Chapter 298 Operation Black Cat
That evening, Peter returned home and explained the situation to Tony. Tony was clearly quite surprised as well. It was rare for Norman Osborn to take such a big risk to reach an agreement with Stark Industries in order to gain control of his company. Moreover, most of the products of the two companies were not in the same field, so this acquisition would not even trigger antitrust laws.

However, this matter was clearly beyond Peter's capabilities, so he sent Peter home and took over the matter himself. Peter simply communicated with Harry and let Harry know about it.

Of course, Tony Stark doesn't really know how to do business, but he just needs to hand over all the business-related matters to Pepper Potts, and everything will be taken care of.

Back at Peter's place, after washing up at home, Peter went into his bedroom, lay on the bed, took out his phone, and made a private call to Felicia. He used a satellite phone, Stark Industries' satellite, to ensure the security of the call.

Although the phone call was just to arrange a time with Felicia to go out and see what Norman or someone else had hidden.

"Hello, is this Felicia-senpai?"

"Hmm, is something wrong with the detective agency?" Felicia, who was at home searching for news about the rapid decline in Osborn Technologies' stock price on her computer, didn't think Peter was up to anything important, after all, Peter Parker addressed her as "senior" instead of by her name or code name. However, Peter's words quickly changed Felicia's mind.

"It's not that something happened to the detective agency, it's that something happened to the Hudson River."

Felicia, who immediately understood what had happened, raised an eyebrow and asked in return.

"Shall we meet somewhere? I'm guessing tonight?"

"Yes, the top floor of the Osborne Building. We'll meet there in about two hours."

Felicia listened to Peter's meeting place, nodded and said a few words, then noticed that Peter Parker was speaking very softly for some reason. Just as she was about to ask him a few questions, she heard a loud shout from the other end of the phone.

"Peter! Why aren't you asleep yet?!"

"Right away! Aunt Mei!"

Although Peter covered the microphone with his hand, both his loud reply and Felicia's super soldier physique allowed her to hear clearly, and she couldn't help but laugh.

"Are you laughing?"

"No, no, go to bed, Spider-Man. See you in two hours."

Two hours later, Felicia, who had been waiting on the rooftop for a while, changed into the black cat's uniform and sat on the edge of the rooftop, swinging her legs as she watched Spider-Man swing over on his webs. Today, he was wearing the old-style symbiote suit, pure black with a white spider logo.

It seems more suitable for stealth, but considering Spider-Man can become invisible, it's most likely an ambient device.

"So, Spider-Man still has to go to bed on time?"

"Most of the time I just turn off the lights on time. If there are special circumstances, I usually wait until my uncle and aunt are asleep before I come out."

“I remember her.” Felicia, who had attended the charity banquet, smiled and shook her head. “She was a very nice person, wasn’t she?”

"Yes, it's just..."

Peter scratched his head, then sighed. Uncle Ben knew about his situation but was also worried about his early mornings and late nights, and even more so about his safety. As for Aunt May, he suspected she knew about his nightly sneaking out, but Uncle Ben had temporarily reassured him.

He began to struggle with whether or not to tell Aunt Mei his identity, but he was not sure and worried that if Aunt Mei knew, she would be overly concerned about his safety.

“Perhaps you should consider telling your family about your secret identity. I don’t think you can keep it a secret forever,” Felicia continued. “The longer you keep it a secret, the more damage she will feel from your distrust.”

Peter paused for a moment, then chose to skip the topic altogether: "Did you tell your mother that you were investigating the truth behind your father's death?"

"She lives in Europe, so she can't tell me what I'm doing."

You're unbeatable when it comes to three-dimensional defense, senior.

Ignoring what Peter Parker was thinking, Felicia asked, "So, why did you call me out here?"

Do you remember the massive blackout in New York last month?

Felicia nodded matter-of-factly: "A blue lightning bolt flew through Manhattan for several tens of minutes, causing a two-hour power outage in New York. I ruined a cell phone, so what?"

"That guy is a mutant, but he wasn't originally this strong. He stole Osborn Technology's electric eel and underwent modification surgery to become this powerful. And as it turns out, the Pentagon performed the surgery on him."

Black Cat's expression finally turned serious. The Pentagon was the most direct mastermind behind his father's death, with many Hydra agents hiding inside, and they had already begun to create entirely new types of super soldiers using the new super soldier project.

"Then, what does this have to do with Osborn Technologies?"

"Today, someone from the Pentagon came to put pressure on Osborn Technologies, and someone sold a large amount of Osborn Technologies stock, while the Pentagon began to slowly buy it back."

Massive sell-offs... No wonder Osborne's stock price has plummeted so quickly.

Felicia looked thoughtful, then shook her head, still looking puzzled. These all sounded like problems with the Pentagon, so why bother with Osborne Technologies?

“Spider-Sense? I have a feeling that there’s something going on with Osborn Technologies, especially that Osborn himself is hiding something from me. I want to ask you to help investigate the connection between Osborn Technologies and the Pentagon.”

Felicia nodded, looking down at the building, which was now completely dark. It was past 11 p.m., and the entire Osborne Technology Building was pitch black, clearly indicating that everyone had already left work.

In other words, there are no employees here right now, making it the perfect place to infiltrate.

For Peter and Felicia, infiltration itself was not difficult at all. Both of them were exceptionally agile, and with one being a professional thief and the other having the ability to stealth, the two easily infiltrated Norman's office. Peter also used Venom to disable the alarm devices inside.

Next, Black Cat was responsible for prying open the locks that weren't part of the computer's functionality, while Peter was responsible for decrypting the computer. Just as they were about to make their move, a violent shockwave, somewhat like an explosion or an impact, came from below them.

The two looked at each other in the darkness.
