Chapter 648 Toms Studio
For high school sophomores, the first day of school held little appeal; they were more interested in preparing for the homecoming festival. Peter and his friends, however, headed to the new Spiderweb base after school.

The old Spiderweb base was destroyed when Doctor Octopus invaded and kidnapped Dr. Jonathan, and too many people knew about it, so Norman Osborn generously decided to rebuild a base. However, this time, he was not the direct owner of the base, and the base's name was changed from Harry's mother Emily's research project to other places. As for the foundation, Norman himself was in charge of it.

Osborn Technology is now also beginning to implement the research projects left behind by Harry's mother on a large scale.

"So, the new address of the Spider Web base was moved from your father's to your father-in-law's."

The three of them took the subway together to the vicinity of the new base. This place was also an old one, the dock where they fought Riot during the Symbiote Frenzy. A warehouse there had been rented by "Vulture" Adrian Tooms.

Oh, strictly speaking, he's never actually been a vulture in this universe, so let's just stick with Mr. Toms.

Because AIM collapsed so suddenly, Adrian hadn't even spent the money before the company went bankrupt. He spent a month or two in a daze and in fear. Then he found that no one or any department came to ask him for the money. So he simply took advantage of the reconstruction of the place and rented a new cheap warehouse as the base for his new project.

Furthermore, Stark, Osborn, S.H.I.E.L.D., and even Peter Parker all had some investment in this base.

Tony was simply spending money to prevent a capable person from turning into a villain. Norman's situation was, of course, due to his son. Peter's situation was slightly more complicated. He couldn't easily use the various Spider-Man merchandise profits to improve his family's life, as there was a risk of his identity being discovered by others. Moreover, Uncle Ben had also indicated that it wasn't necessary to do so.

A significant portion of the money was donated by Peter to the charity banquet, but he also intended to invest some in equipment upgrades. Dr. Jonathan and Dr. Connors were experts in scientific research, but they were not very good at engineering.

Peter doesn't know many engineers. Tony wouldn't mind upgrading Spider-Man's equipment, but it would definitely be made in the style of Iron Man. Thriller is locked up in the mansion prison. Even if he weren't locked up, Peter wouldn't feel comfortable with him because of the explosive power of Thriller's launcher, not to mention that they don't have that deep a relationship.

So, if we're looking for someone relatively trustworthy, not someone S.H.I.E.L.D. is in charge of, and someone convenient to protect (monitor) to do all this, then Adrian Tooms is indeed the most suitable at the moment—especially since he doesn't know Peter is Spider-Man; he only knows he's making equipment for Spider-Man, and he doesn't even know the Web Base is right below his warehouse. (The entrance isn't even inside the warehouse.)
As for S.H.I.E.L.D.... Peter suspects that they just want to get involved.

"Father-in-law, that's going too far. What about Peter?"

Harry, after making a comment about Amadeus, looked around and realized Peter was gone. Amadeus, however, didn't seem to mind: "He's there to inspect the goods as the client. He needs to find a place to change clothes. Maybe he's already waiting for us in Toms' workshop."

As they talked, the two walked into the dock warehouse with the sign "Toms Studio". Sure enough, Peter had already put on his nanosuit and entered the warehouse. Not only that, he rode a motorcycle along the warehouse wall for a while before landing on the ground, and the motorcycle was undamaged.

“It’s simply perfect, Mr. Tooms. My old base never managed to build the Spider Motorcycle before it was destroyed, but you completed it in less than three months.”

“It’s not complicated, Spider-Man. Anti-gravity devices are my forte. Using them for shock absorption and wall climbing will easily meet your needs,” Tooms said, sipping his coffee. Behind the studio sat his most prized creation—the Vulture's wings. Peter got off the motorcycle after trying it out for a while, and Harry, who had rushed over, asked excitedly, “Can I try it?” “Don’t even think about it, Harold.” After saying that, Tooms realized his tone was a bit off. “Let me put it this way: this motorcycle is fine to ride on the ground, but if you ride it up a wall and then fall down, your body definitely won’t be able to handle it. In short, this vehicle isn’t for normal humans. Sorry, Spider-Man, but you should know what I mean.”

Harry sighed helplessly, while Tooms continued leading the group inside, saying, "And these things too. Spider-Man, the blueprints you sent me were amazing. I didn't expect you to be such a good engineer. With the Avengers' resources, you should have been able to handle all of this yourself."

"Yes, but more often than not there is no time, and we have encountered some... situations before, some artificial intelligence enemies. In order to guard against such situations, I think we still need to find someone to use more primitive technology to manufacture some equipment."

Peter gave Adrian many blueprints that weren't intended for himself, or rather, for others to use for self-defense. These included things like spider-web grenades and controllable spider robots similar to the Rainbow Six Siege vehicles. He also obtained numerous blueprints for octopus robots from Doctor Octopus, which could be easily modified into spider robots.

These items serve two purposes: firstly, to give the support team a sense of involvement, keeping them occupied while Peter operates; and secondly, to provide them with protection, as many items are suitable for self-defense.

Incidentally, Spider-Man isn't the only one; these things can also be used by Cindy and the others.

But Adrian had more surprises in store for him than just that.

"And this, a good find from the used car market, plus some leftover funds, I put together this. You might find it useful, Spider-Man."

Lifting the tarpaulin, Adrian showed Peter his final work: a Spider-Man-themed, high-shock-absorbing convertible jeep.

"Spider-Man off-road vehicle? That's awesome, but I still need a driver's license, oh, I mean, I need a Spider-Man version of a driver's license."

Peter, who almost let slip the secret, quickly added, but Amadeus, who overheard this, asked Harry quietly, somewhat confused, "Wait, does Peter have a motorcycle license?"

"No, he doesn't have a driver's license for either cars or motorcycles."

Harry shrugged as he spoke: "Besides, which traffic cop would dare check Spider-Man's driver's license?"
