Chapter 303 Mr. Negative
After school, Peter and Gwen went to the Feast Party. The plan was as follows: first, go directly to Aunt May after school. Peter planned to tell Aunt May his true identity. When he realized that some danger might be happening to his family, Peter realized that perhaps he really needed to tell them in order to avoid some things.

Then, Peter will go with Felicia to find Craven. Actually, the two sides have already spoken on the phone, but the piece of the lizardman's back that Peter tore off is still in the hands of Osborn Technology. Peter needs to personally take Craven there to obtain the relevant materials.

Finally, in the evening, Peter needed to talk to Sheriff Stacy. Peter told Gwen about Sheriff Stacy's sacrifice in a parallel universe to stop the Lizardmen. He wasn't sure if something similar would happen in this universe, but he wanted to protect the safety of those around him.

So their first stop was Ciyan Banquet.

Mercy Banquet has been incredibly popular lately, largely because its owner, Martin Lee, has become the superhuman "Mr. Negative" and joined the "Defenders," the bodyguards of New York City, becoming a street hero. However, the main reason is that his power of light can heal wounds, and desperate patients who can't afford medical care come to Mercy Banquet seeking Mr. Negative's help.

Coincidentally, Martin Lee was actually helping out at the charity event today. Of course, some people came to see Mr. Negative transform, but Martin just smiled and declined.

"No, no, I can't do that. After I transform... it's very dangerous. If Mr. Negative touches a kind person, he will turn him into a bad person. There are both light and dark forces in my body at the same time. In Eastern terms, this is called 'Yin and Yang.' I must maintain its balance and cannot use my power casually."

Martin squeezed through the laughter of a group of children and smiled when he saw Peter standing at the entrance of the charity banquet: "Peter, we haven't seen you since you started high school. Gwen, how long has it been since you guys came?"

“Actually, I still come here occasionally, but I rarely see you, Mr. Li.” Peter shook hands with Martin: “How have you been lately, Mr. Li? I heard you’ve had some trouble.”

"It's alright, but things have definitely changed a lot. I was captured by a group of mad scientists and experimented on. You've probably heard that; I've become a superhero." Martin said, a hint of pride mixed with helplessness. "Actually, it's not quite like that. When I discovered I could use my abilities to heal diseases, I used them, but I quickly discovered that this energy had an effect on me. I can heal others, or give them power while turning them into bad guys, but no matter which I use alone, it will..."

"An imbalance of Yin and Yang."

“Yes,” Martin laughed. “That’s why I need to be a superhero. I need some violence to maintain my own balance. You’re smart, Peter, you’ve always been smart. Oh, by the way, you’re here to see May, right?”

"While you're at it, come and lend a hand at Ciyan Banquet. How's Ciyan Banquet doing lately?"

“Very good. More and more people have found jobs. Since the appearance of superheroes, there have been quite a few infrastructure projects in the city.” Martin smiled and led the two inside, saying, “In addition, the charity banquet receives a large amount of anonymous donations every month. I don’t know who donated it, but I am really grateful to them.”

"The charity banquet advocates helping others. Mr. Li, perhaps some people have been inspired by this spirit and therefore chose to lend a helping hand."

Peter laughed. Actually, he had donated the money. Since he joined the Avengers, Tony Stark could legitimately register Spider-Man trademarks and release related toys. Peter received a considerable sum of money, but he rarely used it. One reason was that his suddenly improved family finances might expose his secret identity, and another reason was that he didn't need that much money for the time being.

So after deducting a portion of the money and investing it in the Spiderweb Base, the rest was donated by Peter to the Charity Feast at Stark Industries' request. He didn't know if other charities were trustworthy, but at least the Charity Feast was.

Martin led Peter and Gwen to the kitchen and then left. The two exchanged a glance, then naturally went to the adjacent storage room, each grabbed an apron, put it on, and entered the kitchen. Aunt May, who was preparing dinner for the homeless people at the Charity House, saw them come in and smiled with slight surprise. "Peter, and Gwen, I really didn't expect you to come now, considering you've both been quite busy since you started high school."

"It's alright, Mei. I've been here two or three times already."

After Peter finished speaking, Gwen whispered a few words in his ear. Peter nodded, then watched as Gwen went to help elsewhere. Aunt May asked, somewhat amused and puzzled, "What's wrong? Why are you being so secretive?"

"I have something to tell you, Mei. You may have noticed that I've been leaving home every night..."

Aunt May stopped what she was doing and looked at Peter: "I know, Peter, but I also know you're a good boy. You haven't done anything bad, have you?"

"No, I am... I am trying to help others as much as possible."

Peter smiled and took a deep breath: "I, uh, I'm Spider-Man."

May looked at Peter again, staring into his eyes, and after a long while she realized, "Oh my God, Peter, you, you're not kidding."

“I’m not kidding, May. I gained these powers at the Osborn Tech Show in March, and I was thinking about what I could do with them, so I asked Uncle Ben to help me learn how to master them. And then, you know what happened next, I became Spider-Man, I became an Avenger.”

Peter spoke while glancing around to make sure no one was listening before continuing.

“At first, Uncle Ben and I were worried that you would be very worried about me after you found out, so we didn’t tell you. But, Aunt May, I realized that if I didn’t tell you, there would be many things I couldn’t explain, and I might not be able to explain if we encountered danger.”

"Has something happened, Peter?"

"Not yet, Mei."

Peter said softly, "I'll make sure it doesn't happen."
