Chapter 300 The Birth of the Lizardman

“I’m pretty sure that shockwave wasn’t generated normally.” Peter ignored Norman’s office and opened the window. “I’ll go check it out first. You cover up the traces and be careful.”

"I'll be careful." Felicia rolled her eyes helplessly as she watched Peter jump out of the window. "He's two years younger than me."

Peter, of course, didn't hear Felicia's complaints. He was descending from the sky, and soon he saw a strange flash of light coming from one of the experimental floors. That was the laboratory floor of the Savage Force Project, which was under the supervision of Dr. Connors. Peter and Gwen had come to see it during the day.

"Connors? What happened?"

There was no time to open the window. Realizing something might be wrong, Peter kicked the glass of the laboratory floor and fell inside. As soon as he entered, he saw a shocking scene: a giant reptile, taller than the Hulk, probably close to five meters in height, with a tail over three meters long, covered in shiny, hard chitinous scales. It was almost unlike the Lizard Man in Peter's Spider-Man memories, a lizard-like human wearing a white lab coat. On the contrary, the monster in front of him looked more like a bloodthirsty killer that had stepped out of some monster horror movie.

The monster grabbed two of the octopus's tentacles with its newly grown hands, which were not controlled by the mechanical tentacles, and slammed it to the ground before letting out a roar.

"Dr. Connors?"

Connors turned into a lizard man? How is that possible? He has no reason to inject himself with lizard serum or undergo surgery, unless…

Peter looked at Doctor Octopus.

"Otto?! What have you done?!"

"A minor experimental error, Spider-Man. I knew that the Erkins serum could enhance his bestial nature as a lizard when the Lizard serum was in effect, but I didn't expect it would also accelerate cell mutation."

He was eating; he was very hungry. The lizardman's enormous size required a lot of energy to sustain himself, but even so, he abandoned the two larger, heavier living people and consciously chose to devour even small creatures like lizards.

"Connors? Can you hear me?"

Peter, wary of Doctor Octopus, reached out to Connors. The lizardman hesitated, glancing at Peter before suddenly realizing something. His golden, vertical pupils constricted sharply, and he turned and charged outside. Peter quickly shot out silk, which stuck to the lizardman's back, but the lizardman's strength exceeded the reinforced silk's power, snapping it in the process. Peter then unleashed a torrent of symbiotes from his hands, forcefully binding the lizardman. The lizardman howled and cried out, rushing to the window, almost leaping out, but was entangled.

His golden eyes trembled, as if waiting for something. Finally, he briefly turned his head to look at Spider-Man.

Finally, with a deafening wail, the lizardman tore open his entire back, tearing off large amounts of scales along with his skin. Blood gushed from the cracks in his skin and flowed vertically down, revealing the muscles and spine beneath. His entire back, stuck together like a heavy carapace, crashed to the ground.

Freed from the symbiote's grasp, the lizardman howled as he free-fell from the hundred-meter-high building, crashing to the ground. Enduring the excruciating pain of his skin being torn off, he dug through the ground with his bare hands, burrowed into New York's sewers, and quickly escaped.

"That's a huge monster."

After tidying up Osborne's office, Felicia slid down with her grappling hook, dangling in mid-air as she asked, "Are you planning to go catch a monster?"

“No, we have to catch Doctor Octopus first. Black Cat, go contact the Avengers. I'll pass the contact signal to you. Tell them to protect Dr. Connors' family. After Connors goes out of control, he might go looking for his family.”

After communicating with the black cat, Peter decisively returned. At this moment, Doctor Octopus was also planning to run away, but Peter suddenly stretched out a hand, and a large number of black symbiotes surged towards Otto, trying to grab him directly.

Otto, however, smiled confidently and could temporarily force Spider-Man to retreat. His mechanical tentacles had been upgraded and were incredibly powerful with the symbiote's enhancement. Even Spider-Man, who was also enhanced by the symbiote, might not be able to defeat him in terms of strength.

"You can't stop me, Spider-Man!"

"Really? Otto? Why do villains always assume I can't handle you?!"

A flash of cold light appeared, and a sharp sword appeared in Spider-Man's hand, severing the two tentacles that reached out in front of him. Venom then grabbed Otto's arm and merged into Otto's body in a molecular state, extracting the entire red secondary symbiote. At the same time, Peter swung the sword to cut off the other two mechanical tentacles, allowing the Dragon Fang Sword to revert to being part of the web-shooter.
