I'm working on Marvel's Spider-Man in American comics.

Chapter 655 A mere scoundrel who sells his head by placing a bidding pawn!
To be honest, Nova's equipment isn't bad at all. Although its origins are copied from Green Lantern and its abilities are standard low-end Superman abilities: superhuman strength, flight, and energy projection, the Nova helmet is actually a very powerful piece of equipment in terms of sheer numbers.
But precisely because of this, its users are in greater danger.
Peter didn't want to comment on Richard Ryder's abilities or lack of experience, as he was a senior figure. He knew very well that not everyone could grind through hellish dungeons like Spider-Man and accumulate such high experience. Everyone started as a newbie, and back when they fought the horror movie, there were a lot of messes.
However, this does not mean that Peter really does not intend to do anything. On the one hand, these young heroes are indeed inexperienced, and their battles can sometimes easily injure passersby. On the other hand, a considerable number of so-called heroes, especially those who appear later, have a common problem.
They themselves don't know why they want to be superheroes.
With the increasing number of superpowered individuals and superheroes worldwide, a star effect has emerged, leading many superpowered individuals to choose to become superheroes, but if you ask them why, they can't answer.
Or rather, they become superheroes simply because they discover they have superpowers, just like someone discovering they are suited for sports or performance and then becoming an athlete or actor. This is already a mindless craze and trend.
The problem is that superheroes are vigilantes, not celebrities, and many of those involved will soon realize that they get nothing in return.
They might even receive only condemnation and abuse, for whatever reason—the superhero profession is actually quite thankless, and what happens when a large number of superpowered individuals flock to it, wanting to become superheroes but finding that people don't thank them but only complain about their actions?
"So I have to say, why did you decide to come out and help?"
Peter rushed forward, caught Nova, and put him aside. He then asked, "I noticed you seemed disappointed when no one called your name. Did you become a superhero for everyone's applause?"
"Of course I'm not—"
"You have to have a reason, no matter how outrageous it is."
Nova seemed to suddenly realize something, but after Spider-Man officially joined the battle, the Fearful Four changed their tactics. First, the Tech Wizard threw out dozens of gravity suction cups, which were scattered throughout the space, releasing gravity in completely different directions and intensities, and constantly changing their directions.
His goal was to prevent Spider-Man from utilizing his mobility and to completely trap him using the chaos of gravity!
Peter drew a hanging gate, and the next moment, the vast ocean from Atlantis swept away all the gravity suction cups, then returned to the sea through another, larger hanging gate. The tech wizard floating in mid-air had a stiff expression, completely unable to understand what had happened.
What happened? How come Spider-Man's high-tech gadgets just vanished all of a sudden?!
Flash cheered from the side, though Peter suspected Flash hadn't understood it either. Nova, after staring at it for a long time, directly asked, "Aren't you Spider-Man?"
"First of all, yes, I was bitten by a magical spider. Secondly, I know what you want to ask, but I don't have time to tell you right now. As for why, it's because a guy everyone calls Noise, but who doesn't actually say a word, is silently aiming at me from behind."
Four mechanical claws appeared on Spider-Man's back, firing lasers that pierced through Nova's prosthetic limbs. Peter then continued to question Nova: "So why did you do this thankless task? I mean, superheroes and stuff, you seem to live a pretty happy life, with no tragic past—I don't mean anything by it, I just wanted to ask."
Richard Ryder opened his mouth, realizing he couldn't answer, and couldn't help but ask in return, "And you, why did you become Spider-Man? Watch out!"
Titania was already charging towards him from behind. This burly woman, who was strong enough to go toe-to-toe with the Thing, was hurtling towards Spider-Man at a speed that even a Nova would find unbelievable. But the person in front of him didn't seem to notice this: "Me? I'm pathetic. I'm in this line of work entirely because I have a mental illness."
Mental illness? Richard still hadn't reacted, but Peter jumped backflip first, then shot out spider silk from his wrist, directly ensnaring Titania in mid-air and tripping her to the ground.
"A very serious mental illness, obsessive-compulsive disorder where you feel uncomfortable if you don't help someone who needs help. What about you? Do you have obsessive-compulsive disorder?"
At that moment, Richard Ryder suspected that Spider-Man was playing a joke on him, but suddenly he realized that perhaps it wasn't. He looked at the others, only to be refuted by Peter before he could.
"Don't look at the others. I know them better than you. The cloak and the dagger were human test subjects of some evil organization. Of the hundreds of test subjects, only four survived. Even then, they almost drowned in the base. ... Um, Agent Venom is a bit strange, but he's someone who's willing to step forward even when he doesn't have superpowers."
"And what about you? What's your reason?"
"Are you here to ask me for my reasons?"
"No, I'm just asking you, if you don't have a reason to do this, you definitely won't be able to stick with it, my friend. Our line of work isn't as glamorous as you think. If you don't do a good job, people will criticize you, and if you think you're doing a good job, people will still criticize you. Some people don't care how many people you've saved or how terrible the enemy you've stopped; they only care about the people you didn't save or the losses you couldn't avert."
"Like Jonah Jameson?"
"Like Jonah Jameson... well, sort of."
As Spider-Man spoke, he fired webs behind him and pulled hard. He then heard Dagger's unexpected cry and turned around to see that Trap King had stepped on his super glue, which caused a collision with the webs. He was pulled over, but his pants remained on the super glue.
…The Spider-Man Noir's senses still have some limitations; for example, he can't sense the super glue on the floor. Peter sighed, put the Trap King aside, and asked Nova in return.
"So, wanna chat, buddy? I told you, I know a place that's perfect for you right now."
Richard Ryder finally gave an answer that wasn't a rhetorical question.
"where?"
"Up in the sky, the Heavenly Sword Bureau, my friend."
Chapter Two will be posted around 7 AM; I have something to do in the morning.
