I'm working on Marvel's Spider-Man in American comics.
Chapter 351 contains something hidden.
Chapter 351 contains something hidden.
Mary Jane knew that the part of the work assigned to her was actually unimportant, just some odd jobs. It could even be said to be completely ineffective labor, since Ned had already read most of the content once, and he was just asking Mary Jane to read it again.
But she did indeed read through all the information Ned had collected.
In general, there are several suspicious points in the bombing case: First, it is impossible to determine the motive and purpose of the perpetrator. The victim had almost no enemies or people with whom he had particularly bad relationships. The police could not find anything by simply starting from this aspect.
The second issue concerns the bomb. One problem is that many people, even many customers dining at the same restaurant, did not hear the explosion. Some people only said they saw the flash of the explosion, which is undoubtedly illogical. How could a bomb go unwittingly unseen?
Ned, the journalist, also noticed these obvious inconsistencies and compiled the relevant materials. It's clear that although Ned wasn't actually in charge of the field investigation, his investigation was quite thorough. He interviewed numerous potential witnesses before finally confirming that no one saw the entire explosion; there was only a fleeting green light. In fact, it was only seconds after the explosion that the person sitting next to him noticed the problem.
In other words, the bomb was so quiet that even the guests sitting next to each other wouldn't have noticed it.
"At this point, why hasn't the police contacted the Avengers...?"
Mary Jane frowned and asked uncertainly. She didn't know why, but fortunately, Ned had also asked the police about these matters.
She discovered another advantage of being a seasoned, well-known journalist: an incredibly complex network of connections, allowing her to reach all sorts of people from various walks of life to conduct investigations. Ned recruited several police officers to investigate why the police hadn't sought help from superheroes like the Avengers.
The response they received was dissuasion; regardless of which police officer they were dealing with, they were all told not to continue the investigation.
This matter is related to something within the police force.
Mary Jane read Ned's next report, which didn't go on to explain what had happened, and then she thought of Gwen. She remembered that Gwen's father was also a policeman, and a high-ranking one at that.
Does he know something?
Meanwhile, Sheriff George Stacy preferred to know something rather than be completely ignorant. After returning to his precinct office, he was actually waiting for someone to tell him something, or even warn him about something.
But there was no pressure or warning from superiors, nor any threatening letters. Everything seemed normal, as if it was perfectly reasonable for him to continue his investigation. This is what made Sheriff Stacy worried and anxious. The other party was not afraid of his investigation and was even very confident that even if Sheriff Stacy continued, she would ultimately find nothing.
Who is behind all this, and what conspiracy are they plotting?
Peter undoubtedly knew something. He said the bomb might have been designed by Norman Osborn, but Osborn had no motive to participate in this series of crimes, nor any reason to harm an ordinary citizen. Everything seemed to be a mystery.
Peter said he would go and talk to Norman Osborne in person, but George Stacy did not believe that Osborne was behind all of this, or rather, if it was Osborne, what could he possibly gain from it?
It seems like nothing can be gained.
"There is something else hidden behind all of this, something deeper."
-
Osborne's villa is located in upstate New York, which is not within the New York City area, so the price is relatively lower. Moreover, the Osborne family has no butler or servants. In fact, if you look at Osborne's neighbors and the size of his villa, you would never guess that he is a billionaire.
Norman Osborne was a very frugal man, at least in terms of food, clothing and daily necessities.
"Welcome, Dr. Barton Hamilton. Thank you for coming."
At the entrance of the villa, Norman personally greeted his spiritual healer, then sighed helplessly and shook his head: "My condition seems to have worsened recently, I need... I need your help."
"It's an honor, Mr. Norman. When was the last time we met, a few years ago?"
"It was only three years ago, please." Harry, who had been keeping an eye on his father's movements, saw his father bring a psychiatrist he didn't recognize into the house. He immediately went back to bed, took out the small spider robot Peter had given him, and started using his phone to control the robot to follow the doctor and check on his father's condition.
When Peter and Harry explained that Norman might become, or even already has become, a supervillain, Harry wavered. He acknowledged that his father was a wicked man, but he didn't want his father to fall into an even deeper abyss, becoming a terrible murderer or something else.
So he decided to spy on his father to see if anything terrible had happened.
Norman led Hamilton to a lounge in the house that was not frequently used. Hamilton took out an oriental-style incense burner from his bag, placed it on the coffee table, and lit some strangely scented incense.
Norman lay on a wicker chair, seemingly finding some peace in the incense.
"He's here again, Patton, he's here again."
"You mean, Green Goblin?"
"Yes, I can hear his voice again."
“Alright, Norman,” Barton’s voice was calm and steady. “Repeat it with me: the Green Goblin does not exist.”
"But the Green Goblin is there, I can hear him."
“Repeat to me, the Green Goblin does not exist.”
"..."
Norman remained silent, not uttering a word.
“Listen to me, Norman, your schizophrenia stems from childhood trauma. You created a terrifying Green Goblin, a ruthless and vicious creature who could protect you from your bullies. But you are powerful enough now. You are Norman Osborn, the creator of one of the most successful business empires.” Dr. Barton’s voice became mesmerizing in the glow of incense. “So, repeat after me.”
"The Green Goblin does not exist."
In the intoxicating glow of the incense, Norman suddenly looked at Dr. Barton and asked a question.
"Did you receive a small ball, Barton?"
Norman saw Patton momentarily lost in thought, then smiled, closed his eyes, and murmured to himself.
"The Green Goblin does not exist."
Barton Hamilton, the Osborne family's psychiatrist and expert in criminal psychology.
