Chapter 312 Let's Go Through It One More Time

Chapter 312 Let's Go Through It Again (Gwen's Version)
Hello everyone, I'm the popular 616 Venom, and I'll be explaining what happened.

Above Manhattan, a figure descended from the sky; upon closer inspection, it was a person dressed in a red and black spiderweb suit.

[Probably due to the inhumanity of the Web of Fate, and possibly the lizardman's bad breath, Peter's ability to travel between universes became very unstable. He was then able to tear open the gates to the multiverse. He seems to have suffered some serious effects after traveling through the universe, and is now completely unconscious.]

Below is the brightly lit Times Square, with all sorts of signs: Tony Stark Arms Company, the hit TV series "Fantastic Four," and all sorts of other random things that are completely different from the 616 universe.

Venom took hold of Peter's body, swaying away on its webs before landing to the side. He took a deep breath, then exhaled all the lizardman serum in the form of mist, making sure it was diluted sufficiently before finding a place to leave.

Venom finally gets a chance to see the news, and it's the familiar Jonah Jameson reporting on Spider-Man...?

"Spider-Woman is a despicable criminal, and without a doubt, she needs to be held responsible for the death of innocent high school student Peter Parker!"

The headline read: "Wanted by police for Spider Woman!" and included a blurry photograph.

"Okay, looks like we can't go to Parker's house. There don't seem to be any Avengers in this universe either. We'll have to find somewhere else to rest."
-
"Alright, everyone, let's go over it again."

Wearing a black and white Spider-Man suit with a hood and patterns inspired by ballet costumes, Earth-65 Gwen Stacy swings through the streets of Manhattan—evading the NYPD. Countless police cars are tracking her trail.
"I was bitten by a radioactive spider, and for the next nine months, I was the only Spider-Woman—in a world where there are no superheroes."

"You all know the rest. I joined the band that MJ formed. She gave the band a stupid name, Mary Janes, which was really stupid."

"I don't know what to do with my superpowers. Everyone else is using them to do bad things and make money... Oh, I saved my dad from an armed robber, but I couldn't save my best friend."

She landed on the roof of an apartment building, ruffled her hood, and muttered, "Oh my god, what am I even introducing myself for? Who's going to listen to this stuff..."

The phone rang, and Gwen took out her phone to look at it. It was her father, Sheriff Stacy.

"dad?"

“Gwen, I still… I still want to talk to you about the band. Maybe you shouldn’t be so obsessed with the band, Gwen.” Sheriff Stacy’s voice came from the other end of the phone, speaking to her daughter: “You, you should study hard and think about your future.”

“I know Peter’s death has hit you hard, and it has hit us all hard, but you can’t keep wallowing in this, okay? Numbing yourself with rock music…”

Gwen listened silently to her father's nagging, finally saying only, "I know," before hanging up the phone. She sighed helplessly, looking at the number on her phone that could never be dialed again.

“You have no idea, Dad…”

Her best friend, Peter Parker, died at her hands.

The introverted boy wanted to be different like her, so he injected himself with a lizard serum and became a monster called the Lizardman. He stormed into the school's graduation ball intending to take revenge on the bully who had bullied him, but Gwen stopped him.

Gwen didn't know it was him.

Peter Parker, who had been severely injured, eventually returned to human form and lay in her arms telling her this.

"I just want to be different from you."

Gwen, lost in her own sorrow, suddenly felt her spider-sense activate. She looked around, unsure what had triggered it, and then she saw a figure falling from the sky. "Impossible..."

Absolutely not.

She saw it; what fell down were lizardmen!
Feeling surprised and astonished, Gwen rushed over despite the improbability. She swung her webs toward the direction the lizardman had fallen, but the lizardman crashed into the Hudson River and disappeared without a trace.

Was that a lizard man? Why did he fall from the sky? Could it be...?

Gwen struggled for a long time and searched for a long time, but in the end she found nothing. In the end, she chose to find a place to take off her battle suit, put on her headphones, and go home listening to music.

People on the street were shouting that they were chasing a thief, but Gwen ignored them and passed by.

She's not some kind of crime fighter, and there aren't many superheroes in this world. The Wasp, a former superhero, retired and became a supermodel. That's just how the world is; nobody thinks being a hero is a good thing.

"Breaking news: the tech crime syndicate 'Spider' has infiltrated Stark Industries' warehouses and stolen a large quantity of high-tech weapons..."

Terrorists have infiltrated an arms tycoon who not only lives a life of luxury but also has an entire private army called "War Machine" and doesn't need anyone's help.

Let's go home.

It was only afternoon, and her father shouldn't be home yet, but Gwen saw that the lights in her house were on. Her answer had been too perfunctory, so much so that her father had taken the day off work to have a heart-to-heart talk with her.

What can we possibly discuss?

Helplessly, Gwen took out her key, opened the door, sighed, and said something with her head down.

"I am back."

Her father did not answer her.

Gwen, realizing something was amiss, looked up and saw an unexpected person sitting at the table: a young girl about her age, wearing a long dress and trench coat, with beautiful blue eyes, long, flowing blonde hair, and…

Isn't that just a long-haired version of Gwen Stacy?!

What is this? Has someone discovered their identity and created a clone of themselves, or is it some kind of terrifying monster capable of disguise?

The long-haired version of herself seemed surprised as well. After hesitating for a moment, she waved at Gwen.

"Hey, hello, I'm Gwen Stacy... What nonsense is this? Wait, I'm Gwen Stacy from Earth 616."

Have you ever met Peter Parker? I mean, the real Peter Parker.

After a moment of mental blankness, Gwen finally blurted out, "Huh?"
