly, and he murmured to himself.
This was not his creation, but rather a poem he wrote after attaining immortality, inspired by the world around him. It was written by an ancient and mysterious figure long ago, inscribed on the theme of "climbing high and gazing afar."
Imprinted between heaven and earth, guiding the spiritual practice of those who come after.
"In the beginning, I followed the Way..."
Bai Chijing seemed to be deep in thought, but in the end he shook his head regretfully. Although this poem gave him some inspiration, it still couldn't help him directly achieve "emotions change with circumstances".
But it doesn't matter, he has already found a way to make Heaven give in.
As the saying goes, if the mountain won't come to me, I'll go to the mountain. Isn't this a way of moving mountains?
So, Bai Chijing raised his hand, and the Celestial Mirror that circulated the twelve zodiac animals appeared, instantly establishing a connection with the "Shu Realm".
Without hesitation, Bai Chijing took a step forward.
Bai Chijing's figure began to fade away, and the fading was incredibly fast, lasting only a moment. At the same time, in the "Shu Realm," at the foot of the former Tianlong Pass cliff, Bai Chijing's figure appeared out of thin air.
The moment Bai Chijing appeared in this world, he was locked onto by dozens of gazes from Mount Shu. But in that instant, Bai Chijing's previously stagnant cultivation level broke through.
Feelings change with circumstances!
According to the division of "Shu Boundary", the breakthrough from "climbing high and looking far" to "feelings change with the environment" is still the domain of the immortals of Chengde.
In short, they are no match for the celestial beings on Mount Shu.
However, just like the first stage after attaining immortality, "climbing high and looking far," this second stage after attaining immortality, "feelings change with circumstances," also has three names.
They are: All Feelings in the Dust Have Law, Transforming Emotions into the Dao Without Heaven, and Three Thousand Treasures in the Mortal World.
These three names are not empty titles, but represent a cultivation direction of "change of feelings with changing circumstances", and are closely connected with the power of this cultivation stage.
When Bai Chijing entered the cultivation stage of "emotions changing with circumstances", the three cultivation paths of "all feelings in harmony with the world", "transforming emotions into the Dao without heaven" and "three thousand treasures in the mortal world" naturally resonated with him immediately.
As soon as the power representing "transforming emotions into the Dao without fear" resonated with Bai Chijing, Bai Chijing's figure vanished without a trace right before the eyes of all the celestial beings from Mount Shu.
……
On Mount Shu.
The effects of this name change have already begun to appear on this number one mountain in the world. The originally incredibly rich spiritual energy, even with the suppression of various meridians, has been reduced by half.
A difference of just one word can make all the difference.
Half of the destiny that Mount Shu had accumulated in the past was forcibly cut off.
It was precisely this influence that caused Bai Chijing's second evil thought to directly reach the top-tier level.
Even though Cao Lingzi only revealed his true form for a short time, and was ultimately destroyed by Shushan, ending up with his soul scattered, that brief moment of effort was enough to allow the will of this world to break free from some of its constraints.
At this moment, the celestial beings on Mount Shu all looked on with surprise and doubt. With their abilities, they naturally knew that Bai Chijing had not really left. However, what was unbelievable was that even though they knew this, they were still unable to find any trace of Bai Chijing.
"The most malevolent and evil ruler!"
"The 'Ten Desires-Free Suffering Immortal Scripture' truly lives up to its reputation."
As a being of the Miro True Realm, he was unaware of Bai Chijing in the past and naturally could not see anything about him. However, after the Grass Spirit revealed Bai Chijing's origins, Bai Chijing no longer had any secrets in this world.
These beings in the Realm of True Essence not only knew that Bai Chijing came from Yaotian, but also that Bai Chijing had a considerable reputation in the Underworld.
Of course, the most crucial thing is that they know that this White Pond Scenery was lured here by that demon monk!
This point is something that makes some of the True Immortals of Mount Shu feel like they have a bone stuck in their throat, because it's like they're lifting a stone only to drop it on their own foot.
The reason why the demon monk initially went to Yaotian was because a celestial being from Mount Shu accidentally deduced that there was another world outside this one that was extremely similar to the "Mount Shu Realm".
If these two realms could converge, it might allow many True Celestial Immortals to advance further!
So the celestial being gathered a few helpers and escorted the demon monk to Yao Tian. Originally, the intention was simply to build a bridge to connect the two realms, allowing beings from the Mi Luo Zhi Zhen realm to go there and complete the final push for the convergence of heaven and earth.
Unexpectedly, a vicious and evil supreme being appeared in the mortal realm of Yao, who not only stole the demon monk's knowledge but also used him as a stepping stone to directly descend upon the "Shushan Realm"!
"The one who tied the knot must untie it." At this moment, Xuan Kongzhi, the head of the Shu Mountain Sect, spoke, and his clear voice directly reached the ears of all the immortals of Shu Mountain.
The immortals of Mount Shu below the Miro Zhizhen realm were naturally very puzzled upon hearing this.
The forty-eight Miro Supreme Celestial Immortals couldn't help but show a hint of solemnity and surprise on their faces.
The Shu Mountain people are very familiar with the Yin and Yang lands, and even the list of the most vicious and evil beings. This is not because the celestial beings on the Shu Mountain learned anything from the Five Elders, but because ten thousand years ago, a most vicious and evil being was born in the "Shu Mountain Realm".
That extremely ferocious and evil being was not the likes of the Crimson Spring Demon or the Evil Sword Celestial Immortal; in fact, to be precise, that being did not actually exist.
Because that extremely vicious and evil being is essentially a concept.
And this concept is called "non-existence"!
This concept existed in secret, initially unknown to everyone, even the Five Elders of Mount Shu were kept in the dark. It was only through an accident, or perhaps because this extremely vicious and evil being became rampant, that it was discovered.
This extremely fierce and evil existence has actually carved out a "vacancy" in the hearts of many cultivators and even immortals!
This emptiness of the human heart will constantly give rise to thoughts of nothingness.
Once these nihilistic thoughts arise, they become uncontrollable, causing the practitioner or immortal to gradually lose themselves, until finally all traces related to them are completely erased.
