Chapter 545 The New Fantastic Four
Chapter 545 The New Fantastic Four
Today, a huge crowd gathered in front of the Baxter Building, with a large number of onlookers and reporters lining a makeshift platform. The Daily Bugle recorded this scene and gave it a special report.
"Today is a very important moment. The interim head of Baxter Tower, in accordance with Reed Richards' wishes, has funded and assembled a brand new team of superheroes. This team, called the New Fantastic Four, will join the great cause of protecting the people!"
"Now, let's welcome the new Fantastic Four!"
Jonah Jameson excitedly introduced the names of the people's new guardians. Unlike many other hero organizations, the identities of all four heroes in this team, called the New Fantastic Four, are kept secret.
Spider-Man was the first to jump into the meeting place without hesitation. His white suit was more of a reference to the Future Foundation suit in another timeline, except that the material was a symbiote and it had the number 4 on it. Then Wolverine Logan and Ghost Rider Johnny entered, followed by the Hulk.
They appeared before the public wearing suits of similar style and materials, announcing the formation of the new Fantastic Four.
This was one of Peter's schemes to attract Kang's attention: a completely new Fantastic Four that he had never seen before. Even now, Peter wasn't sure why Reed Richards had entrusted Baxter Tower to him and said that if anything happened to him, Peter would form a new Fantastic Four.
But this was an opportunity, a way to create chances and opportunities that left Kanto completely bewildered.
After the Fantastic Four appeared, Peter Parker, the current head of Baxter Tower, came out and began to introduce these four unique and unfamiliar superheroes, explaining the reason for the creation of this new Fantastic Four: they needed a team to inherit everything that Reed Richards possessed based on scientific exploration.
The implication is that the Fantastic Four are probably really dead.
The crowd cheered. They knew absolutely nothing about this team called the New Fantastic Four, but that didn't stop them from celebrating. And Jonah was right; the people of the Kang Dynasty truly knew nothing about the New Fantastic Four.
First is Peter, who naturally wouldn't reveal his true identity. Next is Johnny. Ghost Rider is undoubtedly a superhero outside the mainstream. Most people don't know that Ghost Rider exists, and the few who do know him think he's an urban legend or something. Almost no one realizes that Ghost Rider is real, let alone tries to figure out who he is.
In this world, Wolverine is a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, and naturally, an S.H.I.E.L.D. agent wouldn't reveal their identity. As for the Hulk? Sorry, the Hulk in this modified world only made his first appearance a couple of days ago.
So Jonah Jameson asked this most important question.
"But we can't help but ask—"
"Who exactly is the new Fantastic Four?"
This is a question that Jonah James isn't the only one asking.
Yeah, who the hell are these new Fantastic Four?!
Kang, who was receiving Magneto, was absentmindedly pondering the question. He knew a little about Hulk and Wolverine, after all, they were relatively famous heroes. But he was completely clueless about Spider-Man and Ghost Rider. He couldn't match these two with the superheroes he knew.
"Don't waste Kang's mercy, Magneto." Facing Magneto, who was trying to gain sympathy from him, Kang said without any hesitation, "You have no room for negotiation. The only reason I let you and your mutants survive is because I don't think there's any benefit in wiping you out."
"But……"
"Twenty thousand mutants is my bottom line. From the perspective of population size, any less and your contribution will be far less than that of others. I generously allow a mutant nation to exist, but I will not allow a mutant nation with privileges to exist. You are not special."
Magneto really wanted to say something, but he just looked at the Cosmic Cube in Kang's hand and finally nodded helplessly.
As for Kang, he was preoccupied with other things and didn't seem to care much about Magneto's visit.
One of the most important things he was thinking about was investigating the new Fantastic Four, but in his view, it wasn't a particularly important matter. It seemed more like a target thrown out by some rebels or people with other motives to draw their attention.
The evidence is that, according to intelligence provided by S.H.I.E.L.D., Strange has finally appeared.
Kang never dared to be careless in the face of the Sorcerer Supreme. In this era, only Strange escaped this fate: he tried to use the Cosmic Cube to modify Strange's past so that he would not become the Sorcerer Supreme, but he failed. He then tried to go back in time himself to prevent Strange from becoming the Sorcerer Supreme.
Then he encountered a bald woman who could move freely in a time-stopped environment, and she chased after Kang, beating him up the whole way, so he returned. He planned to use the Cosmic Cube to attack Strange in this era.
Therefore, I'll leave the matter of the new Fantastic Four to S.H.I.E.L.D. and focus my energy on the Sorcerer Supreme.
Meanwhile, Magneto, having failed in his negotiations, could only nod helplessly and leave. Twenty thousand mutants were about to be thrown onto the battlefield like cannon fodder, but he was powerless to stop it. Perhaps Charles was right; they needed to rebel against Kang and restore the world to its original state.
This world doesn't need the Cosmic Cube, much less a tyrant.
"However, there's no need to let mutants lead the charge."
Magneto muttered to himself, "The others—Namor, Black Panther, Hydra, Doom, and Omen—are they really so devoted to Kang that they have no resistance whatsoever?" That was impossible. Each of them knew that as time passed, they could be altered in an instant by Kang using the Cosmic Cube, or even replaced outright. The longer it dragged on, the more disadvantageous it would be for these tyrants.
“They will definitely make the first move. We’ll see when that happens. Hopefully, Charles has a complete plan.”
As Magneto pondered this, he left the sword-shaped flagship above New York. He frowned, and for a moment, he couldn't help but reach out his hand towards the flagship.
But I had no choice but to let it go.
