Chapter 361 Jameson Returns to the Hacksaw Game

Chapter 361 Jameson Returns to the Hacksaw Game
“Mr. Jameson, if we are going to investigate this Roderick Kingsley, what excuse should we use? After all, we can’t directly accuse him of being a murderer or a terrorist.”

As they entered the elevator leading to Roderick's studio floor, Mary Jane asked curiously. There were three of them in total. Jameson had brought Mary Jane along because she had thoroughly reviewed all the materials Ned had left behind. This high school girl was quick-witted; she had not only read through all of Ned's materials but also organized them and handed them directly to Jonah.

At least for a high school student, this is enough in terms of both ability and courage.

The other was Ben Ullick's nephew, Phil Ullick. Phil was originally an investigative reporter for the Daily Bugle, but he came here part-time as a photographer, mainly to find someone to assist him.

“We’re not here to investigate the Fairy King’s case, Watson. Instead, we’re here to seek Kingsley’s help.”

Jonah, wearing his old brown trench coat, watched the elevator ascend to the next floor: "Kinglis has connections with a large number of political figures, entertainment stars, and the wealthy. His clothing designs were once highly sought after by the entire American elite. If we need to investigate a political scandal, perhaps we can get the right answers from him."

Mary Jane suddenly realized that if the goal was to investigate the other party, then they should start with their surroundings. Jonah's decision to go directly to their door wasn't about investigating Roderick; his only purpose was to directly test whether the other party was indeed that damned Fairy King.

Jonah Jameson's task is to avenge Ned. He only needs to tell the Avengers about his suspicions, and they will use various high-tech methods to make a further judgment. The truth can be investigated later.

“Yurik, take pictures everywhere. Watson, get the notes ready.”

Jonah took a deep breath and straightened his collar.

I'm not used to having to collaborate with Spider-Man.

With a "ding," the elevator arrived at the floor. Jonah stepped out first, followed by Phil and Mary Jane. Mary Jane looked at the studio logo that read "Fantasy World" after they came out and suddenly realized that this was the person they were looking for.

Isn't the fantasy world just the world of fantastical creatures like goblins?

Muttering something completely unrelated, Mary Jane quickly caught up with Jonah. Meanwhile, Roderick was already waiting for Jonah at the door: "Mr. Jameson, welcome, welcome! I've been looking forward to your arrival ever since I received your appointment request."

“You’re too kind, Mr. Kingsley.”

Jonathan immediately adopted a fawning demeanor, and the two walked and talked until they reached the meeting room. The studio staff prepared coffee for everyone and brought it to them. Roderick thought for a moment, then remembered why Jonathan had sought him out: "So, you want to ask me about the NYPD..."

The questioning proceeded quickly, with Jonah seemingly engrossed, relentlessly asking questions as if genuinely intending to delve into the NYPD scandal. He remained completely silent about Kingsley's involvement, offering not even the most basic hint. Mary Jane quickly transcribed the conversation, while Phil Ullrick simply took his camera and left to chat with the studio's female assistant. "Come on, Kingsley, you and I both know how many celebrities and VIPs you have here, yet you keep hiding things like you know nothing," Jonah said impatiently. "Hair salons, cars, fashion designers—these places always assume you know nothing about their work, using incredibly offensive language. I know, I've seen it far too often."

"No, no, Mr. Jonathan, what you're saying is all ancient history. Think about it, how many people have already fallen victim to this? How could they possibly make the same mistake again?"

Mary Jane recorded all of this while pondering a question: if Jonah simply kept asking, what would he possibly find out?

Jonah Jameson wasn't going to ask anything because he was waiting for Spider-Man.

At this very moment, Peter was outside the building, bracing for the possibility that Roderick might resort to desperate measures. After experiencing two consecutive "demon" self-destructions yesterday, Pym quickly devised a solution—no new technology involved, just mass-producing spider drones, shrinking them with Pym particles, and sending the drones inside the target's body to defuse the bombs, nothing more.

He had reached the outer side of the floor before Jonah and the others, but since he couldn't determine whether Roderick had willingly become a demon or had been brainwashed by the Fairy King, he didn't launch a preemptive strike. Instead, he had the spider robots search the entire workshop to confirm there were no pumpkin bombs hidden inside. However, he also found no demon or Green Goblin equipment.

Peter then controlled the miniaturized spider robot to enter the other person's water glass. After the robot was drunk, he controlled it to search inside the other person's body and quickly found what he wanted: a bomb installed inside the other person's body.

Since these pumpkin bombs use human bodies as their outer shells, they no longer need pumpkin shells. However, the remote-controlled fuses are easier to remove. Peter quickly controlled the spider robot to remove the fuses and then breathed a sigh of relief.

"It seems Roderick is indeed a demon, but we don't know if he's an active or passive one, or if he might be the Fairy King. Jameson's communications... the wiretapping is also underway."

But Peter didn't have time to continue his investigation because his spider senses went off quickly. He immediately leaped away, dodging a pumpkin bomb that was falling from the sky, and then swung back to the high-rise buildings on his webs, watching the evil spirits laughing maniacally as they descended from above on flying skateboards.

"Oh, Spider-Man, long time no see! Or is it a first time? Yes, it's me again, the King of the Fairies."

The demon in front of him laughed, holding a pumpkin bomb, and looked at Spider-Man: "You know what? I was really shocked when you defused the fuse. That's too much! How could you dispose of someone else's property without permission?"

"Do you see other people's lives as nothing more than property?"

Peter narrowed his eyes as he looked at the demon before him. No matter who was behind the mask, he had to take this guy down first.
