Chapter 657 Rising Star
Time goes back a few minutes.

“I didn’t expect to see Nova Corps helmets on Earth, and judging from your armor, you’ve inherited the equipment of a centurion, which is the high command of the Nova Corps.”

Mar-Vell looked at the young man Spider-Man brought with considerable surprise, dressed in Nova suits, then frowned and asked Richard Ryder, "Where did you find this helmet, young man?"

At first, Richard listened with interest to the pale blue-skinned alien rambling on, but after hearing this, he put on a serious face and replied, "I didn't find this, sir. One night, when I was fixing my bicycle in my backyard, this helmet flew over by itself."

Hearing this, Mar-Vell became even more tense. Richard, on the other hand, was curious and wanted to ask something else, but Mar-Vell's next question made him wary: "Can I see your helmet?"

"?"

“What you’re saying is probably true, but if it’s a centurion, he would never throw away his helmet for no reason. Even in the entire Nova Corps, centurions are the best and most outstanding people. There are only five hundred centurions in the entire Nova Corps—in other words, only five centurions.”

The previously wary and hesitant newcomer became quite surprised upon hearing this: "Only five hundred people?"

"Yes, because the Nova Corps' power comes entirely from the central computer 'World Will' of Xandar. Such a powerful force cannot be mass-produced. They only maintain a force of five hundred people. Each Nova is an elite warrior with a sense of justice, carefully selected from the Andromeda and Milky Way star systems, according to Earth's terms. So I find it strange that a centurion's helmet is here."

"And more importantly, what kind of crisis could bring a centurion from the Nova Corps to Earth? And, very importantly, who is he hunting, and has that person already entered Earth?"

Upon hearing this, Richard took off his prized helmet and handed it to Mar-Vell. Mar-Vell, without any hesitation, led Richard into the laboratory and began using Kree Empire technology and his knowledge of Xandar to reverse engineer the Nova Helmet.

Then what Peter and the others witnessed happened: the Nova Helmet, having discovered the hacked program, forcibly flew onto Richard's head and began attacking his opponent. As a result, this thing flew around S.W.A.R. in a chaotic mess, knocking things over.

Finally, the captain slammed him down from the sky with his shield.

"Calm down, soldier. You're the one who controls the weapon." The captain looked at Richard, who was lying on the ground and seemed unable to control himself, and said with some concern, "Control it, don't be afraid of it. Take a deep breath, don't strain, just feel where you're firing."

"I think the captain meant to say put your hand on the trigger, but don't press it, but this helmet doesn't have a trigger."

Peter muttered a complaint under his breath, and Tony nodded in agreement: "Yeah, it would be great if every weapon could be perfectly controlled just by pulling the trigger. But some guns aren't even that, there are even bolt-action rifles called assault rifles..."

The captain ignored the complaints from the two people behind him and simply helped Richard up. Richard took a few deep breaths before calming down, took off his helmet, and then discovered that the person in front of him was actually Captain America.

“I… oh my god, it’s Captain America, and Iron Man… oh my god.” Richard took another deep breath: “I saw it, I saw the message the helmet’s owner left for me, he’s important! You have to see this!” “Calm down, kid, let’s go back to Mar-Vell’s lab, and then you tell us everything.”

The captain took the kid back to the lab, where Mar-Vell was sweeping with a broom. He saw this and quickly came over. He watched as Richard placed the helmet on the table, and then the star on the helmet projected the image of a man. It was a man who looked very human, except that his skin was a little pink.

"This is Roman Day, a centurion of the Nova Corps, a famous hero of the Nova Corps—I've seen reports in the war briefings about him entering the war zone to rescue civilians."

“A Kree.” Roman Day looked at Mar-Vell, seemingly surprised. “According to intelligence, I thought this planet had not made interstellar contact.”

“I’m just a scientist here on an inspection tour, not a diplomat. And your intelligence is a bit outdated, Commander.” Mar-Vell introduced Captain and Tony to the centurion: “They are the guardians of this planet, who previously prevented a war in which the Chitauri attempted to invade their world through a man-made wormhole.”

The centurion gave the captain and his men a Xandar salute. Although they had never met before, the captain nodded in response. At that moment, Richard asked with some anticipation, "You, are you still alive?"

"Unfortunately, that's not the case. I am just an artificial intelligence copied from Roman Day's mind information. In order to warn Earth of a potential threat, I was seriously injured while wiping out a space pirate gang. The leader of this pirate gang, Zor, has already fled to Earth, but unfortunately, I have no way to track him down."

Peter remembered Nova's origin, since it was exactly the same as Green Lantern's, but he didn't really know much about the villains in the Marvel universe. When Roman Day showed him the image, he still couldn't recognize who this blue giant was, but it looked a bit like... Yondu or a Kree?

No, none of those. If I had to say, it seems more like Nebula? A member of Nebula's clan?

"What did a Lupomian, a truly notorious pirate race, do to warrant the death of a centurion of the Nova Corps?"

Mar-Vell glanced at Roman Day, seemingly unintentionally, awaiting his answer. The Lupomians were indeed troublesome, especially since they were pirates under Thanos's command, but not enough to cause Xandar such heavy losses. However, if Thanos had intervened, Xandar would theoretically be wiped out.

Roman Day gave a very vague answer.

"The Lupomian found a weapon that was so powerful that it could extract geothermal energy from an entire planet and destroy it. The Nova Corps paid a heavy price to destroy the weapon, but he himself escaped to Earth."

Roman Day in the MCU is the Nova Commander of Xandar in Guardians of the Galaxy.

The origin of the new star is still heavily modified. Zol is actually not important, just a minor character, but he is given a very interesting foreshadowing.
