Chapter 413 What does it mean to change the mission to save the elementals?
Cyclone is dead. This ending was unexpected for Peter. He was certain of one thing: it was Lady Viper who did it. He had seen this magic that filled with green smoke at Lady Viper before, less than an hour ago, at the scene of the Molten Man's prison break.

Within just one hour, two members of the Elementals were completely dead, but why? Why did Hydra start killing these people?

Just because he has the ability to catch them? That doesn't make sense.

Peter scratched his head, completely bewildered. Meanwhile, the Black Knight, who had been slacking off during the battle, walked over. As a member of a prestigious family dating back to the time of King Arthur, he possessed extensive theoretical knowledge despite not knowing any magic. Looking at the scene, he turned to Spider-Man with a serious expression: "This is black magic. We've seen it before when fighting demons and Morgan le Fay."

“Morgan le Fay?” Peter remembered the name. “You mean King Arthur’s half-sister, the dark sorceress?”

"Yes, the greatest enemy of the Holy Sword is Morgan le Fay, her evil son Mordred, and the demons associated with them." Captain Britain walked over and briefly explained the biggest difference between British superheroes and the Avengers. Old London was a place heavily influenced by magic, so much so that the supervillains they regularly fought were all magic-based.

But Peter thought of something.

"Won't the Holy See of England come to your aid?"

“The wizards of Kamar-Taj will provide us with support, but we will rely more on Merlin. Moreover, it seems that the Sorcerer Supreme and Merlin have an agreement that he will not get too involved in the situation of the wizarding world in London.” Captain Britain explained the situation briefly, then looked at the place where the whirlwind spirit had just been: “His spirit was cursed, and judging from the duration of the curse, it wasn’t long ago; it was probably just recently placed.”

It was set up not long ago... but why?
Peter was completely baffled when he suddenly received a text message from Cindy saying that a guest had arrived on the Wild Crew's cargo ship.

"Ladies and gentlemen, Nick Fury is here and wants to meet you all. Are you interested?"

A few minutes later, on the Wild Battle Group's warships, which were undergoing repairs and were leaking everywhere, docked in the port of Naples.

Nick Fury stood before the cage. Not long ago, it had held the Molten Man; now, there was nothing there. The Viper Gang's henchmen, though also cyborgs, clearly held no interest for Nick Fury.

“I heard the Molten Man died, so I rushed over. Coincidentally, I also saw that Cyclone died.” Fury sighed helplessly and then looked at Peter and the British Holy Sword organization behind him: “I heard that these people were killed by magic. I don’t know much about magic. What do you experts think?”

"A temporary curse. To execute this curse, the caster will have to pay a considerable price. In other words, even if it costs them a lot, they will still want to completely destroy the whirlwind." The Black Knight explained, "This is illogical and needs to be investigated thoroughly."

Nick Fury remained silent. He knew perfectly well why this had happened, but he didn't intend to tell the group from the Holy Sword. So he changed his tone: "Sorry, everyone, S.H.I.E.L.D. isn't aware of this yet, so leave it to us for now. I need your help to investigate how to prevent and lift this curse. After all, I don't have any magic experts here, and I can't always just kill the enemy. I need intelligence."

"Those elementals..."

“For now, we'll stop them, not try to arrest them. Of course, the enemy might go into hiding because of this,” Fury said, indicating that this was no longer their concern, since the Wild Chapter had invited them themselves. The members of the Holy Sword exchanged glances and nodded. “Once we return to England, we'll immediately launch an investigation and find a solution as soon as possible. There's likely a very sinister conspiracy lurking behind the Elementals, and we'll do our part to help.”

Fury nodded, and after watching these people leave, he sighed helplessly. Neither the silver sable nor the black cat, nor even the spider silk, were there. For the time being, only he and Peter were around.

He lifted his trench coat, put his hands on his hips, looked at the cage, and lowered his voice to explain why this had happened: "You should know that you are just a decoy. In reality, I sent other people to investigate Hydra, right?"

"Yes, what's wrong?"

“The men I sent out went to Taranto.”

Peter looked at Fury with great surprise: "I've been to Taranto, and there was no information about Hydra there."

"That's the strangest thing. If there's no information about Hydra in that place, why would Hydra send the most terrifying assassin I know and the most skilled mercenary I know to silence the mercenaries I sent out? I can confirm that the Winter Soldier appeared only twice: once when he blinded me and once when your parents had their accident. He was there."

Peter immediately understood: Fury's helpers had gone to Taranto, been intercepted and killed by the Winter Soldier, and something else had undoubtedly happened, which was why Fury realized something was wrong.

Peter suddenly realized two things. He asked the first question: "Wait, who did you send out?"

"Steve Rogers and Logan, the two of them disguised themselves, but the Winter Soldier and Taskmaster came to assassinate them, and they had to expose their identities and fight against them."

Peter understood why Hydra had begun assassinating captured Elementals. Captain America discovered that the Winter Soldier was James Barnes, and since the Winter Soldier was nominally a cyborg from the former Soviet Union, this would inevitably trigger an investigation by the United States and Russia. At that point, it would be almost certain that Hydra would surface.

In order to prevent Hydra's intelligence from being leaked, Hydra will undoubtedly carry out a major contraction and purge.
