Chapter 182 Brief Introduction to Symbiotes

Chapter 182 Brief Introduction to Symbiotes
Peter had asked Venom about his home planet, after all, the symbiote planet Klinta was a very important location, or rather, Peter was wondering if this world could be any safer, maybe this universe didn't even have Knull?

The answer is, things didn't go as planned.

"The symbiotes come from a distant planet called Klinta... That's how it should be understood. The symbiote race cannot speak before contacting a highly intelligent host, so it can only tell me the general meaning or show me some fragments of memories."

Peter scratched his head, not removing his hood even in Nick Fury's office. Nick Fury therefore couldn't analyze Peter Parker's expression to determine the truthfulness of his words, but he still trusted his intuition; what Peter Parker said next was unlikely to be false.

"Symbiotes are a very special life form. Apart from their home planet Klinta, they must coexist with higher animals to move stably. On Earth, at least vertebrates are needed for stable symbiosis. Otherwise, their molecules will be in an unstable state for a long time and are more vulnerable to damage."

"For symbiotes, on their home planet, their minds are shared through a clustered thinking structure similar to a honeycomb. Once they leave their home planet, this sharing will be temporarily interrupted. Most symbiotes will be affected by their hosts, but this effect generally only occurs in organisms that have been symbiotic for more than 48 hours. For example, if Venom were to leave me now and become symbiotic with another organism, the new host would not only be able to use Venom to perform my related combat skills, but might also guide others to become more like me."

Could Venom be used to create more Spider-Men?
Nick Fury finally became somewhat interested. He was well aware of Reed Richards' research on this creature and had reached relevant conclusions. However, he was not very familiar with the creature's characteristics outside of the research.

Did it tell you why it came here?

As Peter Parker explained the basic characteristics of symbiotes, Nick Fury didn't focus on the details but asked about something more important. Peter understood what Nick Fury meant and continued, "Well, Venom itself isn't quite sure why; it's more like it came by accident. But its four symbiotes weren't. The other four symbiotes were 'exiled' from Klinta because they violated Klinta's laws—almost the only law."

Nick Fury nodded, signaling Peter to continue.

"Um—how about we let Venom speak for itself? It might know more about this kind of thing."

Spider-Man's form suddenly changed; his original black suit transformed into a monster filled with viscous biomass, about the size of the Hulk, with sharp teeth and claws. It touched its head, which was about to hit the ceiling, and then chose to sit cross-legged.

Nick Fury's expression remained unchanged, though he kept one hand under the table. Cindy seemed a little startled, but her spider-sense told her there was no danger. Venom mimicked Peter's actions, touching its chin before opening its mouth and sticking out its long tongue.

"What do you want to ask us?"

"My primary concern is whether you are the first to arrive on Earth, or whether there are any more alien slimes like you who will come to Earth."

"The chances are very small. Klinta is located at the edge of the universe, in the coldest and darkest place, far away from Earth. It is almost impossible for a symbiote to come here naturally. As long as you Earthlings don't listen to those guys and go to Klinta on your own."

Nick Fury grasped the key point in Venom's words: "You mean, your kind might be thinking of taking Earthlings to your planet, why?"

"Because they've gone mad, they want to release Nar."

Nick Fury looked puzzled: "What's Nar?"

“Nar is our creator, our maker, an incredibly ancient god. He created the oldest version of us, enslaved us, stripped us of our thoughts, and used us to spread his chaos and darkness, conquering world after world.” Venom’s somewhat husky accent made his narration somewhat comical. Nick Fury put his feet down and said, “This Nar, is he that powerful?”

"Um... I don't know."

"You don't know how powerful your gods are?"

Venom answered honestly: "In Gnar's time, no one was a match for Gnar, so we don't know exactly how strong he was."

Without an opponent, it's impossible to judge strength; that's why even the symbiote itself didn't know how powerful Knull was. Nick Fury, looking at the ever-answering alien before him, countered, "Then how did you defeat Knull?"

“We didn’t. We just imprisoned him.”

Then tell me how you imprisoned him!

"Nar, controlling the most powerful minions, invaded a planet, but that planet had its own guardian. He struck Nar's minions with lightning, and Nar's spirit was trapped in his minions' bodies, leaving his own body an empty shell. Our ancestors seized the opportunity to gain their freedom and became a cage located at the planet's core, trapping Nar inside."

They were struck by lightning? Nick Fury perked up again: "Can you confirm which planet it is?"

Venom shook its head. The consciousness of Grundel, the symbiote dragon who was hit, was disconnected from Grundel's consciousness. Their consciousness did not enter the symbiote's consciousness network, so the symbiotes did not know whether Grundel went to Earth or not.

But if it's Earth, then the identity of this guardian is obvious—it's practically Thor, who loves Earth more than Asgard. It's a pity Thor is rarely on Earth, otherwise we could just ask.

"So, your four kin were outcasts within your race, wanting to liberate the gods you imprisoned. Your planet decided to banish them, so how did you end up here?"

"They were worried about getting hungry on the way and not having anything to eat."

"?"

"I couldn't beat them, so I was captured and used as reserve food."

"..."

Nick Fury sighed, shook his head helplessly, and waved his hand, transforming Venom back into a suit of armor. Peter was about to speak about Thor when Nick Fury simply waved his hand and sighed again, "Alright, I'll have Hawkeye show you two around the Three Flying Orchestra. I need to think about what I just heard."
