Chapter 338 Escape?

Iliana felt no regret, only anger. She was angry that the deaths of her companions had been meaningless, and that their sacrifice had not even caused Velasco the slightest disturbance.

Just as she and Peter had said, these survivors on the edge of hell were already prepared to die, not because they were fearless, but because they wouldn't feel any regret about losing their lives. Therefore, once they believed that their death could bring some meaning or accomplish something, they would not hesitate to die.

Now, these survivors only believe that one thing is meaningful: not defeating Velasco. They dare not hope that the incredibly powerful Sorcerer Supreme that Spider-Man mentioned actually exists. Their idea is that Spider-Man can take Magik back to Universe 616, and that the X-Men who have not yet been corrupted can escape back to Universe 616. For this, these people are willing to sacrifice their lives.

This is why the old Magik and his team devised a highly risky plan that Peter strongly opposed: to enchant their weapons with Strange's magic, the only one capable of threatening Velasco, giving Logan a second or two so that the old Magik could use a portal to get to Velasco's side and swing his weapon to injure him.

"What a great sacrifice, what a great dedication, but unfortunately, it was all for naught."

Velasco, whose face had been struck by Iliana's claw, hadn't even been scratched. He simply released his grip, stepped back, and admired the half-demon Iliana breathing on him: "You should feel lucky, Iliana, because their deaths weren't entirely useless. Look at you now, how beautiful! How powerful!"

“You are not like those Ilianas who endured the corruption of the borderlands of hell while insisting on maintaining their ‘purity,’ nor are you like those Ilianas who willingly fell and were then killed by me. In all these years, you are the first to voluntarily accept conversion, to willingly allow half of your soul’s emptiness to be completely filled by dark magic—”

A longsword burning with hellfire pierced Velasco's chest. Velasco looked at the girl before him, who had completely lost her human appearance. If before, the growth of horns, a tail, and wings was merely a change in appearance, then at this moment, Iliana was a demon.

The black scabs covering her body had burst open and were ignited by the hellfire within her. Blood-red flames erupted from beneath her dark skin, burning it to a semi-solidified, molten, dark red. Iliana's height even increased dramatically, exceeding 1.8 meters.

The raging hellfire burned, yet Velasco continued to smile. He then turned into a pool of blood and slid to the ground. Iliana tried to burn the blood with flames, but to no avail.

Even the longsword that had been embedded in Velasco's body broke.

How could the master of the border of hell be burned by hellfire? Although Iliana filled her soul with dark magic, she did expel, or more accurately, absorb, the corruption within her body, but this still could not allow Iliana to harm herself.

"If you're going to do something, my dear child, perhaps you should be a little more creative—"

As he spoke, Velasco feigned ease, turned around, and opened a barrier to block Cyclops's full-force beam of light. He looked at the X-Men who had appeared behind him with apparent surprise and uttered a rare exclamation: "When did you get there? Spider-Man? You should be fighting other demons."

This guy is acting.

Having confirmed this, Peter shrugged nonchalantly: "You know, it's very simple. There are so many demons here. Venom can simply possess someone else temporarily and impersonate me, giving me time to free the X-Men."

"Kurt, get all the survivors connected." Cyclops, who had just finished releasing a burst of energy, looked warily at Velasco ahead, while Iliana angrily picked up the old Magik's remaining sword and plunged it into his body again. Then Velasco grabbed her arm and "accidentally" threw her in front of the X-Men.

He paused for a moment, worried that his acting might be too clumsy and that someone would see through it. Oh well, he figured he might as well leave it at that; after all, he'd already acted.

Almost simultaneously, Nightcrawler took over the demonized Storm and Shadowcat, as well as the fully vampire-transformed Blade and the decadent Strange. The Venom that had temporarily possessed Strange jumped back into Peter's body, while Peter directly opened a spatial rift.

"Everyone, get out of here, quickly!"

The fully demonized Iliana looked at Velasco, then at the X-Men who were watching her warily, unsure of who she was. She gritted her teeth and deactivated her transformation.

“I’ll hold them off…” The dejected Strange and the demonic Storm were originally planning to hold off Velasco, but Peter simply used his webs to stick the two of them to their backs and pulled them into the spatial rift as well.

Velasco finally smiled with satisfaction. He picked up the Bloodstone Amulet in his hand; the five Bloodstones inside would be the passage for the ancient gods to return to reality.

"It seems that's how it is after all. Spider-Man, it's so easy to guess the psychology of a good person. He doesn't give up on anyone. That's great. He's opened the way to Earth 616 for me."

Peter led almost all the X-Men and survivors through the spatial rift. Almost as soon as they landed, he became alert: "Everyone be careful. Velasco is waiting for this opportunity. He could come out of the spatial rift at any moment..."

"So you know Spider-Man, but unfortunately, that's too uncreative."

A strange sound came, and everyone looked around, finally looking at the demon Storm. Two hands emerged from her mouth and then tore open to both sides. Velasco casually killed another survivor from the frontier of hell and arrived in this world.

"Thank you, Spider-Man, thank you for opening the door to Earth 616 for me. Now, I am in this supreme dimension..."

Velasco excitedly raised the Bloodstone Amulet in his hand, but nothing happened.

“I never said I would come to Earth 616, Velasco. I’m just looking for a place for everyone to rest.”

As Peter spoke, one golden portal after another opened, and the Avengers from Earth 616, the Fantastic Four, the Thunder Force, the Defenders, the New Mutants, and the Hell Lion team, along with Storm Ororo leading the team, and the new and old Avengers from the wasteland universe, all arrived.

"And find a place where time doesn't flow so fast, so that our world's Strange can open a door."

The Sorcerer Supreme, Steve Strange, from Earth 616, landed next to Spider-Man.

Stop saying that Sithon doesn't want to return to 616. Sithon has been planning to return ever since Demogor reverted to the sun god Atum. Of course, this doesn't stop the Pantheon of Earth from using him as a ticking time bomb: once the balance of the gods is broken, Atum, believing the gods' time has come, will revert to the god-devourer Demogor to devour them.
