Chapter 359 Cutting Off Clues
The Avenger tasked with rescuing Ned was Hank Pym. He entered Ned's house in a flying ant, reverted to his normal size, and then approached Ned, who was stuck to the wall by Spider-Man.
“Mr. Ned Lids, please relax. I’m Hank Pym, and I’m here to help you.”

Ned, stuck to the wall by the net, seemed to realize something. His gray skin contorted with pain as he screamed, "Don't come any closer! Don't come any closer!"

"Don't worry, the Avengers will heal you..."

"I have a bomb inside me!"

Upon hearing this, Pym stopped in his tracks.

“It’s about to explode, you won’t have time to take it apart.” Ned’s lips trembled slightly, then he said with a mournful face, “I know you, you are, you are Dr. Pym, right?”

"Yes, perhaps there is still hope, Mr. Liz, please don't..."

“Please, please tell Spider-Man. The Fairy King is after him, and he won’t do anything else until he kills Spider-Man.” Ned’s expression twisted as he spoke. “We must, we must stop him before he kills Spider-Man! I don’t remember much, but we must stop him before he kills Spider-Man!”

Hank was about to say something when the man in front of him exploded into a fireball. Hank remained silent for a long time, holding that position until Spider-Man came in through the window.

“This guy saved me, Spider-Man. He could have said nothing, or he could have kept quiet about the Goblin King. But he did.” Pym looked at the charred corpse before him and muttered to himself, “We have to stop that Goblin King. He’s pure evil. There’s no room for negotiation.”

In January, Manhattan was as cold as ever. Jonah Jameson, who came to work at the Daily Bugle during the day, made his usual rounds in the office and found that Ned Liz was not there. He cursed as he dialed the number, vowing to give the guy who was late and didn't ask for leave a good scolding.

But the call didn't go through, so he dialed a second number. Just then, the editor-in-chief, Robbie, came over and whispered something in his ear.

"Jonah, Spider-Man is here, in your office."

"Spider-Man? Why isn't he being his Avengers? What's he doing here?!" Jonah's voice rose three octaves as he grumbled and walked toward his office. After opening the door, he saw Spider-Man standing in front of his desk.

“Spider-Man, I don’t know what you’re here for. If you want to sue the Daily Bugle for defamation, you should hire a lawyer, send a lawyer’s letter, and sign your real name. If you’re planning to have the Daily Bugle interview you, I’m sorry, we have no such arrangements.”

Jonah pretended not to care at all, sat down in his seat, and habitually put his legs on the table. Then he felt that it was inappropriate to do so in front of Spider-Man, so he put his legs down.

"In short, the Daily Bugle doesn't welcome you... not particularly welcome you."

“I’m here to…deliver bad news, Jonah. I’m sorry about Ned Lids, the reporter.”

Jonah was stunned. He considered many possibilities, even briefly wondering if Spider-Man was threatening him, but he quickly dismissed the idea. In his heart, Spider-Man wasn't a bad person. In fact, it was rare to meet someone as good as Spider-Man.

Therefore, even though we don't know what kind of person Spider-Man is when he takes off his mask, or whether he's a villain who does evil to maintain his mental balance, Jonah can at least conclude that Spider-Man with the mask on is a good person.

So after thinking it over carefully, Jonah roughly understood what had happened.

“I remember Liz was investigating a bombing, right? Did he find out something, so…” “There was a supervillain called the Fairy King who planned the bombing to cover up his true identity. Liz was captured and brainwashed during his investigation, and the other party tried to frame Liz for it all.”

Jonah rubbed his temples in pain. Since Spider-Man had investigated this far, there was no doubt that the other party's plan to frame him had failed. He listened silently to Spider-Man finish his story, then looked at him.

“Ned…he didn’t give in, did he? He’s a good journalist, isn’t he?”

"Yes, he saved us."

Jonah sighed and then looked at Spider-Man: "Did you guys catch that seemingly stupid Fairy King?"

"...Not yet, the trail has gone cold. Although their attempt to frame us failed, we haven't caught them."

Jonah Jameson nodded, then sighed. He instructed Robbie to write an obituary for Ned, then stood up and put on his coat.

“Thank you so much for letting me know, Spider-Man. You’ve done me a favor.” Jonah put on his hat. Peter looked at him and asked, “What are you going to do?”

“I remember Ned’s investigation report should still be on his computer. I’m going to investigate, Spider-Man. Maybe you Avengers won’t find anything, or maybe he found something but got caught, but I’m different.”

Jonah walked to the office door and looked at Spider-Man.

“My employee has been killed, Spider-Man, killed while reporting the truth. I cannot stand idly by. Jonah Jameson was the best investigative journalist in all of Manhattan, and he still is. I will bring that bastard to justice. Only then can I bring peace to my subordinates.”

He didn't give Peter a chance to refute, and immediately closed the office door. Peter sighed helplessly and then asked Jarvis, "Jarvis, did the surveillance footage show any people who might be involved in all of this?"

The camera at the AIM window across from the restaurant captured people entering the restaurant during that time period. Peter had Jarvis analyze and process the footage in advance, and Jarvis lived up to expectations by listing the names of suspicious individuals.

"Roderick Kingsley, a New York billionaire and renowned fashion artist, was the victim. He and the perpetrator worked in the same building, but not on the same floor."

Roderick Kingsley...

I seem to recognize this name; it looks like it's the name of the first demon from the manga version.
Could this be yet another disguise by the Fairy King?

And then there's Barton Hamilton, Norman's psychiatrist; we should start with these two next.

The parts of Peter's statement that were not true were all meant to comfort Jameson.
