I'm working on Marvel's Spider-Man in American comics.
Chapter 449 Further to Kenosha
Chapter 449 Further to Kenosha
Peter didn't feel anything special about his trip to Kenosha Island again. He messaged Gwen, Cindy, and Felicia, telling them not to worry about Spider-Man's temporary disappearance in New York for a few days; he was just on a business trip.
The thought of having to travel for work every day at such a young age made Peter chuckle, though not out of happiness, but out of exasperation.
Then he and Katie boarded a S.H.I.E.L.D. Quinjet and headed to Kenosha. Because this was a critical matter, Fury chose to bypass the U.S. government's worthless diplomatic ban and immediately send the two of them there. If it weren't for the unknown reason that the slingshot couldn't open the portal, Peter could have just walked there himself.
However, Peter, sitting on the plane, was now puzzled by one thing: if Charles Xavier's description in 2029 was true, one of the possible reasons for the extreme future where the Sentinels ruled the world was that Tony Stark was killed by AIM.
This is almost the most unbelievable and unacceptable part of the whole thing for Peter. After all, in Iron Man 3, Tony almost single-handedly took on the entire AIM while wearing the "Anti-Tony Armor" MK42. There was even a long part in the movie where he didn't wear the armor and beat up the Ten Rings gang with equipment he made from junk from a department store.
Of course, AIM is definitely much stronger now than he was in the movies. Even disregarding the American Avengers, AIM is far more powerful than he was in the films. However, the Avengers in Universe 616 don't have the scheduling and filming issues of the MCU, so Tony could easily call upon the entire Avengers to deal with AIM.
How did Tony lose? It couldn't have been a careless defeat, could it? Or were the Avengers held up by other things?
Peter frowned. He was about to ask Katie some details about Tony Stark's death when he saw her sitting there absentmindedly, chin in hand, staring out the porthole.
"Are you alright?" Peter asked with concern. "You seem a bit out of sorts."
"Haha, I'm fine." Katie hurriedly brushed her hair aside and took a deep breath. Of course, she was out of sorts. You see, rather than receiving memories, she was synchronizing with her future self's memories. The professor and the future Katie's brains were always connected, allowing for bidirectional influence.
It seems that only Katie Pride has the ability to do this.
So, the reason she's not in the right state of mind is entirely the professor's fault! Why did he have to transfer all his future memories over? He should have just transferred the important things!
“If you could,” Katie heard Peter say, “could you ask me how Tony Stark died and why the Avengers didn’t intervene? I just can’t imagine Tony Stark being killed by AIM.”
"Uh, oh, okay."
Katie sighed, then looked out the window in silence, as if Peter Parker was only ever talking about serious matters…
Helpless, Katie answered the message and looked at Peter in confusion before asking, "Professor, oh, it was you from the future who said that the Avengers were fighting Kang the Conqueror at the time, so they didn't get involved in AIM and left everything to Tony Stark."
Kang?
At this very moment in Kenosha, Quicksilver was tending to the gardens of Magneto's palace. Magneto, of course, received a message from Nick Fury. However, Nick Fury's message was far too brief, essentially just one sentence: The X-Men need Magneto's help to save the mutants.
Well, the X-Men needed Magneto, a fact Magneto himself had never doubted. However, when he discovered that the only people who came were a young mutant and a Spider-Man who was not a mutant at all, Magneto became a little unhappy.
So he told his son to pack up and wait for the S.H.I.E.L.D. plane to arrive, and that his son and daughter could greet the young people. He told them to come see him if they needed anything.
I'll just go and spend time with my youngest daughter, Lorna. "Do you think we should have a celebration or something, little sister?"
Pietro made arrangements while asking questions, and Wanda shook her head helplessly. It was obvious that the other party had come to do serious business, and who had the time to chat with you about these trivial matters?
"You'd better hurry up and tidy up the empty space. Don't let S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Quinjet ruin Father's garden. You'll be the one cleaning it up then."
“This is not fair at all,” Pietro muttered. “You can’t treat me like a laborer just because I do everything quickly. Oh, they’re here.”
A S.H.I.E.L.D. Quinjet arrived above Magneto's Palace, deactivated its optical camouflage, and slowly descended vertically. As the rear hatch opened, Spider-Man and Shadowcat, dressed in their uniforms, stepped out. Quicksilver glanced at Shadowcat's yellow and black uniform—the new mutant team's—and muttered a few words, clearly criticizing the X-Men's terrible fashion sense.
After Peter came down, before he could even say hello, Quicksilver rushed up to him and gave him a bear hug: "Hey, Spider-Man! My good buddy! You saw me just now, right? I saw you dodging and your eyes were on me."
"That means you weren't running at full speed, Pietro. This is Katie, Shadowcat from the New Mutant Team. Katie, these two are Wanda and Pietro, Magneto's children. We worked together before when we were fighting Electro."
"Yeah, we beat that guy so badly he was running for his life."
Pietro laughed heartily and looked at Peter, but Peter wasn't in the mood for reminiscing, at least not now: "Where is your father? We have something very important to discuss with him."
"Father is waiting for you in his study. I'll go tell him you've arrived now."
Quicksilver vanished in a flash, proving that Magneto hadn't actually been waiting for them in the study. Peter and Katie exchanged a glance, then followed Wanda to Magneto's study, where Magneto, Erik Lansheer, was waiting for them.
"Welcome back to Kenosha, Spider-Man and Kitty Phantom. What kind of help are you seeking in Kenosha?"
Magneto actually had no recollection of Katie, but that didn't stop him from saying it. As soon as he finished speaking, he heard a familiar voice ring out in his mind.
"We need your help, Eric."
"Charles?"
